Nice setup. I did pretty much the same thing on my Woodland Mills HM130MAX. Only diff is that I connect the hook on the end of the cable down by the bunks. That way it’s not trying to pull the log up when you get it on the mill.

Your getting it done is the main thing. I am seventy two so I don't see it happening for me as I can't walk. I see this is two years ago so I hope this finds you in good health. God bless

In response to the detractors,. I saw one man load a 2' x 10' (ish) log and saw decent slabs, worth a machine that had a low initial capital outlay.
Are there faster ways? Sure. More sorry machines? You bet. But this setup works for him and works pretty well, based on the information presented.
    Keep Calm, Sawyer on.

Wow ! You put a lot of Engineering into the trailer and loader set up I like the ability to one man show and to be able to easily store the mill In a enclosed area although it was a little difficult to see up close details of the construction it did appear to be a terriffic Fabrication as well and that wireless whinch remote was a great idea

Everything looks great and looks like it works good. Only thing is it looks like it's a little to high. The log loader works real good to. Might make it a little easier to work if it was a little lower to the ground you could do that with under slung springs on your axle. Might drop the hole trailer 4 to 6 inches every little bit helps.

That black walnut looks too young to develop colour. It’s good to store wood vertically once it’s dried. It’s better than wanting the slab at the bottom of the pile!

dont recommend using remote with harbor freight winch it keeps running for a bit winch it wont stop when released very hard to get accurate position i wired around it and added a toggle switch to raise and lower head and a simple hand winch would be much simpler to load logs i used a pipe welded to frame that another pipe with winch will fit into much faster and easier to add and remove

In my opinion this trailer is too tall to load. I would build it with a 4-inch drop down axle and just frame like a regular flatbed trailer. Wheel can be 10-12". At this way the frame roller can be just a foot from the ground.

Sorry I have to be honest, this seems like a super cheap, super flimsy saw mill. Disconnect A, connect to D , attach B to C , then remove B from C.
In my inexperienced mind, saw mill should be sturdy and level above all else.... this is neither.
Appreciate your time uploading, but wow painful to watch it’s so overly complicated.

The same could easily be said about the difference between a backhoe and a shovel. For most of us DIYers or small landowners, investing in a full hydraulic sawmill just isn't justifiable or financially prudent. Here is a creative soul who has taken the most affordable sawmill out there, and maximized it in terms of portability, and one man usability. One could commend his creativity and effort, or, one could say, well.....what you said. I prefer to compliment the ingenuity and accept that the lumber he mills will be far cheaper per board foot that any other way short of a chain saw mill with far less waste. Well done.

It kills me seeing the cost of lumber these days when I have 60+ acres of trees. I, for one, am glad to see that a cheaper band saw mill is available for folks like me who just want to repair my old barn and build a couple of sheds or chicken coops. I'll still shop around a little, but so far I haven't seen anything that bad about this Harbor Freight model that says 'absolutely not' in my mind.
