I was trying to emphasize that its not recommended to be using circular motions. But what you use to clean is just as important. Sorry if it was confusing
I had a classic for approximately 4 years since launch and bought the pro after it, my classic is still going strong only problem I encountered was the eject touch screen it kept spitting discs at me until I taped the current using electrical tape.
Dutch Van Der Linde that spitting out discs problem is caused when you force disk in or out, So when you wanna put a disc in, gently bring it up to the drive and when it takes it in let go of the disc. When you are taking a game out eject it wait until its fully ejected (it won’t fall out), Then grab it and put it in the case or wherever.

I saw in facebook that his ps4 got into trouble and lost all his save files. It was my first to hear that you can transfer saved files to usb sticks or external hard drives
I use PS plus cloud storage since I have two ps4 consoles in two different rooms in my home. Makes it easy to pick up where I left off in another room.
Microfiber cloth may be safest way to clean a disc but who has time for that. I just pull my t-shirt out the one I'm wearing at the time and give it one gentle pass over it. Never failed me yet. Surely I'm not alone on this one!?
Little tip, GameStop won't take a PS4 wiped, if you're going to wipe it start it back up and set it up fresh, otherwise they have to assume you stole it
Game discs have a hard coat layer on them....they rarely scratch from the occasional wipe...even with a t-shirt. Back when dvd and cd discs were used it was common to have scratched discs even when you protected them with your life... But now all of my games are like new and even most used ones from 2nd hand stores are like new. They aren't as fragile these days.
Im expecting captain obvious things on the list like "dont set your ps4 on fire to prevent overheating" But im actually impressed with the list and it's very informative. Thanks!
Back at ps3 my country did not have the ps plus service yet so I ended up creating an american one to activate plus to enjoy the monthly games as they were quite valuable at the time. But that meant i couldnt actually save my game data on the cloud from main account. Then ofc the only issue my ps3 ever had was a corrupted hdd, couldnt fix it at all inside the ps3 system so i had to replace it. Lost every freaking save i ever had, sad times. Didnt feel like playing for months. So careful if you guys run plus outside of your main as the cloud service can save you from some future headache. Maybe the hdd data could be savagable if i sent to some tech assistance, but after replacing i felt it was not worth it anymore, life goes on...
I have my PlayStation 4 slim on a non closed TV cabinet. Where it is is not big but has space for the air to flow. Is that ok? I live in a small house and don't have enough space.
The most important one is ps plus. My ps4 is 7 years old never had one issue with at least 6 hours a day running and all of sudden my ps4 was stuck on safe mode a few days ago and had to completely restore my hard drive. I did have 2 other accounts so i lost all my saved data but my main one was saved because of ps plus saving my data. Definitely worth the membership.
Never understood the people who just leave their discs sitting around on coffee tables or on the TV stand to get scratched or smudged. It doesn't take any energy to put the disc back in the case.
I use to trade in previous consoles for the new one but always regretted it later. Over the last few years I've repurchased PS1, PS2 and PS3. So my PS4 is here to stay when I purchase the PS5. Random comment but I thought of it when you mentioned it.
2 things folks did I see him using condensed air can for blowing away dust. You do know your just blowing it all around inside & not cleaning it all. Saved data in online storage under application saved data management. Will reload ALL your stuff back I don't this to test it out & it does work.
As for number 2, I wouldn't worry too much if you sell it to GameStop as they reset and erase everything on the console(factory reset) in front of you.
