    I have a 66 ranchero and need to do this also I see you are using a 65 falcon floor pan. My research came that the 66 ranchero used the fairlane.

      Yes the 1966 Falcon Ranchero moved to a Fairlane chassis.

    good grief, im almost regretting the choices I've made with my ranchero's floor pans! lol Awesome video! Keep 'em coming! Brief update on my progress: Engine ( at the machine shop), Bell housing (check), ECU EFI ( check), undercoating ( check), leaf springs ( check) and a few other odds and ends! 2 steps forward 1 step back. I have to redo the spings on my alum heads and the seals, have to get a new cam too, water pump, flywheel and oil pan. *sigh* oh well ;)

    It's amazing what we gear heads will put ourselves through just to give an old rusty bucket of bolts a new lease on life. This hobby of ours is truly a curios pass time, but it makes for great stories, and what more could you ask for. Thanks for working through all the problems to get that floor pan in, and now that I've seen it done, I have no more excuses to hide behind, so I have to get busy on my own Ranchero. But I find myself waffling between, Thank You and Thanks a lot..... OK i'm over it ......Thank You! Great video! Well done guys.

      Golf...golf is a curious hobby. Where else to you put your balls on green grass and whack them hard enough with your stick to send them sailing? All so you can do it again. Thanks for the kind words. I actually enjoy the figuring out, the finished product.

    Great to see it fit in place finally. Lots of fighting. It’s easy for us to say this and that. But each car has its own way of coming together. I’m just glad to see another falcon getting saved!

      @@AutoRestoMod Hey don't know if I missed it but is there a demo video for this Ranchero as well? I'd have loved seeing how you tackled stuff like removing the bed cover that goes over the "back seat" part of what is essentially a station wagon. That's where I'm at and seeing how you tackled that removal and the subsequent issues around that area would be cool. Thanks!

  • @julianfields2044

    What about cutting the new floor pan across on the flat just before going under the back cab panel rather than cutting the back cab panel. you could put front part in through the door.

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  3 роки тому

      Didn't want to cut the floor. The back panel is easy enough to weld and it is kinda six of one half a dozen of another.

    Do you have any videos on patching or repairing the floor of a truck bed?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  4 роки тому +1

      We're waitng for some stuff to come down the pipe to do that. The current bed floor is for the later trucks and does not have the right spacing. But the rumor mill is ginning about some 1961-72 Bed Floor material. So keep watching!

    You could elevate the car more... Than would have clearance to go down

    • @AutoRestoMod

      Nope. vertical clearance isn't the issue. the length of the pan in the space between the front and rear of the opening.

      Yes. once it is in. All spot welds. If this hade been a hardtop or convertible, I would have been done three weeks ago. The Ranchero is the hardest one to do outside of the four door or sedan.

      STORY TIME! We have two main shows, Autorestomod and Manic Mechanic. Two different advertisers that sponsor those shows National Parts Depot sponsors Autorestomod, and this show, Manic Mechanic, is sponsored by Auto Krafters Inc. Gasoline Media is our umbrella company that covers both of the shows (and any other we do on here: Ford's Focus, Conversations With Bill and Jeff). We put both on one channel to help views on both shows. As you may know, with two subscribers, it is hard to start a new channel to do other shows. So, we put them all on one channel under Gasoline Media. We leave the other stuff in the title for the web crawlers to chew on. Of course, you won't read this far (or read this at all) so I don't know why I waste my time explaining.

    • @AutoRestoMod

      We dismantled it and used a hacksaw and then cutoff wheel to deepen the throat.

    I know I’m sitting over here armchair quarterbacking, and I’m by no means an expert. I’m also not saying this would work. Basically I’m just saying I’m not being a jerk, but could it have been possible to put it in if you had cut straight up on both sides of the back wall but left it attached across the top?? Maybe it would’ve given enough flex to wiggle it in. Just spit balling.

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  4 роки тому

      I thought about that. But the metal would have been stretched. We used up a good deal of the space we made getting the pan in. A bend that deep would have caused issues getting it back in.

    • @RealWorldGarage
      @RealWorldGarage 4 роки тому

      Autorestomod Manic Mechanic Gasoline Media not being there to see, I wasn’t sure how close it was to going in and how much you’d have to bend the wall. The biggest thing I was looking at is the amount of welding it’s gonna take to fix it.
