I have a 2017 Ram 2500 with 165,000 miles and the code U010C just started. I was getting up to 12-15 psi boost coming up hill, so I think my turbo is good and the actuator is going out. I cleared the code with the cheap scan tool so I hoping it will stay off for awhile. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Great video. Thanks for showing. I'm having the same code in my 2015 2500. But I don't have the snap on computer. Only a scan tool. I guess I need to find a local mechanic now 🙄
I was ok with the Dorman until I saw the price. And needing programming. City diesel / geno garage sells an upgraded actuator without having to program. Weighing my options but I may go with a new ATS or calibrated power upgraded turbo. Good job fixing the truck.
I agree with what you’re saying in the first few minutes of this but if the vehicle is having a loss of power I would be worried that the turbo is also going bad.
@@nathanurick8320 the turbo was fine. I checked for any play in it but it was pretty solid. The truck is running and driving good now. No more codes and no more check engine light on

The video very good
So I just replaced the turbo actuator with one I found on EBay for around $300, it came with the OBDII calibration tool. It worked perfectly.
@ that’s great, I’m glad to be able to help. Thank you for sharing

Good job fixing the truck.
Could the actuator cause a no start when it's hot 2018 6.7 cummins
I don't think so, because even if you disconnect the turbo from the cooler the truck should be able to start, even with no boost
A bad vgt can cause a hard start no start
I have the same truck and the drain plug is on the drivers side of the radiator on the bottom.
thank you, I did see it
