Another excellent video! When I was growing up people didn't know about crop rotation. Nor did they really understand natural amendments vs 10-10-10. For most people, natural amendments were used because they were often cheap (or in a lot of cases free) not because it was better for the soil. 10-10-10 was like magic in a bag from the 1950s until just the last 15/20 years, when home gardeners started to understand the importance of good soil vs a good fertilizer.

Thank you for this video!! Can you tell me how you feed with phosphorus? Supplement or a crop? Learning so much for you! 😃

My pleasure! I use bone meal for phosphorus. 🙂I usually put it in the hole or row at planting time for whatever needs it.

Thank you so much! You’re a wealth of knowledge! Great video because I know so little about the specific nutritional needs of each crop. Just what I needed 😃 I also did your morning garden walk tip with a notebook and got SO much done this weekend. Garden is looking better than ever. Shade cloth is up, we’ve been in triple digits since middle of last month and just in time before they got too stressed. Have a blessed week!

My garlic has been in one spot for about 12 years I harvest each year and never put anything back except nutrients.
    Hard neck Russian garlic.

I don’t rotate my garlic either being that it’s such a long-season crop. I just add compost, nitrogen, and bone meal before planting again.
