It was like Michigan knew exactly what play they were about to run weird.

They didn’t even play goofball, that’s a big reason your team sucks. It’s the fans that are trash, which bleeds it their team culture.

Michigan got physical this year. That's why they are where they are. They run the ball effectively because they have a great, physical offensive line that opens up holes and does not allow McCarthy to be pressured or sacked. They don't do anything fancy on offense.
They have become the B1G version of Georgia and Alabama.
Now, Alabama caught Georgia in a bad spot, similar to how Louisville caught us in a bad spot. Georgia was running on fumes by the conference championship. And even though Bama took advantage, they still only won by three points. A healthy and well rested Georgia would easily beat any of the four teams in the playoff. So let's not rely on luck. Coach Holtz spoke of Ohio State being soft before we played them, and that's because he knows that in order to beat the big boys, you have to be physically tough on the offensive and defensive lines. Coach Freeman knows that as well. Hopefully he his building our team to be physically dominant and deep. Winning begins and ends, up front.

I agree the playcall was bad, but let’s not forget Bama’s defense choked when it mattered most. When they needed a stop, they gave up the game tying touchdown

@@MichaelBarbush-bk7ek Well what do you know about calling plays? Enlighten me please. Do you even know what play I’m talking about? It was the Jaden Milroe Quarterback Sneak. Almost everyone agrees it was a bad play call. Anyways, that wasn’t even the main point of my comment. Bama’s defense choked on the touchdown tying drive

    Two points
    1) the one bad match up cost The tide. 2) let’s not forget. It is the offensive coaches job to have their players TOTALLY prepared to handle adversity. Too many times, Tommy Rees has come up short over his career in these situations. When he was at ND, and then again at Alabama.. you DONT have to have the best players across, you just have to provide the surprise to the defense that gets you the win. He sadly has not shown that ability yet. I still think he is a great coach that will serve him well into the future, to just know the creativity to think +1 plays ahead of his opponent.

    Great show as usual @tylerwojciak! I have a question for the mailbag;
I saw Sam Hartman was on the sidelines at the Sun Bowl - how could one miss him?! And yes, in MY opinion, I thought it was a bit much to see him playing "hey look at me play catch" on the sidelines.
Although I think he OWED ND to play in the game, I AM glad that his absence gave Angeli a lot of game-time experience. Seeing Hartman on the sidelines, it made me wonder... did Hartman travel to the game on his own dime, or did ND pay his way? Did he travel with the team?

It wasn't a bit much at all. Was it a bit much that he was wrestling with Freeman too? This team loved Sam. He worked his ass off for us. Just b/c Parker was a piece of shit OC, let's not take it out on Sam. There was ZERO upside for him playing in the Sun Bowl. If anyone thinks NFL Scouts are going to change their mind on Sam after having 6 years of film to watch because he plays or doesnt playin the Sun Bowl out of their minds. Glad he was on the sideline to support our guys and who gives a fuck who paid for him to go there. It wasn't your money, so don't worry about it.

I'm an ND fan...and I keep it real. Brian Kelly played a soft schedule for 10 years.
CMF had the toughest schedule the last two years since 10 plus years ago.

Well can ND win 9 to 10 games? Then they more then likely will be in the playoffs. At least for the next two years

Another slick cast, and nice job= I don't know what I or a lot of the people watching your casts would do if you suddenly weren't doing them (the grind)... Its... frightening. 😬 So - let's not talk about this again unless its like Halloween! So - 1) Respect, man. I owe you a flag or something.
2)The Alabama call was probably a good call if: A) the center had any sort of rhyme or reason to his erratic ball delivery. I mean why in god's name was there all this noise about a QB controversy when in fact they couldn't even get the ball to whoever in hell that was if they didn't have baseball level catcher experience; B)Milroe was actually Caleb Williams - he's not and sure I, like everyone else here probably hates CW, but likewise have a grudging respect for what he might have been able to accomplish in that instance; C)Alabama had the better line play - not during the whole of the game but THEN, in that last quarter - those last few minutes. If you weren't seeing/feeling that, it probably wasn't a great call, even if it wasn't terrible because of the percentages. I come up net as "it's a 'Meh' call" because there were other options that might have been better for a Milroe, with that center and line with that sitrep.
3)3rd year team for CMF sure FEELS close to making playoff... I'd say that's a good call. I mean, sure its a year out, sure we gonna have to face Elko again (Jesus Mary and Joeseph, this time he has A&M's money and its the friggin' Opener) and we have HIS former QB, but if we get by him, ok, ok and Louisville... ok, ok, and FSU... Wait where'd my limb go?
4)Even with the mistake or two the CBS broadcast crew so blew away what we regularly see on NBC Peacock, it was a sad sad sign off, knowing the next time we have a home game we're back to the back o' da bus. (sigh) Ya can't win 'em all.

His recruiting is better, but it’s not elite. Rezac, Powell, Hobbs, Hulak, Reiff, Urlacher and going after Bettis’ son, despite him being a mediocre HS WR. Those are all Kelly level recruits.

@@evan1788 that’s true. The top 5 players in the class: Williams, Carr, KVA, Lambert, Bryce Young, are elite 5* talent. Both RBs, Loghan Thomas, and Tae Johnson are mid to high 4* talent. It’s a very good class, just needed a few more players like Nelson and Scott to be elite.
