I personally enjoyed Dead Space 3 and Awakened for what it was worth anyway. Sure the "co-op" is a huge, uhhh...letdown for the majority it seems. Though you still have the option to fly solo campaign essentially. Plenty of interesting games, horror genre included..have you forced to play with 1 to 3 other players typically. The game certainly has its moments, I enjoyed the whole arc with Issac and Ellie. The guncrafting was pretty cool, as it offers you so much personal preference to how you want to rip, tear, barbeque and destroy all the Necromorphs. It all in all is a pretty solid game, may not as tense and scary as the first two Dead Space games. However, I always say to myself and friends...at this point we are almost desensitized to the pure horror aspect(at least for this game, and what we already know to expect mostly). Of course after the ending to this we had a huge cliff hanger, and now that Dead Space remake has been a thing...we may never get that ultimate closure of what happens at the end. I'd even go far as to say, that a Dead Space 4 finale would have been much more preferred to the remake.
I get what you're saying, 4 would have been nice but personally I'm excited that we may end up with 2 & 3 remakes (I hope we get mobile too...but that's being greedy) 4 will come at some point...or I hope so anyway 😅
Hopefully the Dead Space Remakes continue to come. In the meantime your videos motivated me to go back and play 2/3 on PS3. Loved 2 after finishing it last week. Going to 3 with low expectations based on your video, but atleast i have some good DLC waiting at the end to leave a good taste of the series in my mouth. Anyways keep up the good work. Amazing vid as always.
You're doing the right thing going in with low expectations, you never know it might exceed them! I hope so anyway, there's nothing worse than that feeling where you have to slog through something! Glad my videos got you motivated to go back to the series on ps3 - its such a great time!
Did you like DS3 then? I also went into DS3 with low expectations and I had an AMAZING time. DS3 was incredible. I did miss the psychosis. But it was still a better game than 95% of games released in the decade since. I hope they remake 2 and 3, staying faithful to the stories, but adding back the crazy for 3.
@@RandomWandrer unfortunately I'm trying to get someone to play with :(. Has a trophy hunter i want to do the coop collectibles and missions for trophies and to have a full experience.
Damn, I would like so much that the whole Dead Space 3 be like this DLC. If they ever would make a remake of this game or another DS game with coop, I hope it would be just like this DLC. The funny part about this DLC is that, if you play coop, the boss fight against Carver is a legit PVP fight. Also the ending really sucks. I hate the "...and then everyone died and all was for nothing" kind of endings. Personally I liked the DS3 ending more, becouse, with a great sacrifice of Issac and Carver, the Earth and humanity were saved. It was a bummer even more when at that point in time there was no hope for a sequel and that was it. :(
@@SSJdavey Well back then, after closing of Visceral Games there was no hope and everyone is dead. But now, with DS Remake proudly kicking the door open with Issacs mighty boot, there is a hope for a DS4, a go time and taking the revenge :)
@@SSJdavey After seeing more of the DLC’s story/gameplay through your review here, I would like to slightly modify the hypothetical premise I came up with for a Dead Space 4 game... I noticed that, if the Brethren Moons have arrived to Earth, then most people on the planet would have probably been driven crazy anyway. That is, even if the Brethren Moons had decided to not immediately make them all into more Necromorphs. I could still imagine a plot twist occurring in which these are revealed: A.) The galaxy has become so devoid of sapient life that the Brethren Moons have a new plan to treat humanity as sustainable livestock, rather than just assimilating everyone all at once like with previous alien civilizations; and B.) That mankind’s idea of conducting human sacrifice throughout history, to appease their “gods”, was first planted by the original marker, in preparation for the Brethren Moons’ new approach towards us. Isaac could still have a chance to keep fighting for mankind, due to the borrowed time of the Brethren Moons not wanting to assimilate all people at once. But rather than Earth becoming a dystopian world, where the Earth’s government and Unitologist leaders consciously comply with the Moons’ demands, the majority of Earth’s people could just become so mind-controlled that they unconsciously become a hivemind serving the Moons’ demands, even if they are not all becoming Necromorphs. Issac would have to contend with those people too as potential enemies. The last thing I would like to reiterate from my previous post is that I wonder if this could be a neat set-piece in DS4. What if Isaac were to bring down another one of the Brethren Moons at some point, by taking command of the Ishimura’s “planet-cracking” tools (or the tools of a similar ship) and turning it on said Moon?
Basically the reason that this was better than the entirety of Dead space 3 is because Dead space 3 was an action game with some horror on that's where is this actually attempted to try to capture the things from the original dead space and Dead space 2 the HP Lovecraft style storytelling
Unfortunately, Dead Space 3 came out as microtransactions were just starting up, and just three years after this "EA Games label president Frank Gibeau has claimed that games that lack an online component are “finished” in business terms because “online is where the innovation, and the action, is at”." A dark time for those of us who love single-play campaigns. As for the remakes, from a business sense, I'd remake Dead Space 2 as there is little that needs to be changed about that game in order to line it up with the Dead Space 1 remake which means a faster development time. Plus the community recognition of how good that game was in the series combined with the positive feedback from the first remake should result in great sales at a lower development cost since you can reuse assets from your first remake and the storyboarding is done. It's after that where things will get tricky. If EA is willing to allow Motive some creative freedom then I'd let them rework Dead Space 3, not enough that it is unrecognizable, but getting rid of the stuff people disliked. For me, that's ditching the universal ammo, the overabundance of resources, and the love triangle. I'd then rework the story to have the sovereign colonies fleet be in the middle of nowhere, that the crew killed themselves shortly after shock jumping. Then I'd have Isaac and crew competing with unitologists to find where the fleet had been, piecing together its history, as they took on the nercomorphs infesting the ships of the fleet. From there, have them jump to tau volantis and give that planet a facelift. After arriving you once again race against the unitologists which are going further insane just like in the awakened dlc. The rest comes down to what they have planned for Dead Space 4 as to how they want to end things.
Back then EA didn't know how far to push DLC in was constantly demanding more they simply would not take no for an answer sadly you have to sometimes let people screw up so that they can see why what they were asking for was bad in the first place I just wish it didn't require Dead Space 3 to be the sacrificial lamb in this situation
Knowing that's its been left this long without resolution sucks but at the time it sets up potential for ds4 which would have been good to see if it did happen 😂
The DLC should of been a prequel about the Sovereign Colonies instead. For better or worse, the series could have ended Isaac's story with the destruction of the brethren moon ending the necromorohs forever. The DLC we have now undoes all of that and it don't help that there's a bad cliffhanger at the end, too.
I really doubt there’d be a dead space 4 (any time soon), since the old trilogy didn’t even get an HD collection, I am cautiously optimistic it’ll be a possibility after potential remakes of 2 and 3

I love Dead Space 3, and while Awakened was cool it completely ruined the ambiguous ending of the base game.

I feel like it was still Ambiguous.
The lack of a 4th installment was one of the greatest disappointments when it comes to gaming for me.
Hopefully we'll get a chance to see a proper conclusion to Issac's story with the remakes 🤞
@@SSJdavey I think DS2 doesn't really need a remake.
It doesn't its basically perfect but as they've done #1 they might as well re-do the rest, it'll print money for them
