YES THIS WILL BE MY NEW FAVORITE DOCUMENTARY TO FACE THE EARTH! ❤
OMG THX FOR THE PIN I LOVE YALLS MUSIC ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Lego Dude:I agree!
I hope it actually goes in depth. The Beach Boys' story doesn't end at Pet Sounds
For some Mike Love Appreciation then you simply just type in the following title above…. In defence of Mike Love Part 2
Agreed, as someone who thinks their best work was their 70s output.
The seventies seems to be an amazing and dramatic era for the Beach Boys and it unfortunately never gets covered in any documentaries for some reason.
Sunflower and Surfs Up deserve so much more attention
Yeah it be interesting to hear to SMiLE story
Brian Wilson is a genius.
It’s saddens me to think of a brain like his being struck by dementia.
Correction, Brian is God!
@GrandPrixDecals, I relate. I watched an old clip of Jimmy Kimmel interviewing Brian and thought to myself, “How does it feel to interview a God?”
he's a modern bach or beethoven
And a very hard worker.
I hope they include stuff from the “Summer in Paradise” sessions. I want to see Van Dyke Parks recording that accordion into ProTools Beta.
I want to know why Mike Love thought it was a good idea to rap about lusting over women as 50-year-old man. At least Brain's, with his rap song about women was classy.
@@notchuckproductions5029LOL classy but even as a fan who loves everything they did, Brian’s rap is the pinnacle of awful 😂 (still know every word for some reason!)
@@jimfusco Smart Girls is so bad that it’s good to be hontest, like it’s so bad that you can’t help but listen to it over and over agin, to the ponit you begin to like it ironically . While summer of love is just bad in a un fun way. That being said It’s not as bad as John Stamos’s cover of Forever
@@notchuckproductions5029 Funny how I'm the opposite. Summer of Love is horrendous, yet I find it hilarious. Here's Mike trying to be cool yet failing miserably. It's even better when you watch the Baywatch music video in all its glorious cringyness. He's only embarrassing himself. Smart Girls? Brian rapping is a funny concept but the completely disjoined sampling of the Beach Boys past songs make it unlistenable. Plus, though Brian said it was in fun, it still reeks of Landy to me. It feels like Landy's embarrassing Brian. I hate it so much (btw I don't wanna listen to Stamos Forever, Dennis suffices).
@@notchuckproductions5029, in order to be hip with the kids and sell records, you've gotta pretend that you're a teenager again (very good strategy when you're 50, very successful)
I really hope it doesn’t just focus on the surfer era, there’s a lot of really interesting history post pet sounds
yhhh i mean you could make a 12 hour docu-series on SMiLE lol
I agree!! The 70’s era 😢
Dennis only one that surfed it on...
Just play the SUNFLOWER album, which is one of the most amazing LPs in the history of popular music. So people will stop thinking they were only a surf/car/girl music band. They were among the most creative outfits in music history.
That’s also the name of the long lost Black centaur cut out of *Fantasia* in the 1960s.
@@Attmay it's also the name of a seed that baseball players put in their mouth, chew on, and spit out the shell.
Sunflower is a Masterpiece
No mention of “Ding Dang” and not even playing a 20 or 30 second chunk of “Ding Dang” in this trailer. Unacceptable.
Thank God someone else noticed
You can’t make a beach boys doc without mentioning Ding Dang.
🤣
It’s a trailer not the entire thing. You don’t even know if they’ll even mention it.
If we play it by your game, they didn’t mention Summer in Paradise. They didn’t mention Brian’s psychiatrist. They didn’t mention a hundred other things.
It's a 2 minute trailer you l00ney
You better put EVERYTHING in the documentary
It's on Disney so dont expect too much
I’m boycotting Disney- you know.( Johnny Depp). I’ve been disappointed, countless times before - the narration on the audiobook “ HEROES AND VILLAINS” is atrocious, for instance. And then FINALLY a book exclusively devoted to CARL DEAN WILSON, and he left out SO MUCH. I’m going to Google who is producing this.
It's PG-13 and on Disney+. They certainly will not.
Hey little tomboy?
@@darthjesus420 LMAO fuckwits are gonna get pissed and think Brian's a sexist creep, because what you've written years ago determine who you are today, remember? Again, PG-13 and on Disney+. They won't include that, there will mostly likely only be a passing reference to MIU by dismissing it as something awful along with LA and Keeping the Summer Alive (also meaning absolutely no mention of Summer in Paradise, not because it's inappropriate or insensitive but because it just sucks).
Excited to watch this. But SERIOUSLY, we need a super in-depth multipart “Beatles Anthology” style documentary with just the band and friends/family/coworkers, not journalists, “rock historians” and irrelevant musicians born after the fact. Love and Mercy❤
This would be great
I think that the people behind "The Beach Boys" doesn't want you to know much about that, they just wanna sell and keep the California dream image, don't mess with the formula.
150% yes
100% . I didnt see any of their contemporaries talking .
Too late for Brian to contribute barring some medical miracle.
If Mike Love agreed to be in it, then is not the definitive Beach Boys doc.
If this doesn't extend beyond Smiley Smile, then take it back to the drawing board. We've all seen the early stuff.
I will cry if shortnin' bread doesnt make an appearance
same
yeah god only knows is good, but shortenin' bread is the magnum opus of the beach boys fr fr
@@finnthesafetypin6142 mamas little baby likes shortnin shortnin, mamas little baby likes shortnin bread
@@finnthesafetypin6142And from the underated LA light album
@@StephenHaaugh realllllll
One of the greatest bands, ever
*The greatest band ever
@@camiosoto you
my favorite rock band
It's not even close...
After The Beatles
Give me Brian, or give me death
Actually, I prefer if they didn’t drag Brian out of his home for interviews that would probably make him feel immensely uncomfortable. The poor dude has been through a lot over the past several years. We all ought to leave him alone and let him have the peace and rest that he desperately needs right now.
@@ThereAreThoseWhoCallMeTimjust recently lost his wife too, let my man chill with the kiddos
@@yahiryellow1 he'll be 82 on june 20th .
@@ThereAreThoseWhoCallMeTim The guy just did a 2 hour documentary by himself just talking. I think eh can handle it.
If not. Donät make a Beach Boys doc with Mike Love telling the story.
Yeah I don’t want to put any more pressure on Brian than he deserves but I do not trust Mike Love to speech for the entire story of the band
THE TIME HAS COME
GOAT American band. The facts: between the 1960s and 2020s, they had 37 songs reach the US Top 40 (the most by an American group) with four topping the Billboard Hot 100; they also hold Nielsen SoundScan's record as the top-selling American band for albums and singles.
Wikipedia was your source 😉😉
Growing up with their music was phenomenal..
A new song release was like Christmas for me…those early songs…”She Knows Too Well”, “Don’t Worry Baby”, Fun Fun Fun”, “I Get Around”, “Dance Dance Dance” et al carried me through school college military etc.
I went to Hawthorne High and lived down the streetfrom the Wilsons. The Beach Boys played my older sisters prom in ‘68
Lucky You…
Oh Wow-
What GREAT memories-
You are really one fortunate person.
You suck.
PET SOUNDS is all time best for me.
Gonna spoil the film for you:
The Beach Boys invent Surfing
Brian Wilson creates Pet Sounds, he's also like a genius or something
Has a mental break down and falls asleep until he wakes up in 1975 with there being absolutely no music between that time period.
And like, put in something about Smiley Smile being a duct taped version of Smile and you'll have the your standard Beach Boys documentary 😁
God Bless America
I hope not, but you may be speaking the truth.
My little baby loves shortinin shortinin...
Don't forget that they did a great comeback when they released what became one of his greatest hits, Kokomo! Thanks to Mike obviously.
@@masterman7166it's a Love Thing 😎
they should make a movie about Dennis' life it was crazy .. he had an interesting life
Born in 62, this music defined my childhood! I still listen to them , especially the phenomenal Christmas Album!❤️🎄
Lots of interview time with Mike. Where's Brian?
If you wanna see Brian I recommend Long Promised Road documentary. He's slipping away from us.
I guess this is yet another Disney movie about a villain who was “just misunderstood.“
Their involvement is going to make the parts about “Heroes and Villains” interesting.
Time for modern music to LEARN they have not even 1% on the Beach Boys.
There is ONLY one Beach Boys.
Beach Boys is BEYOND music. It is music connecting to God.
RIP Carl and Dennis.
It better cover past 1973 or I’m rioting
guarantee there will be NO mention of Thump Wilson AT ALL.
Not much said about the beach boys from sunflower till the end of the 70s which is the era of all my favourite beach boys songs.
May The Beach Boys live forever!
The United States of America has his own powerfull rock´n´roll Band - A CLASSIC NEVER DIES
What a thrill, another Beach Boys documentary! The quality looks about the best I've seen yet!
I was played their records as a baby. Will always be so special to me ❤
I’m so excited that I’m listening to their music right now
Cool! Looking forward to a BluRay release of this one!
Saw The Beach Boys September 21, 1964 in concert with Brian, Dennis, Carl, Mike, and Al onstage. Played at the Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, TN. Fabulous performance!
I think the bridge in “wouldn’t it be nice.” Is so perfect and beautiful.
Love this! Blessed to see them in concert in Tampa, Florida 🏖️
My favourite Musicians of all time!!
All summer long!
I absolutely love the Beach boys summertime music and everything and just gets me pumped
I dropped everything to watch this rn
the surf songs, the car songs and the few relationship songs are my happy songs.
Each one was like Christmas…
The Beatles and the Beach Boys on Disney+ YEEEEESSSSSS
I’m very happy Don Was is involved.
Love the beach boys, such amazing harmonies
Just watched this excellent documentary of The Beach Boys! My parents were South Bay locals so I grew up listening and knowing a lot about The Beach Boys. I also knew that Brian Wilson was a musical genius but sadly the media in the 70’s made it sound like he was a big time addict and that’s why he didn’t tour. They really had so much success because of his talent. What I didn’t know was The Beach Boys studio band. I love that Ryan Tedder of One Republic and todays hit maker attributes the touring band ability to do what the studio band could do and that The Beatles couldn’t do that so they stopped touring. That says, a lot. I also found it interesting that Carl became the touring leader, while Brian led the studio. My one big question that wasn’t answered and wasn’t aware of until the movie was how was Murry Wilson able to sell The Beach Boys catalog without their knowledge. Mike Wilson said, he and Brian had fired Murry as their manager because he was so difficult. My mom who is their age remembered, the media said, The Wilson brothers grew up in a abusive home, which wasn’t to shown in the movie. I loved all the old pictures, movies and interviews. I wish Brian Wilson was in better health to be interviewed and understand the credit he has had on Southern California living and the music industry. Thank you to everyone person involved in creating The Beach Boys music.
Huh. Seeing Mike Love but not Brian Wilson here makes me wonder about the approach this is going to take.
Brian is featured being interviewed (apparently) but he's notoriously quiet and shy, where you can't get Mike Love to shut up. Hopefully he's featured as promised, and please god can it be a true depiction of the band and not some squeaky clean tale omitting the infighting and drama
@@cameronmac8928 Brian is suffering from dementia. He is under a conservatorship. Years of years of putting things into his body that he shouldn’t have have taken their toll.
The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson…now, then and forever! Always! Thank you Brian for making such memorable and absolutely fuuuucking gorgeous tunes over and over again! You are truly an absolute genius! Once in a lifetime…
Increíble, mi segunda banda favorita 😮❤
Love the Beach Boys!

CHRIST IS KING 👑
I'll watch anything about the Beach Boys.... LOVEM!!!
what a lovely birthday present
Me too jaja
YEAHHHH I Can't wait for this
There have been a lot of great beach boys documentaries done. i hope everyone is involved. i don't hate Mike as much as some do, but i hope this brings even more new fans like the elvis movie did. There one of the most timeless groups in music history excited for this..
We WILL be there! Long live The Beach Boys
I was shocked when I saw a picture for this documentary on Disney+ yesterday. The Beach Boys were the first American 60s band I introduced myself to before The Beatles.
The first song from the Beach Boys I listened to was *Help me Rhonda* .
I loved it, thank you 😊
so excited for this! i love the beach boys 💙 🌊
I honestly can't wait ❤🎉
i’m so fucking happy
I CANT WAIT! saw them live twice they are incredible. still today their music is so unique. LONG LIVE THE BEACH BOYS FOREVER
They better add THE ENTIRE LORE FOR THIS DOCUMENTARY
Saw The Beach Boys about 4 or 5 years ago in Bournemouth UK and obviously not all the original members but they were fantastic sounded as crisp as there records a band that will never be forgotten as they're sound is unique 👌
Ya lo quiero ver!
Saludo desde Guadalajara, Jal. Mexico 🇲🇽
I wish they would do a full length documentary on the Love You album.
I'm both excited and reluctant.
I love The Beach boys, greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
For me the Beach Boys albums come out in summer
For me every time a song came out was like Christmas
Don't forget about the Wrecking Crew. They were a Huge part in making the Beach Boys music, as well as many other well known bands they made the music for.
Already can’t wait 😝
For once, I wish is was out on movie theaters. I have seen so many documentaries on this group. I don't have Disney +. Will it be available on dvd/blu ray or Amazon Prime? I just love watching/listening all the Beach Boys' songs like I Get Around, Good Vibrations, 409, In My Room, California Girls and California Dreamin.
Wow! I cannot wait to see this documentary!
Cant wait
Yes!!!!
This documentary will be epic! 😮
Can’t wait
Will it eventually come out on Blu-Ray?
INCREÍBLE 🙌🔥
Can't wait! 😃🎵🎶
I CANNOT WAIT 🔥
In 1968 me a 2 friends were all 18 years old and we drove from New Jersey to California. We all agreed that Cali had the most beautiful girls we had ever seen. Every time you turned your head you saw one.
To quote a good song from a good album, "it's about time"!
What is crazy for me is that I started with Pet Sounds and went backward and forward. Little did I know how different they were before and after.
I hope that the "lost Beach Boy" David Marks (1962-63 and later years in the 2012) is in the interviews.
I was lucky enough to see Brian before corona in Tokyo Japan perform Pet Sounds. It was amazing! Also saw Mike love in Osaka a few years before, also a good show. The original genius. For me Brian Wilson and Jeff Lynne are the 2 major geniuses of music...as they took music to new heights.
Even though I doubt anything will be said in this documentary that I haven't already heard before, I'll watch it anyway.
the beach boys are so much more than surf rock, theyve made some legendary love songs as well as contributing some great tracks (mostly brian wilson) to psychedelic rock
The greatest band ever! I don't have access to Disney. Hope to be able to see this documentary some other way. I've been a die-hard fan since I was about 14 years old back in the mid 70's. I enjoy most genres of rock music but the Beach Boys have a special place in my heart. I will never forget the time in the mid 80's that I was fortunate to meet some of you through a mutual friend. Brian, Mike, Alan stay safe. RIP Dennis and Carl. Heaven has the best music right now.
If this is 2 hours why bother.. it should be as long as GetBack
I am hyped for this
This is Shortenin' my bread
I'm sold.
Important documentary of one of the creators of the best pop music in America ❤
Maravilloso. Primero el documental de Los Beatles y ahora de Los Beach Boys...que alegría.
Love 'Pet Sounds', but 'Carl and the Passions - So Tough' is my all time favorite BB album.
do we actually need this? I mean it seems like it's just a re-hash of a pretty well known story that has been done before and better, through so many books. Honestly I'd love to get behind it as the Beach Boys are my favourite band but honestly I smell a rat... and a money grab.... and Mike Love. Ofcourse he's in it lol but anway I'd just buy their records lol
Do we actually need this? No, we don't. Good Vibrations studio fragments scrambled, abused. The public gets what the public wants. This is Fairy Tale music turned into a major Disney family movie.
💯
Yeah I can't really imagine a feature film docu being worth being excited about. A docu-SERIES, however, of like 12 or more episodes would be something.
i really want to know more about 70s beach boys. Cant wait.
This looks great and very very epic I can't wait to see it 😊❤
My Favorite group
Disney + Needs all the money they can get, with all these documentaries being released
YES I CANNOT WAIT THIS IS CRAZY IM SO GLAD THEY MADE THIS
