    Nice video,thanks,on landscape mode,how do you figure the depth the fish are suspended at

      None of the Live Sonars are 3D so there is always one dimension missing. In Landscape, you know distance and width (side to side) but not depth. I use DI or 2D to determine the depth the fish are suspended.

    Appreciate the video, well done. Have you noticed much of a difference with the recent head unit updates and ML1.200?

      I have the Apex 4.130 and Mega Live 1.200 updates installed but haven't had much of a chance to fish with them yet. I was getting the semicircle Crosstalk on the Mega Live, which I had never had an issue with on the other updates, but haven't had a chance to see if I can tweak them out.

    Great video!! 👏🏻
    What do you use to get the screenrecording from the HDMI out on the Apex?

      I have a Unisheen Dual HDMI Recorder Purchased from Amazon. I can record one or both of my Helm Apex units at the same time.

      Will do. I'm thinking of doing some Trolling videos of my Mega 360 setup as well. I use Mega 360 to look ahead while the Mega Live looks back at my baits.

    Where is your transducer located on your boat, is it mounted on the transom.

      He shows you in the video. It’s on a pole on starboard side of boat.

    Do you use line counting reels

    • @SLYFishing
      @SLYFishing  2 роки тому +2

      I have line counter reels but don't depend on them. Unless you have a full spool of line, they are inaccurate. Plus, I frequently forgot to reset the counter before deploying the lures.
      I really like the PowerPro Depth Hunter braid fishing line. It changes color every 25 feet and has a "marker" every 5 feet as well. You can be very accurate with line length using it. I personally use the 80 pound version for both my A-Rigs and U-Rigs. I then use 40 pound Flourocarbon between the frame and the lures. That way, if I get hung up, I typically break the lure off before losing the whole A-Rig or U-Rig.
      Depth Hunter line is expensive but well worth the investment. The only down side is that, if you fish a lot, you need to strip off 100 feet a couple of times a year as the line will fade in the sun over time. The reason you need to strip 100' is so that you always keep the same color sequence. I like to have green at the lure and it goes green, then orange, then blue, and then Yellow... then the sequence repeats.

    Question what settings for kokanee in 120 feet in a 16foot boat with 4 downrigers and a fish hawk x4

    • @SLYFishing
      @SLYFishing  Рік тому

      I can't really say for sure. Every body of water is different and even different days on the same body of water can be very different Settings.
      The key is not how deep the lake is but how deep the fish are running. Most of the time, the Stripers I'm fishing for are between 20' and 60' deep (depending on the Barometer and time of year).
      I typically have the Mega Live physically in the 60° to 80° Landscape setting... more angled 60° setting for the deeper fish.
      I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other specific questions.

      @slydoggietn do u think it's possible. The transducer will be 2 feet away from downriggers

    • @SLYFishing
      @SLYFishing  Рік тому

      @@robertgibbs5075 in my code, my lures are trailing the downrigger gripper by at least 50 ft so it really doesn't matter how close to the downrigger the Mega Live is located. I just point the Mega Live aft pointing back at the trailing lures.
      If you are saying that the lures are at the downrigger balls, then I'm not sure how that would work.
