    Simon it’s not that in England you put the clock back one hour, it’s the entire western world that puts the clock one hour forward during summer time.

    Hi Simon. In this video you mentioned 50% off your chessable.com courses for 24hrs but this video came out on a Wednesday. Was that sale just for those who watched the live stream or would it be possible to extend the sale through today? Btw, loved your Botvinnik course. Thanks, Igor.

    The -10.9 evaluation happens at 18:33. Black can move their bishop to d1 forcing white to block with and lose their bishop.

  • @orusanen
    @orusanen 3 роки тому +1

    0.17:13 Could Simon play Bxc4 anyways (as he almost did)? If Rxc4 Rxd2+ black wins a pawn and exchange. If Rxa2 Bxa2 and black is a pawn up (but white has a passed pawn at b5)

    • @odin1313
      @odin1313 3 роки тому

      if Rxa2 Rxa2 Rxa2 Bxa2 b6 and white wins since nothing can stop the b pawn. In your line, Rxa2 Bxa2, then b6, and the bishop has to move, maybe Be6 ( or else b7 will win the bishop because the rook will be overloaded) then maybe white plays Rc2, aiming to play Rc6 defending b6 and attacking d6. So it seems that white gets some counter play for the pawn in these lines and that must be the reason Simon avoided it. Good question though.

      Well, like 4 or 5 years ago simon played aginst hikaru with a 1-12 score, and with 3 minute time control that wouldn’t be that long. But then again, Hikaru has probably improved at blitz more than Simon has.

    How egotistical does one have to be to take the title of "woman grandmaster". Just take the candidate master title and call it a day. Society has gone mad!
    Those titles are unnecessary, cause confusion, and defeat the purpose of the titles in the first place. But people's egos are more important, as has been the case throughout all of human history.
