This sucks. Another way for Big Brother to track us. Anyway, it won't stop my husband from visiting his parents in Trecastagni. We love your show, by the way, and so happy we caught you live today! We know Sicily like the back of our hand but we might take your tour just to buy you a granita.

Tip- wear comfortable shoes/sneakers for walking! Always look down at the road you are walking on as it is easy to trip or stub your toe like I did.

Stamping your train ticket. My mother and I didn’t know that we were supposed to do this. In usual Italian fashion, there was no signage to do so ( if there is we didn’t see it ).

Really great tips! I like Alfred’s encouragement to be adventurous! I’d also like to mention to take a lot of care when crossing the roads in Sicily. When there is a “zebra crossing” with the black & white stripes in the road, don’t just walk out because the drivers don’t always slow down or stop for you. It’s very different in other places like the UK - when drivers see pedestrians near the crossing they always give pedestrians priority & let them cross. It’s a different way of doing things in Sicily (not a criticism but you do have to be alert)

Very beautiful, what we like is ice cubes and straight Lemoncello don't cut with water and sugar. 96 % percent 2 to 3 oz mix all the rest.

I think you should do a show on traveling throughout the Island. Like how to get from Catania to Taormina or even Cefalú?

I see no need to have a local phone if all you want is to talk to your family in the US. I’m Brazilian and often go to Brazil. I put my iPhone on airplane mode and use my WhatsApp free of charge. If I want a local number I simply buy a cheap phone and put a SIM card Tim. I’m traveling to Brazil next month and this time around I’m on a plan $10 per month for 3 days call to the U.S using Verizon. Regarding Visa I use my Brazilian passport which does not require any visa going to EU. Thank you guys for the nice videos on Sicily. A friend and I are coming there in Sept/October. She was born in Naples at the U.S. Base. We plan on enjoying with an open mind.

Regarding cellphones: in May 2022 I bought a SIM card 30 euros and 1 month plan 10 euros from the TIM store at the train station in Roma. I chose TIM since y'all said they have good cell coverage in the south and especially in Sicily. When I return in a few months I'll just pop that SIM card back in my phone and pay another 10 euros... I hope!

I have my SIM card from last year. I insert it when I land in Italy in a week. Can I pay from my phone or do I need to go to the TIM counter or Tabacchi ? Grazie!

I'm not sure. Since I'm not too tech savvy and am not super proficient in Italian yet I'll probably just go into a store.

I learned that in some Italian stores, if you don't wear the disposable gloves they provide in Produce Dept, they will sure give you an ear full!

Hello sweet friends, late tuning in. However, just wanted to ask about what I'm reading about Italy being overtaken by folks coming from Africa...is this the truth? Please advise. Also, we are reading that Europe is no experiencing a rise in COVID, is this fake news, or is it so and are there mandates in place for folks to get Vaxed?
