- We got 8 top players together, put them on a terrible map 100$ for the winner and chaos ensued from minute 1.

This turned out a lot more chaotic than I anticipated.
Also gave us a good look into the personalities of some of the players.

@@blaurvedrur I am pretty sure it came from TKL, one of the main caster of ogaming, the big french channel on sc2. During his esl cup cast, he loves giving stupid nicknames to the players without putting too much thought into it and no idea why but the crocodile remained !
It's probably because Bly is featured quite a lot on their channel as both his crazy gameplay and combativity are valued.

I feel that needs some hidden missions like in risk or something. every player gets a mission like "live longer than every zerg player" or "kill player xyz" for some bonus money xD

That was brilliant, had all the drama of a feature length film! Alliances forged and broken, epic betrayals, negotiations and the SC2 gameplay was cool too I guess.

DNS is the best player of 1D chess that has ever existed.
Elazer played like a snake, but one of the dumb ones that stay on the road until a truck runs them over.
This game was so sad to watch, it's like watching two persons just get continually duped by the worst parasite ever.
More like simping. It was sad.

Good Lord, this is the weirdest and diplomatic ffa I watched. I wonder why Bly didn't say anything to force DNS and Drogo attack Elazer.

This was easily some of the most entertaining sc2 of my life. My wife doesn't even watch starcraft but we both got so invested in how it played out.

Elazer with the neural parasite on Drogo and DNS
For all of his manipulation, Elazer was rather dumb for spending all of his minerals on useless spores. And then he had 5k meaningless gas leftover.
Not like his manipulation was done in a smart way or anything. He just spat out lies and the others bought it with no proof. That was very weird. And tbh I actually hated elazer's whole gameplay and banter

As a Canadian with poor memory of highschool French I enjoyed it a similar amount. The expressiveness these guys have is great

As a person who does not speak french I did not enjoy it at all....It´s kinda funny that the old "idea" that french cannot and will not speak english still holds true.

Here are my analogy. Spoiler alert.
If reading it triggers you I apologize for that. I only intended to joke around.
Elazer: The main villain of the show who told someone their plan when he was about to kill them then die because of it.
DnS: The main character. Weakest in the movie for a long time and get manipulated around for an entire movie. Somehow win because power of friendship.
Drogo: The Ex villain who became good guy after getting betrayed by the main villain and orchestrated the plan to overthrow him. Sacrifice himself for the main character in movie climax. The guy that everyone cheer for instead of the main character.
Bly: Good guy disguised himself as a villain. Dies just when he was about to get rid of the main villain because of the main character who got manipulated.
Maxpax: Bly’s childhood friend. The one who plot to overthrow the villain from the start. Dies a villain’s death even tho he was the hero all along.
Risky: The villain lackey who was the cause of Maxpax plan to overthrow The main villain.
Mana and Spirit: The side character who got killed first thing in the movie to introduce the villains to the viewer. One of them managed to reach Bly before he dies to inform him of the atrocities committed by the villains.
Really enjoyed this! It needs some Hunger Games type stuff to keep things moving. Like random enemy waves from co-op, prizes awarded by twitch community, etc. The more I think about this, the more I realize how amazing it would be. Someone mod this please!
I don't know if it's possible but this setup with the donation mechanics of Twitch Trolls Grant would be amazing

Off topic, but I just thought of an idea for BGMWSS: The death ball - or wait, better: "Death's Balls" - All of your units must be round. That means archons, disruptors, oracles, and cannons, in any ratio. You can also have one "doorman" - a zealot, stalker or adept holding the wall in the early game.

This FFA is so cool actually. It is not only about making best decisions on the map how to win, but those political (or well, dunno how to call them) alliances. I am so sad for Maxpax and Bly, but damn, even though we all can agree that Elazer played really that dirty, BUT like there is no interesting book/film/game without antagonist, for what actually I respect Elazer (even if I totally hate that playstyle, it is actually as a viewer fun to watch.).
You know, this FFA felt more like Mafia/Among Us than your Archon games! And, this is actually so cool, like how the best players make decisions, that they would never do in their daily life of progammer. Man... Harstem, please, organise more of that, it was actually a brilliant game.
Even the the last part of the video, where players were just chatting, IT WAS STILL INTERESTING TO WATCH.

I'm convinced that it would have been faster for Spirit to go CC first, and float the new CC over to the island that it would have been for him to float his main CC.
That game was fun, love how MaxPax blamed Risky near his death.
Best part of these type of games is the complete pandemonium of first 5 minutes

@@TheYxccxy we need a community funded FFA tournament. I'm sure this might be better than IEM. IEM and other tournaments always the same, favored players to win it all usually makes it to finals... In FFA, no one knows.

However, I think a lot of it just works, because everyone is derping around a little and is in it for fun.

Absolute fantastic video. Great to see the less formulaic side of starcraft 2, i enjoy these a lot more than the really efficient 1v1 strategies.

I'm a solo artist, and in 2018 I came out with a song called "creatures of the sea" made take a double take as to what I was watching when you say this AMAZING new intro! Love the stuff harstem.

When i play there is hardly any action until like 6 minutes in, but when the pros play there are a billion armies trampling each other at minute 5
I made some FFA maps with most of the gas moved to the middle so you have to fight for it, and some renewable resources in the center so there are no stalemates. Was pretty fun so far. Called Gas Rush Canyons and Gas Rush TalDarim Alter after the AOE2 gold rush maps.

Maybe next time put color coded names on the screen, at least in the beginning. Was very hard to follow who is who when there were 8 players on the map.

Love FFAs! There are maps that force players to fight though. That would make it even better. They give units or resources for controlling the middle.
And this is how British Empire achieved historical world dominance. Home base. . . on an island. . .

I love how harstem always criticizes stalkers, and also always builds them more than any other unit.
This FFA is worth viewing, contrary to most FFA's.
I think in a mass player game like this, protoss becomes the best. Batteries and tempests for max range and max healing.
Back in brood war days, if people snitched out other players in an ffa, everyone would team up and kill that player, then return to neutral corners and resume the ffa.
