@@syaondri Actually the Fuso military isn't exactly the IJN in the Strike Witches universe; it's culturally much different and it's military tactics and battle philospaphy is vastly different.
Heck Karlsland is culturally basically WW1 Imperial Germany with WW2 weapons, uniforms and some tactics.
@@syaondri no worries: I do a lot of lore diving on strike witches and that was just a sliver of info I found about the lore and world building of the strike witches series
@@syaondri Well a little bit of the Strike Witches wiki, going to helma.us, reading a lot of other various strike witches doujinshi, manga, light novels and buying and translating several official fan books from japan with the help of websites dedicated to the import/export of japanese media to overseas, or ebay if I'm lucky... as well as paying very close attention to the details in the anime
I'm something of a Strike Witches Lore keeper in this regard.
@@syaondri well to be honest I can't so much read Japanese personally, but I do implement some decent text scanning and translation apps software and am in contact with people who can read and translate japanese.
But yeah: I manage to find, get a hold of and read a lot of various materials about the series; so it helped to broaden and deepen my knowlage on strike witches to a degree that I think is beyond the scope and extent of most fans of the western fandom, or at least from my experiences and interactions with the majority of the western fan-base.
As it is though: I'm happy to share any and all info I've gleaned from the series from other fellow fans of the series in the western fan-base if anyone is curious.

Do witches have some kind of immunity to cold? the air at high altitudes tends to be exceptionally cold to the point of freezing, and if you combine this with the wind chill from high-speed flight it is a miracle they don't turn into ice...

Yeah, they have. Their magic defends them not only from enemy attacks, but from cold too. There's an episode when one of them run out of magic and got a kind of hypothermia.
Also, they have no pants. But maybe their undergarments are thermal, so...

Pure personal opinion: Brave Witches is just worse than Strike Witches.

One thing I never understood about this anime is why they dont wear pants when they arent fighting. I could understand them not wearing pants due to those turbines they wear ontheir legs, bit outside of combat it just looked silly to me.
