It’s been changing quite a bit ever since 2020. What I do know works is getting a tourist visa, getting a job and then your workplace would have it transformed into a business, multi-entry visa.
Hard to get a job without working experience, but put any bit of work experience you have on a resume. Some schools won't care, just highlight what you can and have done. If possible, show proof that you are a good teacher (student work, reviews from volunteer locations, reviews from previous work places even if not teaching related, ect).

Hiya, I would like to teach English in Cambodia, Can I go on a tourist visa then get a business visa when I am in Cambodia or do I have to get it from the Embassy in the Uk before I leave? Many thanks.
Not sure if you're still interested, but the visa situation has been changing by the week. If you work for one of the higher paying schools (you can with a teaching degree and 2-3+ years of experience) they will usually cover your visa. Other schools may ask you to deal with the visa. Highly suggest you ask the school for their procedure as most schools will have someone at the school dealing with visas for the teachers. Did you end up coming to Cambodia or a different country?
@@simonanthonymcglynn3918 Lots of teaching jobs available right now. Great time to apply and if you secure a job before you come it'll be even easier transition. Feel free to send any more questions my way!
Yes, you will need a work visa. This would most likely be arranged by someone working at the school you were hired at. Most schools have someone specifically in charge of handling the visas for the foreign employees.
Furthermore, you could enter Cambodia on a tourist visa as you look for jobs in Cambodia and then, upon being hired, your employer would take care of your visa for you.
Great question. Culturally some of the local kids tend to be a bit shy (especially age 13 and up) and so doing activities that allow students to speak or problem solve in small groups can help them get them "out of their shell". Another thing to be aware of culturally is that anything which could be embarrassing or cause one to "loose face" would be avoided so many students resist practicing in front of others and fear making mistakes. This is why it is important to establish a classroom environment where mistakes are okay and are part of the learning process. I get my students to practice aloud all the time and I have seen it boost their confidence over time.
@@ThatGuyInCambodia Thank you very much for the insights. I worked with some middle and high school students for a couple of months and may go back to the same school again. Your suggestions are very helpful. I appreciate it.
