Thank you for this! Very informative. And the sounds were so satisfying. Currently listening to your podcast episode with David Miniatures.

My hot glue gun gets used quite frequently. Flush cutters are a must. I love my heavy duty Olfa knife. But one thing I use every single time, my self healing mat.

I don't use my blades nearly as often as you do, but I haven't changed a blade since I discovered I can just... sharpen them? I've only had to break off a piece when the tip has chipped, but aside from that I've extended the life of many by sharpening them with a regular blade sharpener

Yeah you can do that, I’ve actually just swiped mine across 800 grit sand paper to sharpen mine, but the blades are so insanely cheap it’s not a big deal for me to swap them, which only happens maybe once a month per knife

I need some guidance on how to make small hill with boulders. I have a angkor wat type temple on the hill...but, can't figure out how to fill in the hill. I do have pre-made bug boulders but can't figure out how to add them to my project. If I can share my project pictures here...

How can I share my project photo with you to get some guidance

    • @OilersWorkshop

To be honest there is a thousand ways: expanding spray foam(“great stuff” is the brand name) sprayed over a chicken wire shape and then carved down to the shape you want and then covered in pre mixed tile grout(see my Star Wars desert city building tutorials for that), OR carviing expanded white packaging foam to a general shape and then hitting it with a hot blow dryer to shape it more and then covering it with plaster or mod podge with with water or tile grout or paper mache(see my “how to make convincing rock formations” video, you can apply the same techniques but over a large flat area)

@OilersWorkshop ok I will look over but it would help when a pro would look at your work and suggest something over me trying something and failing and doing it again. So, just wanted to share my photos to you and then recommend how to fill in the structure of the mountain around my caves and then stick on the pre-made boulders I bought from online.

Leasing through trial and error is better for your long term ability tbh

Regarding scissors - do not ever “borrow” the wife’s sewing scissors for your crafting projects - or be prepared to find yourself in a divorce court.
