It’s seems you’ve watched Yuta’s video. I like him but a lot of people feel he missed the mark on this one probably cause of the generational gap (just check out his comment section). I think your first interpretation is correct and seems to be the way Japanese youth take it from what I’ve seen online. It’s kinda sad he took these people’s real frustrations and boiled it down to them being “chunni’s”
Ado is a beast. She can do absolutely anything. I hugely recommend her cover of Sheena Ringo's Crime and Punishment next to hear a COMPLETELY different side of her power. Keep in mind that Ado doesn't write lyrics either so Ado songs don't seem to be about her at all. All her songs are written by others so she has no genre either. See above :) I see some really good recommendations for Hanabie and Nemophila below and if you would like to join us in the outrageous J-metal scene you won't regret it!
This song was played literally EVERYWHERE when I went back to Japan back in 2020 and it was funny little kids were even singing to this song😂🫢🫢🫢🫣 At the same time, YOASOBI’s “Yoruni Kakeru” was super popular and I really loved it. Please give it a listen:) this song is super danceable but apparently the lyrics is about depression and death😦(I haven’t really listened to the lyrics yet)
Ado was Utaite before he turned professional. Utaite are singers who mainly cover Vocaloid songs (Anime too). They don't show their identity and make videos with animations instead. They are mostly on Japanese video service platform Niconico. Some Vocaloid producers are extremely personal. The fact that it is possible to write, produce and upload Vocaloid videos virtually alone allows for independence from record labels. Usseewa MV was uploaded the day before Ado's 18th birthday. And it was an immediate hit, both because of Ado's talent and the rebellious lyrics. Ado's original songs such as Usseewa, Readymade, Gira Gira, Odo and others are all written by Vocaloid producers, except for the film One Piece Film Red. That's where the originality of these songs comes from. There are other artists that came from Utaite and are currently in the mainstream of Japanese music, like Yoasobi and Reol. You said you will react to Chanmina songs. I suggest ちゃんみな - 美人 (Official Music Video) - Chanmina - Bijin (English CC) If possible, I would recommend that you invite a female friend to participate in the reaction video. Usseewa is a solid song, but imo her Piano Version is the better version. It's just her voice and a Piano, so it's a lot simpler, but I think the Piano really suits the song. Oh, and Ado is also in the MV for the Piano Version, though they intentionally keep her blurred in the background. Despite the blurring it's still fun to watch her sing and see how animated she gets during a song.

That's where the "controversy" came from. Little kids were saying "うっせぇわ" to their parents and they hated it LOL🤣
