@@ValerieinSC Its already a blessing. God intervened before he completed this house with all his resources and moved in thinking that all is well. I posted a comment about another homesteader who bought from that same company and got screwed, but I don't think Jared has time to read all these comments, He lost some time but it was a learning experience. Jared is tenacious. He's going to bounce back from this.
They settled because you have a popular channel and you could have hurt them badly.
It's really unfortunate that this has happened Jared because you and your Dad worked your butts off to make this shed into your home. Hi Jared! We are sorry this happened but thank goodness the leaks were caught BEFORE you finished your house! You are not a quitter. We have seen how hard you work. I used to work for a “real house mover”. We moved a three story house thirty miles out of town. When he talks about bracing up walls, he’s serious, and we had no sagging. It was awesome. I got to ride on top of the house. Awesome!,,

We had a 24x36 pole barn put up by a local barn builder in less than a week. We had to finish the interior. But it’s poles are cemented 4’ in the ground and built with big timbers. It withstood two major hurricanes without any damage. Just wanted to let you know one possible option.

I saw a video of a guy who did a barndo a small one for his mother-in-law and spent 18k. He did it himself. It was so cute when finished and a great investment!

We had the barn built 17 years ago for $8,000 with metal exterior and roof, and 9 foot tall sliding barn doors at each end and two Dutch door horse stall doors. No concrete. The company was in Mississippi. I’m sure the cost is a lot more today but I’d consider doing it again for a retirement cottage.
@@justcruisinmom1682 pole buildings don't have a " foundation" of the type you are thinking of. Massive poles( think utility pole, 8x8) are sunk deep into the ground, to below the frost line. The frame for any flooring are above ground level. When building a pole building to use as a home or shop, it will look like it is on stilts.

I had a roofer that gets paid after the job, do such a bad job, the shingles were crooked, like a dragons back. Lumps under the shingles, they didnt replace rotted plywood decking, didnt do half the contracted work. We refused to pay and the company owner wanted to do a few cosmetic bandaids on that bullet hole. when the roof was torn off by the next contractor ( i looked at 8 of their jobs in the area) i discovered the plywood, and i also discovered they didnt pull the entire roof off. The guy threatened to sue, I smiled and then laughed and said PLEASE sue. And expect a counterclaim for the damage you did. Still picking up nails in the yard. So NEVER back down. "repairs" are corporate speak for appeasement.

Chad at Doss Farms YT channel had an issue with their 2nd shed to house, then a mobile home, that leaked too - I'll just say the company, after all that, made it right (somehow). I sure hope your company's builder makes things right for you, too Jared!

Just saw your video! You are 💯 right. Definitely saw the back wall fold in. I really thought it was going to collapse.
We had a tornado come through last year and knocked mine off blooms. Thank God just broke some drywall for us. However it cost us around $4,000. to get it back on foundation, but we did have a foundation guy come and help us out.
My prayers are with you friend. I do know whatever you decide to do it will be beautiful. It really does my heart good to see you and your family working together for a common goal.
We are still working on our building’s right now it has taken 2 yr 8 months on ours.
I probably wouldn’t be this far along with out my brothers and sisters.
I plan on using lumber that my brother cut and ran through his sawmill. So, eventually I will have feature walls and fence soon.
I pray my home turns out half as beautiful as the home’s that I have watched you build. I always draw inspiration from your shed to house videos.

I was told when you buy these sheds to tell them you will live in it and they usually have an UPGRADE PACKAGE.. Stronger building, hurricane windows, stronger doors n door facings and better roof.

Just the Company put the burden on your local dealer, knowingly pumping out sub par units down there in the valley. (and across the State) from what I have seen myself and also heard from others. Mistakes will be made be everyone, how they are handled defines everything. A company that projects itself as one of Honor, and Pride, with premium craftmanship should NOT have to be held accountable like this, more especially after all that you and yours has done for their bottom line. Corporate should have offered you a brand new building. Period. That was the only option I would respect and the option I would expect from a company. IF they don't stand behind their products and hold those involved downstream to the same standards, I don't care to do business with them.

I’m posting this 8 months later. I’m a retired carpenter, and my advice is to build a conventional house. You have to flat lot, so you an a couple of buddies can hand dig the footers in a few days. Get a block layer to set the block , and frame it with old fashion 2x4’s etc. it’s not that hard. You’re a UA-cam watch a few videos! ! Good luck
One week or two he definitely have one roughed framed and dried in with windows and doors
