The Arthur thing was some of the most forced shit ever. Their world consists entirely of anthropomorphic animals. If they want to cover racism, they could at least make it consistent with the world by making it about an animal being discriminated against.

@Shy Brotha Speaks The whole video shows instances of modern cartoons where they put entertainment to the back seat and preach more of their agenda. For example they could just talk about great black people during black history month but they chose to degrade a white man for stealing credit (even though he didn't).

In the Arthur universe, wouldn't skin or fur color be far less important than species? Like, even really racist humans don't usually think to much about hair or eye color.
As kids, we only saw the characters in “Arthur” as people. Sure, they’re all different animals, but we never thought of them as white or black or certain races. Now the show practically teaches racism. What’s really weird is that Mrs. MacGrady used to have a slightly different skin color.

early spongebob was packed with actually funny, subtly adult-based jokes whilst still having genuinely good morals and messages for kids too. what a time that was
The most offensive part of the Arthur thing was rather than be creative in their own story world and draw an analogy from the creature types and demonstrate racism by having another "race" of creature be mistreated they literally went for the soft-brained her-dur people black.
It seems the directors of all famouse shows and series are "forced" by autority to put some scenes in their series, so they show their bitterness and disagreement with making it in the worst way possible ! and the autority is so stupid that they don't understand these are so cringy and low quality olmost like they are aliens 🤭

I'd argue that it's done because there's no good way of doing it. Pointing towards a different group and saying "hheeeEYY kids! Look over there! Those are the BLACKS. They came here during the slave trade and we've been super racist and mean to them ever since." It wouldn't be any kinder if they replaced black with an animal. Plus you have more questions like what animal? What's non offensive? Do you make them all cats? Horses? Dogs? None of these would go over well.

The my little pony thing could honestly so easily go over the head of any little kid watching it. And it could just as easily be explained as the ponies being sisters instead of a couple.
In all fairness, My Little Pony also had a cliff hanger two-part episode where the main characters dismantle a communist government by encouraging the ponies living under it to reclaim their individual autonomy.
Yeah I was a brony back in the day and there's absolutely no way to argue that show is woke, the entire thing is about finding your individuality and a group of friends, then not losing your individuality within that group because the unique input you bring to the group strengthens it. The show also deals with how to find reasonable compromises to resolve an argument without violence, then goes out of its way to show that some circumstances cannot be reasoned out of and must be confronted with courage rather than hatred so as to not be blind to an opportunity to make your sworn enemy into your friend. This is the antithesis of wokeness, it encourages children to truly believe that they not only have a right to their voice but that others do too, and that a person can be lifted out of even the darkest depths of evil provided you have a long enough rope and care to try. Fuck the fact that it's technicolour horses, that show turned a fat autistic friendless incel with deep-seated rage and gave him the skills and self-confidence to find a group of lifelong friends, ride out school and make it out into the real world before he turned a gun on either himself or his classmates. I have an enjoyable life now, depression-free, I've had relationships and make friends easily; still fat, but any amount of ridicule couldn't budge me from proudly admitting that show helped me. How could I not be proud of what it helped me achieve?
Shows like Doug and Hey Arnold taught us about living peacefully amongst each other without being forced or political. They taught us to think through our problems. Entertainment is moving backwards.
Hey Arnold discussed so many relevant issues, like abuse, orphans, poverty (Sid lived on a bare mattress), alcoholism, war. They did it all by introducing sympathetic characters instead of shoving morals down your throat.
Cartoons in the 90's: "This alien looks like the alien we fought last week, but he's not an asshole. Maybe we shouldn't judge by appearances." Cartoons now: *Literally just current politics.*
Back then there were still Karens forcing Saturday Morning Advertiseme- I mean Cartoons to practice standards. (Which led to a sappy message at the end)
And there's the issue. Wokeness has ruined the left's cultural message, and it leaves everyone else with only two conclusions to draw, either their cultural message now is extremeist and a little hateful, or the people writing are insane due to overdosing on propaganda and have entirely chugged the kool aid, when thats never what the message was about. Either way the ones currently in control of the media need to be removed or else we will regress.
MLP FiM pushes NO woke agenda, funnily enough. I have a really harsh take on shows that consciously do, but I still have that show kept away in the corner of my mind reserved for things I loved in my childhood that I remember today. That show somehow is good enough that I actually remember quite a bit, and it’s been over half a decade since I’ve watched it. MLP pushes character, dignity, work ethic and the importance of self worth. Hell, it took the writers of the show to confirm afterwards Holiday and Lofty were lesbian. I never realized they were lesbian. I thought they were two aunts just living together because housing might have gotten tough. So yeah, I disagree with the “woke” label. It doesn’t encourage, nor discourage it. It doesn’t even talk about it. It all focuses on the integral values to be a good person. And, don’t you think it’s sort of applying the fallacy of composition to take a literal 30 second clip, from a show which has 22 minute episodes, and OVER 230 OF THEM, and assess the whole show off of it?
I mean yeah, I was so surprised to see a pony in that thumbnail. "Is he talking about that arguably lesbian couple? Because that's the only remotely representation-pushing moment I can remember" - Yes, he is. And their relationship status wasn't even mentioned once iirc. And that last point is also true for Steven Universe. I quite enjoyed most of that show, and the preachy tone of that segment shown here is completely out of character and doesn't represent the show at all.

@Khaled Shanshal One easy way to not be woke is: You have a diverse cast? Great! TREAT EVERYONE EQUALLY and DON'T GIVE ANYONE FREE PASSES. The wokes will completely flip if they see a kids' book where: 1- everyone is treated fairly and respectfully; 2- if any character does something wrong, they're called out specifically and very explicitly because of what they did - to which you can add valid moral judgement as to why no one should do that. "You're white!" "No I'm not. I'm Davey." In the very late 1960's, the Lutheran show "Davey and Goliath" handled the topic of racism in an episode with a black boy who hates white kids (the reason isn't explained), and Davey and his (black) friend teach him not to judge people by their skin color. The boy learns his lesson, realizing that Davey is a true friend. The episode also makes the point more clear, with Goliath (the dog) chasing away another dog only because he has a different fur color, and Davey uses logic to explain how ridiculous that is. I feel that the episode did well by _not_ actually using the word "racism", and never showing any violent forms of it. It simply shows the emotional harm it has on Davey, who would never mistreat anyone based on skin color. I think the show ended because, over time, fewer and fewer TV networks were willing to broadcast "religious" cartoons, and they couldn't afford to produce it anymore... Instead of acting like it is still around, talk about how it was around before. That way, we learn to be better in the future instead of accepting that racism is around and can’t be changed. And that’s a fact
In 90's children's shows, the message was always be nice to people regardless of any differences. That's a message any kid could understand. Now they have to preach at your kids to get them to conform.
I think a good example of that was Gargoyles, the lead characters were literal monsters but for the most part the most noble and gallant members of the cast, nobody shined a light on it, it was just a good show, and one of the places I learned as a kid that nobility wasn't skin-deep.
That's because the difference is that now they're trying to force unnatural and harmful themes that would never be accepted by a healthy person who's sound of mind, so they push the message on little impressionable kids who are still learning realities of the world. Exactly how child soldiers are made too.
Exactly. And tv wasn't as racist as the left makes it seem. I grew up on shows like Martin, Fresh Prince, In Living Color, The Wayans Brothers, and Family Matters right next to shows like Home Improvement, Full House, Step by Step, etc. Shows like Voyager and Deep Space Nine, which had a VERY diverse cast working together, under a female captain and a black first officer, and a black captain with a female first officer. They act like Discovery is the first time it's happened. Everything is "woke" now. The Boys started off good, but now in season 3, they're bringing up politics and situations from our "world" into the fictional. Picard season 2 was literally him going back in time to 2024 to stop the election of a republican, which lead to, in his timeline, the world being a fascist dystopia. Strange new worlds bridge crew and command crew is 95% females, and like Discovery and Picard, 75% of cast are gay. They even turned 7 of 9 gay! I guess the white woman being in love with a Native American was "too problematic", so instead she's a lesbian now.
I don't let our kids watch anything from streaming services anymore. After black Ariel on Disney+ decided that Atlantica was "so diverse" with not a single white person in sight, I pulled the plug and switched to DVDs from me and my husband's childhood and GUESS WHAT! IT'S AMAZING! 🤪
You know, whatever happened to teaching people just basic respect? Like instead of going into specifically sexual minorities, why not just say "Be kind to all of your fellow humans"?
@@danielhart7435 I believe you are wrong. Kids with some level of intelligence do generally try to treat people with respect. That being said, respect has become more of a subjective term. If you refuse to refer to a “transgender” person in the manner they demand, you are not “respecting a pronoun”, as though their subjective reality trumps objective reality. Just because one treats others with basic respect, doesn’t make them a pushover, it just makes them less of an asshole. Being a prick doesn’t make you more fun to be around.
11:06 - I laughed at Matt's reaction when the MLP clip ended, cause he was just like me- waiting for that incredibly overt, extreme leftist, gender identity, LGBTQ+ focused, politically charged remark, comment or rant inserted into the show that was the reason for the video being shown in the first place. But it didn't come. Now, I watched that particular episode of MLP. If this video wasn't pointing out the wokeness in kids shows, I wouldn't have suspected that that pony and unicorn were a lesbian couple at all. If no one had said anything, I wouldn't have known- though I did suspect something about their relationship. I just thought they were old besties living together, or coworkers, or sisters- the interaction was so normal and natural for a kids program. I suppose that just goes to show the quality of the writing of the earliest seasons of MLP. You know, until it all went to shit, but there you go. One good show out of four/five, I guess.
@@CombatMagic They are confirmed to be a couple, yes. There is also another established F/F couple in MLP, Lyra and BonBon, that most kids probably missed altogether since they are background characters with little screentime, even if they are adored in the fandom.
I didn’t suspect anything either, I thought they were sisters or close friends, like how you might call your moms close friend auntie and I thought Lyra and bonbon were just best friends
there is also an episode where there is a missing bunny and they use a ritual that resembles a satanic ritual to bring the bunny home. they made a circle of bunny food and one character sat in the middle closed her eyes, and started saying " (bunny name) came home to us..."
" no, you see it's different because his ideas are good, so if conservatives were to make a show filled with propaganda it wouldn't actually be propaganda, it would just be moral lessons for kids because lesbian ponies are bad but homeschooled Chinchillas who abide by gender roles are good"
I remember HIM from powerpuff girls. First cross dresser I saw on TV as a kid. He was a badass villain, but they never went into depth or overfocused on why he dressed and acted like a woman. Just made him seem even more maniacal and insane.

"You're white!"
"No I'm not. I'm Davey."
In the very late 1960's, the Lutheran show "Davey and Goliath" handled the topic of racism in an episode with a black boy who hates white kids (the reason isn't explained), and Davey and his (black) friend teach him not to judge people by their skin color. The boy learns his lesson, realizing that Davey is a true friend.
The episode also makes the point more clear, with Goliath (the dog) chasing away another dog only because he has a different fur color, and Davey uses logic to explain how ridiculous that is. "You're both dogs. If you'd met him in a dark cave, you wouldn't know he's different."
I never heard of it sadly.
@@joesoldchanneldeprecated5948 The show ran from the early '60s to the mid '70s. It was animated in stop-motion, and featured the voice talent of the one and only Hal Smith. Primarily, the show promoted Christian beliefs. And I must say, it had _much_ better morals than modern children's shows...
@@BeefJerkey An anti-racist Christian show? Tell me more.
@@joesoldchanneldeprecated5948 More, you say? And I was afraid of boring you with long paragraphs.
Well, it features a boy named Davey, and his dog named Goliath who can apparently communicate, but only Davey can understand him. I can say this: As far as production quality goes, it had a rocky start. The animation was sometimes messy, and the models didn't always match from one scene to another (everything was hand-made). It's quite interesting to see how the show developed over time. First episode was "Lost in the Cave" and last episode was "To the Rescue." Compare the two, and you will see a _massive_ difference.
The episode I first mentioned is called "Blind Man's Bluff," produced at a time when the show had just recently reached a fully-developed point. Characters and things were more established.
On a side note, it was made by the creators of Gumby, another recognizable stop-motion show, but Davey and Goliath was much better in my opinion. _Much_ better.

@@AlaskanGhost awesome show
That's because the difference is that now they're trying to force unnatural and harmful themes that would never be accepted by a healthy person who's sound of mind, so they push the message on little impressionable kids who are still learning realities of the world.
@@AlaskanGhost that was one of my favorites growing up too.
Honestly that’s a dumb thing to teach because kids don’t follow it. Those who do are pushovers or uptight losers who aren’t fun to be around.
@Ikkaku Madarame What is "objective reality"?
Because everyone wants to be a victim and get a special prize for being "brave".
@@ikkakumadarame7608 You sounds like you never been a kid in your life.
Legit question, is it confirmed that they are a couple then? Or is it 'baiting' gay characters
Legit question, is it confirmed that they are a couple then? Or is it 'baiting' gay characters
@@CombatMagic They are confirmed to be a couple, yes. There is also another established F/F couple in MLP, Lyra and BonBon, that most kids probably missed altogether since they are background characters with little screentime, even if they are adored in the fandom.
I did not suspect anything either with these characters tbh. But i also watched the anti communist episode of this show so i would say it's fine.
I didn’t suspect anything either, I thought they were sisters or close friends, like how you might call your moms close friend auntie and I thought Lyra and bonbon were just best friends
I remember when Arthur was about stupid kids solving problems now it’s just stupid kids making lies
Yep, I used to actually like watching Arthur lol, now even looking at the new animation makes me want to vomit
“You really think someone would DO that?? Just go on the Internet and tell LIES???”
there is also an episode where there is a missing bunny and they use a ritual that resembles a satanic ritual to bring the bunny home. they made a circle of bunny food and one character sat in the middle closed her eyes, and started saying " (bunny name) came home to us..."
DW was obviously the worst, next to Francine
Arthur also had a episode with cancer and another with a gay wedding
Gee! I sure hope this man doesn’t make his own terrible cartoons some day! That would make him a huge hypocrite!
" no, you see it's different because his ideas are good, so if conservatives were to make a show filled with propaganda it wouldn't actually be propaganda, it would just be moral lessons for kids because lesbian ponies are bad but homeschooled Chinchillas who abide by gender roles are good"
@@aceclop People who abide by gender roles are just called normal, it's not propaganda to include most the population.
I miss my good ol violent loony toons
That was back before TV became a 24/7 antiwhte propaganda outlet. Good show that I will show my kids when I have them
And that cross dressing wabbit
Tom and Jerry also had a skill for violence
Looney tooms and TMNT. The original ones, get those for your kids
The Three Stooges - now THAT was kids‘ entertainment!!
I remember HIM from powerpuff girls. First cross dresser I saw on TV as a kid. He was a badass villain, but they never went into depth or overfocused on why he dressed and acted like a woman. Just made him seem even more maniacal and insane.
Bugs bunny
I thought that was just his personality. I didn't think anything of it lol. I'm 14 rn tho but yea
And did you hear about the Power Puff Girls live action spin off? I don’t think it’s actually gonna happen but 🤮
THISSSS
He was a cool villain
How can be rascist in a town comprised of animals? If anything, that'd be specist (no less cringe inducing, but still)
Does that also apply to Zootopia?
@@utopian4769 pretty much
Spiciest makes more sense as some species are better at other thing than others so you can make a valid argument that a species is superior to another
Okay then, but now you've lost your right to complain about SJW semantics, since you're basically doing the same. It's especially laughable since stuff like D&D has non-humans playable RACES and has had them for a while now.
That doesn't make any sense at all lmao animals have no races
