Me too, I've caught hundreds of them in NW Ontario but hard to find them over 5 pounds here. We need to got to the territories or northern Saskatchewan or Manitoba. Big fish heaven!
Mega live or in my case garmin live scope all the same has brought a whole new level of excitement to fishing when jigging for lakers ., I remeber the old days of bringing my vexilar in the boat with a pole to get my ducer out there 😂 sick video thanks for the entertainment 👍🇨🇦🎣
Canadians need to keep americans away from there land and keep it as wild as they can. Americans are stocking fish because they overfish the water and can't keep the lakes populated. It nice having Americans spend there money in there economy. Its hard for the govt to regulate fishers when they need to fly to lakes.

Live imaging is awesome. Nothing better when you are in the right place, right time and you get to watch the fish on the move and aggressive. Especially when it all comes together in a live video game! I might have a fishing addiction, and when I take people out for experience like this, they understand why. Have fun gripping sticks and ripping lips!

Damn, I guess up in northern Manitoba in the colder water lakes you don't even need to fish that deep for open water lakers. Doesn't look like you are jigging very deep at all. Down in the northern states you need to fish pretty deep to get to cold enough water for the lakers during open water season.

Jigging lakers is probably my favourite use of live imaging. Talk about videogame fishing!
Couple things ive learned. They can spot your bait from well over 60ft out. Theyre never alone, usually in groups of 2-3. Sometimes more for very small fish.
Awesome video Clayton! Finally got to land my first Lake Trout a couple weeks ago fishing with Mitch Yonkman. They are a blast to Jig for and the fight is amazing! Cant wait to land one megaladon Size!! LOL. Thanks for the video!
Jigging for lake trout is the BEST! I would love to take you to the East Arm of Great Slave Lake in the NWT for 5 days and show you some INSANE Lake Trout fishing we get into at various spots on the East Arm. Lake Trout heaven up there! Great video as always Clayton. Love seeing you get out and doing something other than walleye!
Great video as always . Have a question I will be going on a week fishing trip and going after Lakers . What do you recommend for the set up rod , reel line etc .. Will be trolling most of the time may try jigging for something different . I am thinking a 7.6 ft med heavy ? Thanks

Love the videos! It always baffles me how people who are right hand dominant use right hand retrieve reals and or switch hands between casting and retrieving. I can tell you were having a little trouble on the hook set/initial fight. If I remember from other videos you usually fish left hand retrieve reels? Either way great catches! I just like to advocate for people always having the rod in their dominant hand for many reasons :) tight lines!
I caught my biggest fish ever and it was a lake trout also it was my second lake trout. And my first ever salmon
Make a video , new lake , no electronics other then the camera to film and shoot a fishing video preferably targeting lake trout show the struggles and tips on jigging and locating fish

Crazy how much pressure you have to put on these fish to get them up to the boat, yet you can still pull it off ice fishing with a lot smaller rod and tackle
