Excellent video, I went to the garden one evening and found al my turnip leaves were laced with holes, not sure if beetle or aphids, but I sprinkled cayenne pepper and garlic salt. Gone.
Would you believe I had never seen a squash borer before moving to Florida in 2014! I've been working in the garden since I was a kid and I'm older than dirt. I grew up in the mountains of virginia, along the va/ky stateline. We usually only planted 3 crooked neck yellow and 2 zucchini plants and we had more summer squash than we could eat, put up AND give away! I told my husband, I never thought I would see a day, when I would be complaining about not getting a big enough harvest of summer squash! The dang garden pest in the deep south is crazy. Do you have eastern lubbers where you live? It's a gaint grasshopper that is wholely unafraid of humans. 😳 scared the pee out of me the first time I saw one. I tried to shoo it off my patio, it looked at me like it was thinking, "bring it on old woman" 🤣
Wow! The pest pressure is definitely relentless. Honestly, I've never even heard of eastern lubbers! And judging by your description, I'm glad I've never seen one! LOL
I definitely think squashing the squash bugs is the better way....plus very satisfying 😂😂😂 thanks for posting.
My daughter says that's why they're called squash bugs ... the joy of squashing them. 😂
Untreated wood ash keeps them away -- sprinkle/blow them on the leaves top and bottom. And it feeds the plant as well in the soil.
You have a very pleasant voice.
Thank you for Captain Jack deadbug.
Im using it in my window boxes etc.
Thank you. ❤️ I'm glad it was helpful!
