Stangray DB4 hybrid sounds killer, compression and Jangly top end of the Stangray plus an effects loop and PPIMV but with all the chewy midrange, breakup, and bass punch of the DB4, lez go!
Can’t wait for the X-Ray to come out! Fingers crossed that it’ll be offered in a head version, I think it would sound AMAZING through my Dr Z 2x12 with Blues.
I just watched this today and had no idea a new amp was coming. Fantastic! I use my Maz Jr on my channel and at my gigs pretty much exclusively. All my videos over the last year have been the Maz. My Z-Lux mkii arrives this week! You guys such a great company.
@@DrZAmplification looks grey in the video, I guess silver will have to do... haha Is that the final production piece or will the whole thing be silver?
Interesting to think about the boutique amp market and 4x12 cabs. As a player the modern modelers are most convenient but the presence of a 4x12 is so viscerally satisfying. Z amps and lots of other boutique brands are popular with smaller speaker configs. It’s the form factor the market wants. That said…hey Z go whole hog and do a run of 100W heads with full stacks! Then some bass 8x10 fridges for good measure
I have a Marshall bottom, I switched out the 75's - excellent speakers as well - for Greenbacks. It was a good choice and I love it. Although I sometimes think they are a little too sugary sweet, and maybe not enough snap(?) for lack of a better description. What about 30 watt Anniversary?
I think it's whatever you get used to. Like if you usually play with reverb and then it isn't there, you miss it. If you play without and then add it, it feels like something clouding the clarity of what you are playing, at least to me.
In these days of modelers and fakery, it's great that you're still building REAL old-school tone generators! God Bless!
Stoked about the X Ray. Can't wait to check it out
Great AMA Doc, looking forward to the X-ray

You are a wonderful soul Dr Z!!
I got a EMS and it rocks. Love it. Playing it after playing my Marshalls reveals all the things my Marshalls lack. Thanks for your compassion.
Fun Z!

indeed it would!
Z plus through the 4x12 sounds great wow
Pumped for the X-Ray and keeping an eye out for pre-order availability. Appreciate the AMA series Doc!
Super hyped for the X-Ray!!

Heynewguy (Ol’ Bill) checking in from the Swamps of New Jersey!
Very excited about the X Ray, just wish it got the red treatment like the stagray and Z-28 Mkii.
you'll have to settle for Silver!
Ohhhhhh…..silver, eh? 😊

@@ampguy66 Nice collection of amps on your profile picture! Silver DB4 with wooden panel was that custom made for you?
What else you got?
I just wish I could get one in stock. CME sells out in a flash.

Sir one of your amps would be a great prescription for any kind of sickness 😁

Creamback H75 will give you some authority back to the attack. The greenbacks can be a little soft on the transient
Thanks, Doc! @@DrZAmplification
Cool intro
Please explain to me this strange animal that plays guitar but doesn’t use reverb?

Reverb sucks!
So Nova is from a Chevy Nova? 👍👍👍
yes
Will there be an X-Ray head available too or just the combo?
...not decided quite yet
@@DrZAmplificationfingers crossed for a head version!
Can I get my X-Ray in one of those red 2x12 Bluesbreaker cabs!?!?! 😉
...we don't have any of those anymore...
@@DrZAmplification That doesn’t sound like a definitive “no.” 🤣
