You’re so funny, your oops, remind us all to make those notes, but in the end I still say “design choice” 😂❤ Love the green top. Unless I truly have to have thread on my serger thread match I use a neutral gray thread. I only have black, white, gray, beige for my serger.
Thank you, glad to give everyone a laugh 😆 Yes, I think a grey or maybe beige would blend into most fabrics, and really, who’s looking that closely anyway?!
Thank you, I wasn’t sure about the green but it is in my colour palette (I’m a winter) so it’s lovely to hear you like it on me ☺️ I was surprised what a difference shortening the other top made, I hope I’ll wear it a lot more now!
Love the green stripes and it does look nice under your jumpsuit. The bobbin hack doesn't seem worth the time and effort. Too bad the coverstitch machine takes cones and you can't just use thread. Happy you are ready for the holidays and can enjoy them. I feel the same about the season and new beginnings.
Thank you! 😊 having worn it for a day I’m really pleased I had the idea to try them together, I’m loving it! Do you know, I haven’t tried a reel of thread, maybe that would be better behaved, I should give it a go! Thank you, being organised at this time of year really does reduce my stress and allow me to get in the spirit. I love September and that “back to school” feeling too 😊
@alwaysinthecraftroom I don’t think I’d ever get a cover stitch machine as I learned to use the stretch stitches on my machine and don’t think I’d have the patience to learn a new machine. Must be a week for bobbin fun. Saturday 30th November I finished a quilt top and celebrated winning bobbin chicken with about 7 inches of thread falling off the bobbin as I removed it to clean the bobbin area. Then yesterday as I finished sewing a row of squares onto a 2nd quilt top I started to press the seam and found I’d lost a 2nd round of bobbin chicken… and of course it was my last wound bobbin… so I needed to wind more bobbins before I went ahead and finished the seam, about 15 inches (on a 60 inch seam). I then sewed one more seam so the quilt top was 3 quarters finished. I had hoped to finish it today but had to go to the pharmacy for the repeat prescription of my daily meds… 45 minute walk each way… so I decided tomorrow I’ll finish sewing the top and baste the layers together ready to quilt it. Just remember “the bobbin fairy giveth and the bobbin fairy taketh away”
@@alwaysinthecraftroomI’ve used the thread spools and they work pretty good. With the bobbins maybe place the bobbin in a cup and let it unwind loosely there. There’s usually a way to get them to work. I use them all the time and I know exactly what you mean about them catching. Usually I’m lazy and I just keep an eye on it and fix it before it gets tight and snags. You can never match those hems completely (at least not to my fussy standards lol) even if you bought all the serger threads.

Both tops look fab and the green real suits you 😊

Moon thread is wonderful for over lockers/cover stitch machines, 1000m for around a pound and lots of colours
