Tricia and I share a love for baseball, and I always use baseball analogies to describe life events. When I met Tricia, I felt like she was the fastball I was waiting on, but when she threw her heater, I was caught off guard. I knew I had to step up to the plate and take a swing. This song is a tribute to our love, and I thought it would be fitting to tell this story in the style of Johnny Cash, the man in black who sang about love, heartbreak, and everything in between.”
