I've been going on and off when it comes to starting a bullet journal. Watched a huge amout of videos about it for days now. I feel it could be for me, but feeling very overwhelmed of it all. Then I saw another video of you yesterday, made me feel more at ease and inspired, like it was doable for me. And today I watched this video - and now I feel totally clear about it and ready! I always knew it might be the perfect tool for me and my life, bu there was also this fear of just drowning in it. So thank you for ending this misery of overwhelm haha 🙏🏽❤
This is the best comment I could get. Thank you for this. It really makes it all worth it when I know someone was able to feel confident going into something that can be intimidating
I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now and I’m finally starting my first bullet journal, thank you for all the time and effort you put into your videos.
I have those galaxy tapes and use them all the time. They are really great thin tapes, but with great adhesion. The planets roll is a roll of stickers! It was my first set of washi's and I love it so much.
Thank you Mark. For some reason I always start my future log with January - It never occurred to me until I watched this to start it with Feb, that way I can have a section for 2025 at the end of it and still only use 4 pages divided into 3.
My first oder from teifossi just arrived. And i am really happy. Monday starts my third week in my very first journal. And i am combining long form with the Bullet Journal method. Works perfect for me in this stage of life. I now hoped i new about this years ago when i was overwhelmed in my life. I am creative but feel not so creative on paper. So i just started whit writing in different colors. No fonts and just a few stickers. But the method really works to not get overwhelmed even though i have to many things to do.
I would still have a January in my future log in case there is something I need to remember for Jan of the following year. Would pick it up to move forward when I do my year review. But everybody is different which is why bullet journaling is so great. Love your videos.
Thank you for the great reminder of the basics! This is perfect as I set up for 2024. My favorite, however, is that you are the boss sending a memo on submitting TPS reports 😂
Thanks for your content. New to bullet journaling. I’ve been a planner girl for years & hating my inconsistencies / blank pages. Hoping this method works better for me. Your content is simple & inspiring. Just subscribed. 🏆 I’ll be in the comments 😁
Excellent video, Mark! Bullet Journaling method explained very well! The notebook has a beautiful cover, but I have to say the uneven margins would drive me crazy 🤪.
This video is even better than the one from 3 years ago! You’re a hero. I’m hoping to set up my first BuJo tomorrow and I’ll probably just follow right along this video. Thanks so much! Main reason I want to start bullet journaling is the migrating - I keep rewriting the same shit over and over on a new to do list and it’s annoying and frustrating. Excited to see how this will work for my brain. Approximately how many times a day do you pick up your journal would you say? Do you bring it with you everywhere you go?
So happy to hear it was helpful! I use my journal everyday for work. I work remote - but when I’m in the office and before I was remote - I had it with me at work. If I go to a coffee shop or spot to work, it goes with me, but I’m not taking this Home Depot with me :-)
The best (ever) described bullet journal! Thank you for this. I have a question: if I found out today that I have to do some task in 4 days or two weeks (for example), should I write down that task on this day and put a "forward" sign to it or should I write it down in a future somewhere? Have no idea what to do in that case :D Also, how should I know how much space I need for tasks so I can continue with the next day?
Thanks for checking out the video. To answer your questions about space… you don’t really know, so you basically go as along as you need for your day. Some days that’s 1/2 a page, some days 4 lines. Use as much space as you need for what you need it for. As for the lasts… that’s where it gets fun. I prefer a weekly view for this reason. The things you have to do in a few days just go there or as a reminder. But for the daily view - you could signify with a symbol that it’s do later this week, or add a note, and then as you continue with your week, you could leave it unmarked until it’s complete. Do what’s due a few weeks from now, you could place that in your future log and then each week move those items forward as you set up your week by referencing the future log.
Thanks so much for watching. I have tried a rolling week before. Every now and again I will use it for a week or two, but then try something different. But I do like the approach.
It's all a bit confusing but I've started a bullet journal this year; that's how I found you when I was looking for more information. Can you recommend one or two nice, basic pens for the beginner? Thanks for your videos! It's fun to learn about Tiefossi, too. They're beautiful !
Hopfully this helped you understand it a little more. 2 great pens that I love are the Uniball Signo DX and a new one I’ve come to really love, the Pilot Multiball pen.
Thank you again the beginner guide. I notice that you use one bujo notebook for both personal and work. I was planning to separate my personal and work to separate journals. Can you share why you chose to combine personal and work in one journal?
Hey there, thanks for checking it out. I combine both because I have just found it to be easier as I work to keep it all together. Also, when going into work, 1 journal vs having multiple. You absolutely can keep 2 - I know a lot of people who it, but for me, I just like an all in 1.
If you keep it very basic, set up one time and just keep a daily log, you may be more successful. Once you have the core pages set up you don’t have to make them again. And same for your weekly - my advice is to keep it simple and just do daily daily rapid logging.
Thanks so much for sharing these notebooks! I've never heard of this brand and the designs look amazing 😍. Just wondered if I could ask you one question - are the page corners rounded?? I couldn't tell from the video or the photos on their website and rounded corners is a deal-breaker for me 😂 I know I could use a corner rounder but I can't face the thought of corner rounding a whole notebook 😅 Thanks!
hey there. No this paper is squared off. A little different than others and i would not recommend rounding them all. Def better things to spend your time on, haha.
Mark, you do a lot of "here's how to set up a bullet journal in this new notebook." But...what do you do after the video is done since you have your actual, "real" journal?
You know what… I totally never flipped that page. Omg. The answer is no bleed through and some ghosting. The most difficult thing with the paper is it’s coated.
so there is also a family calendar. So this bullet method is not a single comprehensive system. What other lists, books, calendars or whatever do people use to make this actually work?
@@markyourpages knowing what fixed dates are coming up, capturing all the things that need to be done and figure out when is the best time to do them. I also want to break larger projects into smaller steps and track progress on them.
EVERYONE I KNOW WHO GAVE UP BUJO DOES WEEKLY SPREAD!!! WORST ADVICE EVER!!! That way too many migration of the same task...not to mention too many unnecessary BUJO spread to make!!! Besides, EVERYBODY KNOWS IT TAKES AT LEAST MONTH TO DEVELOP A HABIT!!! The best way to maintain any journal writing is to have consistent period of short at least 10min relaxing time to meditate & ACTUALLY WRITING ENTRY!!! So weekly spread cuts the routine as instead of reflecting... he's counting cubes over & over again & rewriting task on weekly which he will transfer again on daily when he can just move it directly on another day from the original daily log entry. If he just maintain monthly system just like the original, he just needs to suffer counting & drawing lines ONCE A MONTH - 12TIMES A YEAR compared to 60 weekly spread!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with your journal and how you take on the system. Weekly logs were just an option mentioned - I showcased daily logging from the method first. Basics first, but if someone likes to try a different approach, i like to provide options.
You completely left out collections. I understand people make them confusing but they're so awesome for notes and things you want to do and remember. I also always have a period log because it's extremely important...
I provide 2 collection ideas at the end of the video, the design meetings and 1:1 pages would also be collection pages. Since everyone has different needs, I just kept it simple, but anyone can add the types they need.

That’s so awesome to hear 👏 thanks for your support and happy to be a resource for you.
Great video Mark. Best instructional bullet journal for beginners on UA-cam.
Ah, thanks so much for that compliment. That's exactly what I am shooting for
I have those galaxy tapes and use them all the time. They are really great thin tapes, but with great adhesion. The planets roll is a roll of stickers! It was my first set of washi's and I love it so much.
Good to know they stick well. I don't like when the edges start to pick up once they are laid down.

Also 5below has great stickers, went there after Mark mentioned dollar store stickers and got like three sets. Super fun for a more maximalist set up.
Some great deals there!!
I appreciate another man like myself who also bullets too. Mine is more like a sketchbook\ bullet journal hybrid. Keep up the good work, amigo 💪🏻 🖊️
Thanks for checking out the video. Love the hybrid approach !
Yeah… we need to talk about your TPS reports 😂😂😂 Great video!!! I was looking for an easy, minimal video since I have no time for doodles and decor.
Hahha, thanks for checking it out.
I love that you are a lefty!
Also - don't forget the cover sheet for those TPS reports. You wouldn't want to have to explain yourself to the Bobs. 🤣
Hahahah. Damn Bob’s

Thanks for watching - and I agree, it's the best part of the Bullet Journal
Starting getting into bullet journaling and watching your videos helped tremendously. Wish me luck!
Best of luck and I am here for you if you need anything.
This was a great video. Just started bullet journaling in October and my mind feels so much more clear now!!!
