This was the only song performed live from the new album in the whole year 2020, due to the pandemic situation. A true work of acoustic art, which had the "less is more" bomb effect, being then often performed in this minimal arrangement in the concerts of 2022. It always brings tears to my eyes. You are not alone, Eric. Emotions make us human.
The second verse Tuomas wrote for Floor, her husband Hannes and their daughter Freja. This is Tuomas way to say thank you Floor for saving the band back in 2012 and making us great again. Floor can bring you to the edge and if she wants tip you over it. Even when it isn't written personally for anyone it can hit you very hard in your soul. It happened to me also
Yes, In the beginning of the song she was the mother with no child. But then after she joined Nightwish she met her future husband Hannes while on tour, when both their bands were playing the same U.S. festival.
I saw it on your face less than 30 seconds in... First the exquisite, delicate oh-so-feminine delivery, and then WHAM! The POWER!!!!! Can we all just agree that lady is a one woman shock-and-awe campaign?
I think Nightwish ballads are so beautiful, don't know how Tuomas does it, it doesn't matter if it Tarja, Anette or Floor, he wrote amazing ballads to all of them ❤️
"Sorrow hides well in your shell." Eric, there is no medicine for this kind of pain. But, sometimes (with friends) there is value in pulling back the veil... to honor her. She waits just beyond the pale blue.
I hear you, Big Guy. My mother passed four years after losing my father, she simply could not take living without him. One thing I truly appreciate about you is that you don't hide from what you feel, and you feel every note. The genius of Tuomas was well-described by you, because he is truly unlike any artist on this planet, and I include all of the arts, not just music. I write poetry, as well as prose, and he is a sincere inspiration to me. Floor makes you feel every syllable, every note and even things that were not intended by the composition. In my poetry, I write in allegories, so frequently my intended meaning is hidden in the story, and it is my hope that anybody who might read it will find their own meaning. I love how often that happens with you. You teach me something with every reaction, and do I ever appreciate that. My thanks, dear friend. You are a treasure.
My grandmother passed shortly after their 63rd Anniversary. Without their little poodle to take care of, I suspect he would have followed her within a year.
To me this song is about human empathy, looking out and caring for each other. Something this world could use more of. The beauty of Tuomas's writing is that it speaks to listeners in so many different ways. I can totally understand your interpretation. I really love this song; the melody, the composition, the lyrics, the acoustic version and the album version (which has more of those beautiful harmonies). I think you shouldn't listen to 'Harvest' any time soon - ua-cam.com/video/Xy29T7LBM_I/v-deo.html That song from the Human:ll:Nature album always hits me hard.
hello that was just as valid a reaction as the one with your musical break down it is okay to show that side lyrics will be seen after i am done writing this
An incredibly genuine heartfelt reaction Eric! You had me in tears with you. I´m so proud of Nightwish and how they can tap into emotions. Just beautiful!
When you listen to this through headphones, in both versions, you can hear just how good Troy is as well as Floor. He's a really good acoustic guitarist and his vocal range goes quite deep. It's a superb piece of artistry and has been performed in full and in acoustic versions on the current tour. I loved the acoustic at Wembley. Shortly after, it was replaced by an acoustic "Our Decades in the Sun" which is equally stunning and equally hard hitting. It's true, the man is a genius. And he has great musicians to interpret his writing. Ah, Steve Cropper - a legend!
BIG HUG Eric.... Be assured, you are not alone........ I knew what would happen...... Some songs I can`t hear whilst driving.......too dangerous to drive with tears..... But....again a brilliant reaction/discussion however you like to name it......
I've found myself unexpectedly crying at Nightwish songs too - yes, they can find your fear and make you cry while reassuring you about the same thing.
Have listened to this many times and just start to melt away with Floors voice. Great song. I do like how Floor made the sound engineer's life easier (and saved his hearing) by leaning back during the belts at the end. Sorta knew this one would get you. NW songs should come with warning labels. 😏 Concur. Cheers.
When sad memories are too painful emotionally to face yet not to walk away from, they need to be vented before your heart burst. Music is like a walk in a forest. The scent of pinetrees, winding paths, gentle breeze on your face - all that is like catharsis releasing emotions. You need to let the pain dive out from the deep and cry and cry and cry. Gradually the deepest cut no longer hurts so much. The painfullest feeling is your own feableness. Music is means of catharsis. Tuomas is your catharsis.❤❤❤
I saw Nightwish live in December and was looking forward to hear this accoustic song, but - they switched it at the end of the European tour and gave us Our Decades in the Sun - and it was even more beautiful.
As a man myself you should listen to it again because it's ok to open up things that you are afraid of. You have been lucky to have met people that affect you that much. Take care Eric 🥰 From the spoken part in The Greatest show on Earth " "We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born The potential people who could have been here in my place But who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara...."
wishing you all the best in life..your lady will see and know that..thanx for this emotional reaction. you're not alone..We Are Here..sending you all the love and support from the Nightwish Army in the Netherlands....
Not a suggestion for a reaction although it would be fun to see your reaction to it but there's another version Nightwish put out to Over the Hills and Far Away that is basically a montage of the band's personal photos during the tour and really shows how much fun they have with each other off the stage and how much of a genuine family they really are, and you get interesting info that some don't know about, pictures taken at the Nightwish museum in Finland and the species specifically named for Floor, but for me just seeing them goofing around with each other is hilarious to me, I've been a fan since the beginning and I don't think I've ever seen them this content and happy, just five brothers hanging with their little sister.
I know you will die in delight when you hear Nightwish - Last Of The Wilds, even that that is an instrumental piece. Eric, thank you so much for being who you are
the song is as intense as the interpretation, floor's voice has the ability to make an adult cry like a baby, it happens to me every time I listen to it, thanks for making a reaction to this song once I put it in the comments on facebook but it was only because everyone needs to hear floor's voice and lyrics, I hope you can understand me I am using google translator. Saludos desde Chile!
Eric I'm 53 yro as well, I live in South Ogden Utah,,,I too have seen the great ones..Concrete Blond,s Joey and Tomorrow Wendy's gonna die are songs I hear in my head from seeing them in concert half a life time ago, I've heard each song Twice, the record version and live...I hear them in the Juke box in my head all the time, they're painful beautiful songs...I've allowed myself to show just how open some of my wounds are, I'd do anything I could to avoid, feelings I need to face, to avoid showing vulnerability!..You know what's its gotten me the last 20+ years...its gotten me alone!...Your words from the review of "The Greatest Show on Earth" , and the personal moments you share that hurt you, not wanting to, but doing it anyways!..Hey, that's bravery and facing those feelings in front of a camera, for all to see...Eric you're a special SOB..You share vulnerabilities and say why they hurt..The obvious fear in your face and tone, hits a person..Your reality is you struggle, but keep moving forward..Let me share my reality to what you say!..Same words, they weren't weren't meant for me, but they hit home.."Sound familiar?...You are oblivious to the fact that those same words inspire me to step out of my shell, I two have loved 2 women in my life..I'm not ready to share more on that..but will be..cause someone I don't know, same age as me, experienced a similar path , even the concert you talk about...I was there at those concerts, just on my side of the country..this stranger through his words gave me no choice but to reach out and and tell them what they can't see...You're a good man, a strong STRONG man, its a rare breed that can share what you do, You're about as strong as any man I've heard or encountered..I'll end with paraphrase, "I got out of bed and thought to myself, You've got another day, alright, lets do this" any negativity through out my day is just self inflicted nonsense , I have one more day!..the last 4 repeated lines "We were here"...What are you going to do from here on out to bring even more meaning to those words?!...Me?, I'm gonna share my vulnerabilities more, I'm happy to have loved and lost!..The hurt I have now is worth the feelings and memories of loss..Thank you my friend..I wrote a novel, I babbled, made little sense in some area's, a lot of people won't relate to it as a whole!...you will...Good Luck to you...Thank You!
Thank you very much for your time and kind words. As they say, "Don't cry because you miss them, smile because it happened."...I was blessed to have my wife in my life to make me a better person, so as sad as I am, I'm equally as proud to have shared my life with someone I love more than myself. My dad always said, "Get up every day, put your shoulders back, chin up, and drive on." I try to do that, but it can be difficult sometimes. I'm glad I can help in any tangential way, since I'm as scared as anyone, I'm just too dumb to notice sometimes. And as Layne Staley said in "River of Deceit", "Our pain is self-chosen". Cheers from Nashville, Eric
There are several Nightwish songs that I expect to shed a tear or two when I hear them, and I'm OK with that. I have to choose when to listen to Sleeping Sun, though. It's one of my favorites but is guaranteed to require tissue. Right after Floor came back from breast surgery and broke down on stage at the end of the song, I had to go lay down. Being a breast cancer survivor myself, that didn't just send me down a flight of stairs, she dropped me off the roof. I see comments over and over about Nightwish being a source of comfort and sometimes a lifesaver for many fans. I feel the same way. As you said, they give you a place of safety and security to move through difficult emotions and times. Thank you for your reactions. I always smile when I see a new one posted. I enjoy your approach very much and am especially intrigued when you talk about the colors you see (I wish that was teachable).
And this is why you are the only reactor I follow on social media platforms. I see & hear how the music affects you. Thank you again for your honest and heartfelt reactions.
Eric thnxxx for staying on the NightWish train, youre reactions are all great, youre livestream is great, but well my hart is with Floor,Nw, thnxxx for this one,and a side note, this one breaks me every time🥰
You did a precise discription of how it is to listen to Nightwish. Tuomas's music can be life changing for the ones who lost or hid from all the feels, good or bad, the walls one built to forget. But it can be very healing to feel again and allow life at its fullest again. For me that's all about the feels. And these two empaths Tuomas and Floor with all of Nightwish are a match made in heaven to celebrate and appreciate what life is. They make you feel and at the same time give you the safe feeling, that it's okay and you are just right the way you are. 💜WE WERE HERE! 💜nw💜fj💜
Very nice shirt 😎 This is Tuomas beautiful l mind, in a world where everyone is looking out for themselves he thinks about asking how someone else is doing. ♥️
I could see the pain hit you and send all the comfort I can, Sir. Hugs. Your wife must have been so grateful to have had a man who loved her so fiercely. She was a lucky lady & would want you to be happy. Hope everyone takes this song as a reminder to ask everyone we know how they are, without accepting the perfunctionary "ok." Hugs from BC Canada to anyone who is not really ok. Seek someone to talk to, distract yourself until you find some help, & don't ruminate on things if you can. We all need to be there for each other.
🤩👌💥💯 Right On Eric.... Sometimes taking that gentle step towards all the freightening things could be a Huge relief which encourages us to take another hop ahead when it's time for that. Step by step, a day after another. 🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
Great reaction sir. Tuomas, our metal Mozart 🥰 Many times I wonder how someone can write and compose such beautiful melodies and brilliant lyrics. I never ever can do that so I just listen to Nightwish music. Maybe in next life I can write beautiful songs to share ❤
Eric....my mother, who is 89, was hospitalized a couple of years ago for "Broken Heart" Syndrome. My father passed away back in 2011 suddenly, and my mother never really recovered from it. I never really understood how much my parents loved each other...especially how much my mother loved my father, and losing him was so difficult for her. Thank you for reacting to this brilliant masterpiece of music and prose.
Hello, Eric. This is one of these Tuomas masterpieces that is so hauntingly beautiful and makes a personal connection such that it means something different to each of us and pulls at our heartstrings for our own personal reasons. I appreciate all of your reactions, even these difficult ones. Thank you for this. You might want to stay away from a song Nightwish added to their setlist and performed live for the first time ever in the last few of their December 2022 European performances. It is called, "Our Decades in the Sun". There are only fan videos of the performance but it is certainly another heart breaker. And many of us can only take so much of that.
I know I should not have listened to this today. My sweet mother in law passed away today. Still I am glad I did. Sharing tears, is healing, just a bit.
I was lucky enough to hear this at Wembley last November, nothing reminds this cynical old metal head that he's part of the human race quite like this song can, Floor and Troy ♥🎸 just beautiful.
@@TheWyldesidewithEricClark No Fear my friend , sometimes a cathartic reaction to a piece of music or a singers vocal emotional lure is what is needed ,we are there with you : Alone - Heart (cover by Floor Jansen)2020 ua-cam.com/video/1fu-yP6q6Gk/v-deo.html Floor Jansen sings "About love I don't know a thing" for Ruben Annink Beste Zangers 2019 ua-cam.com/video/1SyHUrfjeqg/v-deo.html
So beautifully done by Floor and Troy, and yourself Eric. We all have these types of feelings. We usually keep them locked away from the world. It is the only way to move on in life. We cannot allow ourselves to "Drown in the mire". Regarding your commentary. I CONCUR!
🤜🤛 Nightwish did another acoustic song towards the end of their European tour. 'Decades in the sun' track. There are videos of this on YT but they're only fan recordings on the phones which is a shame because it sounds beautiful. So take care if you want to check it out. The second verse "we met where the cliff meets the sea"....."now there's one who came from me" Toumas wrote that for floor meeting Hannes and Freja being born, which is nice and great respect to floor from the band for what she's contributed to Nightwish.
Not quite the same but Floor did perform Decades in the Sun at her solo show in Amsterdam and it was quite stunning (ua-cam.com/video/wtNti7fiimE/v-deo.html). Samantha Steenwijk did a version in Dutch for Floor on Beste Zangers (ua-cam.com/video/K8dRBeO6XJU/v-deo.html) and that inspired Floor to work on performing it live as well. I have heard that the song was so emotional for the band and Floor while recording it on the album that didn't think they could perform it live. Supposedly the first two times they tried to record Floor's vocals when she was supposed to sing there was silence and they found her on the floor sobbing.
Mate thanks for being brave and doing that. I think this masterpiece deserves it.....to face it even if I hurts you a little. For me the voice of Floor always helps to go through even the darker times....she is like the promising light at the end of the Tunnel. Thanks for doing this ! Do you need some more uplifting stuff now ? Try "Nemo" from the same session....marvellous... All Hail the Queen !
So beautiful and honest reaction.... this song made me cry at the october concert here in buenos Aires. Thanks for your reactions and insights about Nightwish art. Big hug to you.
I remember when you started exploring Nightwish you said you weren't ready for this song, but when we have such pain inside us like yours, we're never ready for songs like this! I'm glad you found the courage to do it! Always be well, Eric! Thank you! 🤘🏻
As Chase says, "Nightwish doing Nightwish things." Hang in there...and seriously, take those suggestions. It is amazingly cathartic. You literally have to feel those things to let them go. Hang in there - I promise, you'll come out on the other side.
Toumas is just a wonderful writer, so poetic and effective with his words at the same time when he wants to be. How's the Heart. So simple, poetic and beautiful - and yet deep and complicated. It's like what he does in "Song of Myself" where he writes "Sometimes the Within is Piano Black". Again - so simple, poetic and beautiful. And yet those few words manage to somehow encapsulate such complicated emotions. He IS a master. And I haven't even gotten into his sense of melody, harmony and musicality. Oh - and thanks again for your honesty and heartfelt reaction ❤.
It is a PERFECT song !!!! Tuomas wrote the part "We met where the cliff greets the sea" about Floor's relationship with Hannes van Dahl (although is also a clear reference to Élan), and "Now there’s one who came from me / A child of light, another tale", which is about her giving birth to their daughter Freja. How cool is that? I mean, he really did what the song is about: human empathy. And what a better way to show it by dedicating a little part of the song for his friend and band mate? She said she went to tears when he mentioned it to her. And I can see why... Nightwish... Nuff Said!!! NWSU 🤘🥲🤘.
Great reaction Eric. I am once again awed to hear a lot of my own emotional reactions to this song coming from you. I always enjoy hearing your take on Nightwish songs. Although I'd rather it didn't cause you pain but sometimes the pain reminds us that we can still feel. Great to see you rocking the Endless Forms Most Beautiful shirt, I have one too. On a less tearful note (if we win) I'm looking forwards to welcoming your United to our Emirates Stadium next weekend. Would love to have an exchange during the game, if its nor on when you're asleep lol. Come on you gunners! Peace from England, my American brother. Look after yourself and stay strong 🤘
Wow I loved your analogy of Floor's voice, it's perfect! So beautiful and sweet and then powerful and strong and then back to sweet. I love her voice so much. Great reaction as usual. I know how you feel, putting the walls up to protect yourself. I still have a massive problem with it but when I listen to Nightwish it opens me up some and lets me feel again.
Great reaction,😍👍 and performance from Floor and Troy she puts so much emotion into her vocals. Gets me all the time and must have heard the tune 30 times to date
TY once again for a personal and emotional reaction and still despite the pain be able to make a beautiful interpretation. Humans can do incredible things. Indeed the power of connect without being made for you as an individual. Remains magic. 🙏🎸🙏
Thanks Eric. Going in, I knew this was going to "hit you in the feels" as it does me. It's simply impossible to overstate Tuomas, Floor, Troy, Empuu, Marco, Jukka N, Tarja, Annette and Jukka K as individuals and as mates growth, genius and empathy. Simply impossible. I doubt you'll find anyone who doesn't fully agree with you. And your emotional immersion in the listening experience is heart wrenching and life affirming. I feel ya. A 62yo vet brought to tears at nearly every song performed by this band since I first heard them, 4 years ago. I've heard songs that have touched me, even cried in their impact on me. But never so regularly as NW does. They've unlocked parts of me that 40+ years (my old man was a 24 year vet) of programming had shut down. And like yourself, break down from the connection to those emotions, memories and deep wells of pain that have been locked away. Thanks
They performed this version at the Wembley arena concert in November, along with Shoemaker it was the performance I was hoping to witness, it was just utterly jaw dropping to hear Floor in person
Never in my life have I ever had music vibrate my very soul the way Nightwish does. I am so grateful that I discovered them. When i saw them live back in May in Lowell and NYC this 33 year old gym rat cried.
Such a beautiful share and reaction! As always you really take us on a new journey and exploration of this song. Tuomas's ode to human empathy. Not only is Tuomas's composition amazing but I love how Troy and Floor arraigned this acoustic version (I assume they did it). Troy's guitar work and harmonies are beautiful and the prog influences make total sense given his previous band Iona was a progressive celtic rock band. Floor's spot on notes despite having to sing lots of words rapidly with big pitch changes, so good. As others have said the second verse is about her meeting Hannes, taking the leap to be a couple, uprooting herself again and moving to Sweden, and then the gift of their daughter Freja. So beautiful and makes my eyes water every time. Thank you again for being open with us and sharing yourself.
Thanks for the heartfelt reaction. I also like the album version for its complexity. Continuing down this path you might like the Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush duet "Don't Give Up" ... bring your hankie. For something completely different, symphonic, and piratey I recommend Visions of Atlantis "Master the Hurricane. Easy to find on YT. Great male and female voices and harmonies, uplifting and epic. Will bring a smile to your face!!
I just feel so much empathy towards you. The pain you carrt is obvious. Please just face your fears little bit of time. Please keep safe and keep your mind healthy, because these reaction videos are one of my favorites on YT
Got to hear Floor sing this version live in May in California, she was every bit this good. You can hardly believe it when you hear it. I thought I would be a mess at my first NW concert but the fans and band all feel so communal and supportive, it ended up feeling warm if anything. I hope one day you get to see NW live, even if this song is part of the setlist. EDIT: "Linusian Blanket"!!!! 😄
That's why music is so great. It helps us to heal from what ever we need healing from. It sooths our souls, minds and hearts. By bringing memories, good and bad, happy and sad. It helps us to process things, events. it helps us go through emotions of all kinds. Nightwish are one of the masters at this. And. You are doing fine. It takes time and effort. You are still standing.
So beautiful. So sorry to hear of your wife. Great reaction my friend & love from the Netherlands ! (and I know what you mean, I've been avoiding songs well pretty much for two decades now)
Healing piece by piece with music is in my opinion the best way to heal or handle the crisis in life. Music, who ever it is created by, if it gets you, let it go thru and after the song is over, I feel empty but calm. You first said there are four instrument and then corrected to three. I think that there is fourth instrument, and it is silence. I saw this song live last year, with arena full of flashlights lit. That was a beautiful and touching moment. Let the emotions flow, it makes you stronger.
I feel you so much my brother. I lost my fiance on Monday September 28th of 2020 from a pulmonary embolism in her lung and I have not been the same since. Much love to you my brother
It's taken me years to again be able to listen to music that makes me "feel"- Nightwish compositions and Floor's voice and empathy get a huge amount of credit for the healing and, where needed, catharsis. It was a stressful day in the paint shop today- these were the colors I needed. Thank you.
"Walk within my poetry" is one of my favorite lines written by Tuomas. I do it in all of his songs. Great to follow you on your trip. Nightwish is such a catharsis for emotions. You still got Auri's "pearl diving on your list?
Seeing the 'Abraxas' CD in the background and PFs 'Dark Side' next to it makes me smile and happy.. great albums!! Put Deep Purples 'Made in Japan' with them and you have my top 3.
lyrics
We see a mother with no child
We meet a stranger poor, exiled
How's the heart while it still beats?
Asks a no-one
Another John Doe
Sorrow hides well in your shell
A fellow man with hurt to spare
Dear one,
Here I am to share the fear
An act of kindness
Without an amen
How's the heart
Underneath the silence?
How's the one
Drowning in the mire?
Let us sound a human paean
Come in, the fire's warm
Burn the rope and dance some more
We met where the cliff greets the sea
Shared a story, took the leap
Rose up rooted, hid a note
You know where
You've been there
Now there's one who came from me
A child of light, another tale
Dear one,
Night will come but not to stay
Why?
The answer's in the
Fair winds my love
Fly towards the calm
Fly utterly lost
Towards a beating heart
How is that heart
Underneath the silence?
How is the one
Drowning in the mire?
Let us sound a human paean
Come on in, the fire's warm
Dull the blade and dance some more

Yes, In the beginning of the song she was the mother with no child. But then after she joined Nightwish she met her future husband Hannes while on tour, when both their bands were playing the same U.S. festival.
Coud't keep it dry here too. No shame, It just hits us in the heart my friend.

To me this song is about human empathy, looking out and caring for each other. Something this world could use more of. The beauty of Tuomas's writing is that it speaks to listeners in so many different ways. I can totally understand your interpretation.

And he has great musicians to interpret his writing.

Much Love to You and Ukraine
💙💛💙🌻🌻🌻
BIG HUG Eric....
Be assured, you are not alone........
I knew what would happen......
Some songs I can`t hear whilst driving.......too dangerous to drive with tears.....
But....again a brilliant reaction/discussion however you like to name it......
And please Eric don't say sorry because of the fact you're human. I feel warmth and dedication if you're talking. Respect man!
I concur
you got me ERIC and i have heard this song 100 times.i concur and ROCK ON
I've found myself unexpectedly crying at Nightwish songs too - yes, they can find your fear and make you cry while reassuring you about the same thing.
Have listened to this many times and just start to melt away with Floors voice. Great song.
I do like how Floor made the sound engineer's life easier (and saved his hearing) by leaning back during the belts at the end.
Sorta knew this one would get you. NW songs should come with warning labels. 😏
Concur.
I saw them in Nov in Antwerp and Floor & Troy play this. Goosebumps from begin to end....
@@mrairbusfan In the Netherlands they also did " How's the heart ".
The whole concert was amazing.
As a man myself you should listen to it again because it's ok to open up things that you are afraid of. You have been lucky to have met people that affect you that much. Take care Eric 🥰
From the spoken part in The Greatest show on Earth "
"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones
Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born
The potential people who could have been here in my place
But who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara...."
Awesome Song. The second verse is for Floor, Hannes and Freja. Thanks Tuomas. PS. Cool Nightwish shirt. Greetings from nothern Germany 🤘
This girl learned how to sing, and took it to another level!!! Holy moly!
Brave men dare to feel the pain and cry....
You are great !
wishing you all the best in life..your lady will see and know that..thanx for this emotional reaction. you're not alone..We Are Here..sending you all the love and support from the Nightwish Army in the Netherlands....
Cheers from Nashville,
Eric
I feel you Eric.
100% an incredible piece of music. As always I appreciate hearing your thoughts.
This acoustic version was, is part of the playlist of their actual tour. Great concert, great song, great reaction.
💜nw💜fj💜
I concur with all the people wanting to hug you, great reaction again..❤
Eric, you are Grate! Wish you all the kindness of the word.
We're with you brother.
I concur God Bless , Rock On Stay Safe!🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
It Sets Our Humanity, Heart Ache and Hope in One Song. Performed by High Talent Piercing into the Mind, Maybe a Gift to Receive.
Well done, thank you. You get healed if you want by such songs on a longer term. Be not afraid. and great reaction as ever. Greetings.
Hope everyone takes this song as a reminder to ask everyone we know how they are, without accepting the perfunctionary "ok."
Hugs from BC Canada to anyone who is not really ok.
Seek someone to talk to, distract yourself until you find some help, & don't ruminate on things if you can.
We all need to be there for each other.
🤩👌💥💯
Right On Eric....
This one always gets me but I still listen to it
Hello, Eric.
I feel for you Eric.
Thanks!
WOW! Thank you so much!
Cheers!
Eric
@@TheWyldesidewithEricClark No Fear my friend , sometimes a cathartic reaction to a piece of music or a singers vocal emotional lure is what is needed ,we are there with you :

Floor Jansen sings "About love I don't know a thing" for Ruben Annink Beste Zangers 2019

i have the teary reaction , yet it reminds me that life will continue even though the love of my life is in a different realm.
You were right the first time...there are 4 instruments. The forth being Floor's persona and presence.
A VOCAL MASTERCLASS
So beautifully done by Floor and Troy, and yourself Eric. We all have these types of feelings. We usually keep them locked away from the world. It is the only way to move on in life. We cannot allow ourselves to "Drown in the mire".
Regarding your commentary. I CONCUR!
🤜🤛
Nightwish did another acoustic song towards the end of their European tour.
Wonderful song
I love the last 2 seconds of the video, the look on Troy's face, like I can't believed she just nailed this so perfectly. Great reaction.
Truly beautiful, and yes very emotional song. Great message.
Thanks Eric for your crisp anyses. Admiration for your talented storytelling!
I am so grateful to get these awesome moments to enjoy good music in good company. Thanks Eric.
Thanks
That "Keep It Simple Stupid" has been mine and my husbands guide in life for the last 15 years 😄
They performed this version at the Wembley arena concert in November, along with Shoemaker it was the performance I was hoping to witness, it was just utterly jaw dropping to hear Floor in person
Never in my life have I ever had music vibrate my very soul the way Nightwish does. I am so grateful that I discovered them. When i saw them live back in May in Lowell and NYC this 33 year old gym rat cried.
Loved your thoughts and comments! 😊👍
Floor will be dropping her fourth single, Invincible, from her upcoming solo album at 1800 Eastern Standard Time in the US on 1/12.
Song is dedicated to those with PTSD.
May I point out how stunning Troy´s guitar playing is in this. Could listen to that the whole day even without vocals.
It takes a tough man to show all the emotions and not edit them out. The song is a masterpiece. So was your reaction. All the best from Finland.
I have said it so many times, floor is just on another level than anybody else.
My sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one
Stay safe and be patient with your grief
@@glendawatson331 Thanks so much for that...
Love the second verse, Thomas wrote that for floor,😊
Seeing the 'Abraxas' CD in the background and PFs 'Dark Side' next to it makes me smile and happy.. great albums!! Put Deep Purples 'Made in Japan' with them and you have my top 3.
