Nice job Bram. In your video when you were gluing up the handle you mention the glue bottle top should last a lot longer. Well I couldn't agree more. I had the same problem with the same glue bottle. I seen a video somewhere and that solved that mess. Here is the US we have mustard by the name of French's mustard. It is in a squeeze bottle and the top will unscrew and it is an exact fit on you TB bottle. Has a snap close smaller lid with a small opening for the mustard to come out. I don't know if you have that brand so keep an eye out when in you local store for a bottle with the same thread lid and give it a try.
Hello Ed and I'm pleased that you like it That is a very good tip about the mustard bottle and it may be possible to get a mustard bottle as you described, we have lots of US type BBQ sauces, rubs and mustards here in the UK so I will definitely be on the look out for one ...I love mustard anyway lol .Many thanks for looking in Ed cheers, Bram
I have the same problem with the dispenser on the Titebond bottle. My solution is to unscrew the red top, then screw it back with a piece of thick polythene film between the bottle and the top. This makes it easy to unscrew the top in future, and I then can dip a spatula into the glue and apply to the workpiece.😀🇬🇧
Wow so nice to hear from you my friend. I been asking around in fb if anyone had heard from you ..... I am just glad you are around and on the mend. I hope all goes well for you and you take care of yourself my friend.
Thanks mate, it will probably late summer/autumn before I can make a turning project ,but I hope to make a short video explaining my absence, plus 2 or 3 short videos pottering about the garden and countryside . Take care mate and say Hi to Fatima for me

An economical, sturdy and beautiful walking stick. good job. I also like the name you gave him. (Eardstapa walking stick) See you, my friend. all the best.
Hi Bram... Lovely old job... I like the bare wood and that's a great way to get some cheap antler The idea of naming it is great... I have a couple of Hazel branches dried out and waiting to be made into walking sticks... must get on it... Interesting video as always... Take care...All the best.....Andy
Hi Andy and thanks mate, I looked at buying the dog chew antler thats on sale in pets stores but its way too expensive . Thanks for looking in mate , cheers, Bram
Very nice job, Bram! I don't need one yet, but with age advancing, I decided to try making sticks a couple of years ago. Rather than use a solid sapling for the shaft, I turned the shaft from kiln-dried dimension timber. My lathe bed is short, so I had to turn the shafts in sections that I glued together using pegs similar to the one you used to attach the handle. I turned my handles from contrasting timber using multiple axes so that I could give them a more interesting shape. Lots of fun, and now I'm ready to get old!
Thanks Louie and that sounds a good idea what you did! I'm not on Facebook anymore but if you on instagram I'd love to have a look . Cheers mate and take care , Bram
Very enjoyable to watch you make a nice walking stick Mr. Bram! I like the glimpses of countryside that peek through in your videos. Like the greenery outside your window and hearing the birds singing. The end shot of the walking stick against the gate reminded me of Bilbo's great adventure as he set off with his walking stick. :) It turned out very well! Best regards, Ab.
Hello Ab , another "The Hobbit" and "LOTR" fan eh?😃 I'm very pleased that you liked the stick mate and my little nature bits in the video.JRR Tolkien as you know was the author of those books ,he studied Eald Englisc and incorporated some in those books, that was something I didn't know when I first read them. Thanks for looking in my friend ,appreciated as always cheers and God þē mid sīe! Lovely old job Bram, I was one of those who questioned removing the bark but it came out looking great. Thinking about something similar for garden tools. Take care Geoff
Hello Dennis ,I have been very ill mate since the autumn, after many scans and blood tests it was found that I had a blood infection and a mri scan showed that I have cancer in my prostate and a nasty condition called poly myalgia rheumatica. However anti biotics cleared the blood infection and steroids are helping with the poly myalgia rheumatica. The cancer is in the very early stages and treatable ,the poly myalgia will take a fair while to get better but I am glad to say I’m slowly on the mend. Thanks for looking in mate, Bram
A great walking stick, as you said ideal to harvest from a briars or two in a few months, unless the council has cut them all down like they do here. I like the Saxon association it must have better than what we live through today. 😀
Hi James and thanks , same everywhere mate but plenty along fields where there are hedgerows. _Pleased you like the Saxon connection .I am thinking of doing a bit more in the future and hopefully a bit more specan Eald Englisc. Thanks for looking in James appreciated as always.
Thanks Rob and pleased that you like it . Once I get the new kitchen fixed and it cools down a bit (We're not used to these temps) I can get into the shed and get started on some projects Cheers mate, BRam

Hello Stuart and thanks mate. Even as boys we always had a stick ,they were used in the harvest fields to dispatch rabbits and also to pull brambles in for the blackberries when it was time for mum to make blackberry jam.... good old days! Cheers, Bram
Hi mate I have been very ill ,but I am on the road to recovering. Apologies for not answering sooner as I have only been upon my feet so to speak for a couple of weeks, Take care mate , your old mate Bram
Nice job! The wife and walk each day, late in the evening. I carry a walking stick made from a fallen tree branch, to ward off pesty pets. Your walking stick is much nicer, cheers.
Hi Cip and long time no see, hope you are keeping well mate, this stick will be used to pull on brambles for blackberries..😋 Cheers and take care , Bram
Bram, for a much better glue bottle use an empty yellow mustard jar, the top pops on and off real easy and because it's made from polypropylene, it's easy to keep clean.
@@chuckabare2627 Agree in principle - that reduces the number of times the original glue container must be opened which means that the closure SHOULD last longer (but no guarantees). And if the mustard jar gets grungy, throw it away (it was meant to be disposable) and replace it. However, there are better choices of mustard than that yellow stuff.
On the road to recovering thanks mate, as well as having a small cancer in the prostate which was caught early ,I had a couple of other health issues of which one was causing a lot of pain and weight loss . Cheers mate , Bram
