    I love how it turned out! In the Philippines, we call this "palanggana method" (palanggana = wash basin/bowl). I use this a lot when I'm lazy to put on products but still want the clumping. The key is to use loooots of conditioner and squish that thing like crazy -- i'd say at least a hundred times! When I do this I dont put any products on and just let my hair air dry all the way.

  • @FourTilSunday

    Your hair turned out gorgeous! I'm still struggling to get bigger clumps. My hair always clumps in small sections, which can make my hair look very stringy at times. That might just be my natural hair texture, or it could be because I have low density hair too. I'm not sure. I haven't tried the bowl method yet because I don't have a bowl big enough to fit my head in, but I'll have to see if I can find a cheap one to buy just so I can try this. All the videos I've watched about the bowl method always have good results.

    THIS TRULY WORKS !!!!
    I tried it for the first time today ...
    I have sorta wavy curly hair.... My hair is strange it's like wavy in some spots but others it's like ringlets I dunno why🤷🏻‍♀️
    But whenever I used to do my hair the "normal" way it would NEVER come out good if you get what I mean it would ALWAYS have frizz no matter what I did & would always sorta feel crunchy it just way never right.....
    So today I FINALLY did the bowl method & I am SHOOOOOOCCCKKKKEEEDDDD ASF!!!!!
    My curls/waves are beyond defined & my hair is SOOOOOOOO SOFFFTTTT I have NEVER felt my hair THIS SOFT while doing my natural hair .... NEVER & My husband was even amazed on how it looked & how soft it was lol
    DEFINITELY worth it!!!
    ONLY CONS ARE....
    1. If you have a bad back or hips like myself I have spine problems as well as sciatica but i have a shower chair in our shower so I sit on that to help me out a little bit but that's the ONLY problem truly .....
    I guess the one of the only other things are if you absolutely hate that feeling of wet hair on your skin & hair products as well if ya get what I mean then I definitely wouldn't do it... lol my sister is like that she HATES her wet hair touching her & HATTTTTESSSS when the products get all over her neck & back I guess it just makes her extremely uncomfortable I don't blame her.... otherwise it's definitely worth it......
    I did it pretty much just like this but a tiny bit different.....
    I got outta the shower, I put my leave in + my curl creme in my hair brushed it through... Then I did the bowl method 4x & scrunch each time of course.... BUT I added some of my curling gel to the water & mixed it in there I only put a tiny tiny amount because I unfortunately ran out of my mousse so thought I'd try that & see how it goes & it worked beyond outstanding
    Then after all that I plopped my hair for about 1hour, then diffused it & walah! Look AMAZING!!
    I'm telling you WORTH THE TRY!!!

    Can you please do a video about how to get wavy hair to stay curly throughout the day? Or common mistakes that lead to waves falling out as the day goes on? I get discouraged when I start the day with nice 2Bish waves and by midway through the day you can hardly tell I styled my hair curly, it looks basically straight with a hint of waves. Thanks in advance!

    These companies Really make people believe you gotta use 100 products on curly hair. I've recently used one product and that's it best my curly hair has ever looked. Remember the influencers using like 6 or seven products are getting paid trying to sell products so yeah there's that. The rule is less is more. I agree with this method. Try not putting alot of products in your hair. Your hair will thank you I promise

    I know they say not to do it for curly hair, but brushing your hair for wavy hair while it’s in the finished state makes it have way more volume and after a few mins of having it brushed, the waves start to form again way smoother as well

    This turned out so nice! I’ll have to try this technique! I’m brand new on the wavy/curly journey so I’m still trying to learn. Right now I’m just trying to figure out how to fix wonky ends that don’t curl or pieces that don’t curl at all. Right at the root along my nape I have tiny perfect ringlets but the layer above that doesn’t curl much. The two layers above curl nicely aside from a few odd front pieces that make more of an S shape wave. I think I just don’t know how much product to use. My hair is very thick (lots of strands, the individual hairs are normal with some coarser pieces mixed in and very fine/soft almost baby-like hair at the nape of my neck, I just have a ton of hair strands on my head. My hair holds a lot of water/product for a long time. I recently chopped off 10 inches and haven’t used heat at all in about 3 years. I hope the more I continue to use these methods, my hair will train itself to go into its naturally wavy/curly form

    • @sarahs9802
      @sarahs9802 3 роки тому +3

      Your hair sounds so similar to mine! It's the most wavy/curly on the layer underneath and I have a lot of hair that takes so long to dry. Diffusing really helps to enhance my waves so the weight of the water doesn't pull the waves out. Getting more layers on the top of my hair also helped. I've been wearing my hair natural for 1.5 years now and it's definitely gotten more more consistently each with time! 😊 Now I can wear it for 3-4 days with just scrunching in a little water each morning and it's so much more low maintenance

    • @tabithagingerich
      @tabithagingerich  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for sharing your experiences! 🤍 I agree with the diffusing mentioned in the above comment ^ also, layers! It’s so interesting how different everyone’s hair is.. the amount of product used/even product distribution can make a big difference as well! The bowl method may even help with that 😁 you could also look up videos on people with that hair type! I know many people struggle with the majority of their definition being on the underneath layers of their hair!

    I would love any feedback anyone is willing to give. I am new to the wavy hair method and have been doing it for about 3-4 weeks. My hair is very long and reaches down to my tail bone. My hair is also fine. I've ended up with some really nice spirals and clumps during the process however it takes hours for my hair to air dry. Because it's so long I find it difficult to let it air dry without messing up the gel cast. I bought a diffuser. I have only dried it twice so far with the diffuser and each time I end up with nice tight waves, however it tends to flatten out within hours. If I let my hair airdry I will have waves for 2-3 days. Any thoughts?
    I'm still figuring out what works best for me obviously but I also find that my hair feels grimey from all the product. How normal is this? Is this just part of the transition phase?

      Many people do wash their hair in the shower upside down like this, it's just that with this method you're catching all the product filled water in a bowl and redistributing it back into your hair for more coverage and hydration! If you do wash upside down just be sure to rake/brush your hair away from your scalp to ensure you're not slicking your hair down onto your scalp and causing it to look wonky and tangled when you flip it back over!
