  • Here I play the demo of NATSU-MON 20th Century Summer Kid for the first time, a game by Kaz Ayabe of Millennium Kitchen, who is known for creating many nostalgic summer vacation and childhood-themed games, and what a beautiful and charming adventure - the more I played the more it hooked me in. You play as the only son of the circus troupe leader and enjoy a special summer vacation with many encounters and experiences! Have a look for yourself and then go and download the demo! I liked it so much I am going to record my next session as well!

Cheers Seth, I am jumping into the shop and picking up the full version after playing this demo. There is just something very enticing about this one, the setting, characters, story - should be fun. thanks for the comment and take care. Sparky

This is me playing through the demo which just launched on the Nintendo Switch - I wasn't planning to play for so long but this game gets its hooks into you. Let me know if you've played it and what you thoughts are. I'm looking forward to playing some more. Could be a very interesting title, certainly showing lots of promise.

My only question is: are you free to explore to your hearts content or is there an overall time limit (like it's your summer, you have 90 in-game days)?

that's a great question - I don't think there is a time limit, but need to check. I haven't picked up the full version yet - I have dived back into GraveYard Keeper and started a new game! It's great! Thanks for taking time to drop a comment. Sparky

Is this basically Boku no Natsuyasume?

Basically, yes, esp when you look at the summary description of Bono no Natsuyasume (it literally could be this game aspart from the age of the child): "The game follows the summer vacation of Boku, a city-dwelling nine-year-old boy who in August 1975 is sent to stay with his extended family in the Japanese countryside for a month. Gameplay takes place in an open-ended environment where the player is free to determine how Boku spends the thirty-one in-game days of his summer vacation, with few set goals or specific obligations of gameplay progression."
