Great tour. My parents are from Pachino. They moved to Canada in the early 50s. They returned to Italy and Sicily many times always bringing back a small piece. They brought back cuttings of a white mulberry tree and a fig tree which they nurtured for over 30 years and we still enjoy the fruit from those trees. My niece took a cutting of their fig tree which she is planting at her house to remember them by. In 1967 my parents took my sister and I to Italy where we travelled through the summer by car starting in Pachino and making our way up to Torino/Turin. I still have memories of that trip. I've been to Italy several times since but haven't been back to Sicily since 1971. Sicily is my next trip.
I love Siracusa street market in Ortigia ❤❤❤ I was there every single day , unique fruits , vegetables and everything else , I want to go back some day , I miss Sicily ❤, you are so lucky to live there 😊
I love the fact that most of the locals look very happy in their day to day lives and celebrate with enthusiasm. Great mix of areas you covered, very informative. All the best!

It seems you forgot to touch on one important fact. Mussolini persecuted the Greeks in the are and then sent them off to fight in Greece. Fascism south of Naples was not welcomed because of so many Greeks. Everything south of Naples is part of Magna Grecia. You should discuss the Greek roots of many in the area. I LOVE Sicily.
For more from Ortigia enjoy this video
