Hi all, it looks like one of my comments in this weeks video is getting me in a bit of trouble here. I can assure you that my comment about 'old people' was supposed to be light hearted and mean no offence. I did say that it was great to see people enjoying themselves! We get great pleasure talking and interacting with people of all ages, especially those who share the common interest of travel and adventure. Ric x
I'm 63 and much prefer to be with you youngsters. Our adult children and their friends spend more time with us than anyone else 😅. You're as young as you feel, I took no offence at all 😊
It did sting a little, I was a bit disappointed, I didn’t like the music being played at the camp and wouldn’t have chosen to stay there but it left me wondering how old is old? I have a wide range of friends from 18-86, I don’t consider any of them old, just friends. Anyway that aside the trip looked great. Lovely to see the children so involved and having fun. I was a bit worried you didn’t tip the Henna lady?
Just last night I went to dance for those older folk. This time there were many younger people who wanted to learn to dance and they were thrilled with the results after learning what the 'old people' were teaching them.
🙂 On my van, I tracked down the power feed to the reversing beeper, cut through it and using a long 2 wire cable, connected it in between the cut feed and put a switch on the other end in the cab. I can now choose whether I want the beeper on or off when reversing… especially useful on campsites, at night, or cheeky turning places where I don’t want to draw attention to myself 😁 Some vehicles, if you engage and disengage reverse, twice in a row without moving off.. this’ll cancel the reversing beep for that manoeuvre.. mine wasn’t one of them 😂
@@the_lost_traveller The uk law actually states between the hours of 11:30pm and 7am 🙂 Having recently acquired my HGV Class 1 license, I was reminded of this when clueing up for my theory tests. My van was converted by a coach builders, who unfortunately did not add a kill switch. However, the company it was made for (Initial Washroom Solutions) wouldn’t have been using the vehicle between the hours of 11:30pm and 7am anyway 😆😁👍

I don’t like going out of season because I don’t want to be with only old people either, and I’m 68. If you are on campsites out of children’s school holiday time of course the majority will be retired, so usually old or older than a family with young children.
I was on that road a couple of weeks ago in the other direction in a bus from Agadir. Glad I wasn't driving! The banana plantations were amazing, I had no idea they grew here either but do remember seeing bananas growing in Cyprus when I was there last year as well. I always thought they were all West Indies but know that in Spain we have some from the Canary Islands.
Looked like an eventful few days, the Croc Park looked very cool. Great place to visit for fun and some education for the kids. I wanted to ask if they offered crocodile meat at the cafe, would be strange to see that but I've been to a buffalo farm where they did buffalo burgers.
No crocodile meat on the menu. Just crocodile shaped things 🤣 we do find it funny when we visit Aquariums and they have fish on the menu. You feel a little bad 🙈
Lol! We rented the cabin for a few days right opposite your Agadir pitch! Shame we missed you as we were told our presence had halved the average age on the site!
Been enjoying watching your travels for quite a while, we are finally about to do the same with our 4 kids, we pick up a large Burstner (8.8m) in about 2 weeeks, then a couple of the Wild festivals in the south before we head into Europe. Could you help us with a dilemma? we're thinking of taking our car with us as we travel, wife is happy to drive it and we're ok with the added cost. So wondered so far, how often have you wished you'd had a car with you? Thanks
Hi, sounds like you've got some awesome adventures planned!!! For us, a car is not an option, so we tend to plan to visit and park in places that have access by foot or public transport. Lots of motorhomes do take cars (mainly on trailers), just need to consider where you're going to park it! 👍
I just hope your parents were not listening to you saying you don’t won’t to be with old people. I am 73 and we interact with lots of younger people on our travels and enjoy each others company perhaps you should try it.
I am older too, and my friends are decades either side. As a full-time traveller (in my sixties) it seems it is mostly the UK who don't mix ages. I think many people miss out x
I'm keiras mum and I'm definitely not old thank you 😂 no harm meant by what Rick said, no different to older people saying they don't want to be around kids on a holiday
We really enjoy watching your videos and your adventures. Do you do many videos on how you home school/educate the children? It would be really interesting to know as it is something we are seriously considing ourselves for our son.
@Touringwiththekids it would just be interesting to know what methods you use for teaching them, such as work books or, I don't want to say structured learning because you're on the road and the beauty of home/road educating is that it can be led by them and spontaneous I guess. Just interested to know really 😊
Old people!!!! How rude, I'm 69 my wife is 68, we never play "Old People" music. We're into edm/dance music etc, also recently had a holiday at Ushuaia in Ibiza... If you heard the music that comes out of our Campervan you wouldn't think it had a couple of "OLD PEOPLE" in it....🚌🎶🎶 I'm also a Lorry Driver with 43 yrs experience, so I could teach you how to do a proper walk round check before you hit the road and also how to exit the cab properly, it frightens me when I see Keira exit forwards & the kids will copy, its not to bad for you as its only a low cab and you're tall, I'd hate to hear that Keira or any of the kids have exited the cab facing forwards & face planted the tarmac...Always exit the cab backwards holding both grab handles. I've been subscriber for a while, I won't unsubscribe FOR NOW...😡😤
Hi guys Could you share the second site please? Not the one with the old folk lol, yes we are semi retired 😊 however we will be heading to Morocco next month in our fifth wheel so like you we need a little more space to manoeuvre 👍😊
No worries, it called Grand Camping in Taroudant. Most campsite we've been to have room for large vehicles. We've only had 2 in Morocco which we couldn't 👍
@@Touringwiththekids That’s awesome thank you, if you have a list of sites you’d recommend for larger units that are pretty accessible too I’d be very grateful, I understand it’s probably a lot to work out but even just a few recommendations would really help. Enjoy your videos too. 😊
I am only 2 months behind on your videos and have been thinking the children's seat in the cab could be made more comfortable if they each had a cup holder console fitted with an usb port so they can listen to music or do homework

Rick check your dashboard controls if you see a switch with an outline of a vehicle facing down a slope you need to turn the hill decent on then it will kick in when needed it will come as a bit of a jolt when not used to it. One thing a bit offended by ricks comments about older people as a sixty two year old not impressed don't forget wisdom comes with age and one day you will reach old age
@@alanhat5252 I am not a fan of noise of any type through working in a noisy area so prefer to avoid crowds, I tolerate well behaved children who remember to say please and thank you (pleasant suprise) but cannot abide the one's who scream just for the sake of it. When I first started working at seventeen the old boy I worked with was a tail gunner in a Lancaster and all the youngsters showed great respect for him hence the comment with age comes wisdom all the youngsters turned to him for advice
I am a bit disappointed in you Rick , we love your channel . As we are ‘Old people ‘ in your eyes , it didn’t come across as lighthearted and your response about ‘them enjoying themselves ‘ was a little bit patronising.
I love what your doing but your husband is ingredient to people who are older! Plus he can't drive a large vehicle because that parking space in the caravan park was easy for the truck! Im a 63 year old bus driver
Rick please relax with the parking I’m a retired coach driver an oldie you can get that Tonga toy in with ease to all the places you’ve go by the way just a thought is the retarder on the floor meaning a button by the. Left of the Steering column just a guess
Do you know how it works then? I've heard on the automatic model there's a button on the RH steering lever. Ours is a manual and has no RH lever so no button
@@Touringwiththekidsthere's a comment describing a button with a hieroglyph of a down-facing lorry, also, on the internet there's pictures of a small round button on the floor to operate with your left heel.
There is no need for you to be young or old. We were old and we were young. The old are in the grave. You only have to❤❤❤ work hard. You will be among the winners, and be sure that everyone loves you without exaggeration. You are in one of the most generous countries on the planet.
I’m sure you’ll apologise to all the oldies that support your channel Rick (I’m 66) and I’m certain you meant no offence 😂😂.. Great vlog love watching you all and wish you would do more .. continue to enjoy your journey giving your kids such fabulous experiences and plenty to talk to you about when your old !! 🤣🤣
Thank you, we're having a fantastic time out here and have got lots more to see! Of course we meant no offence with that comment it was supposed to be light hearted.
I’m 68 and I don’t like being on oldie only sites either. We went across the channel in June and September last year. There were some children in June on one site, but otherwise none. I didn’t like it at all, much prefer a good mix of ages.
The revs were in the yellow, but I agree, I still need to find that sweet stop and figure out the exhaust brake 👍Hopefully before we hit the high atlas mountains ⛰️
Wow. I saw rhe comments and i have to agree, "I just don't want to be aeouns ols people". Judgemental about an age, doesnt match up with open minded travel. I will wait for a further explanation of ageism before deciding whether to stay subscribed. Not good modeling for your kids.
I'm just watching your latest video I feel it is a shame that you didn't put the windows in the back for the children because the children behind the adults I'm missing an awful lot Wednesday could have seen are you going to put windows in enjoying your tour and videos
Come on everyone, the old comments were not as bad as you are all making out really no different to older people saying they don't want to holiday around children 😂😂😂😂 🤷🏻♀️
See the pinned comment at the top but don't forget he's really not skilled at expressing himself, he's actually talking about the site not the people in it.
Would be great if on arriving at a campsite you took film on the signage so we don’t have to guess where it is! Also I am 61 and the ageist comment was not appreciated😊. We ex forces can drink & party like no others 😂
Retarder will only work when you have cruise control on, and press the minus button to reduce your speed. I meant that on the downward slope. How ever the retarder should work as normal . Awesome adage to the trip of a life time, for you as a family.
I’m going to rant again. You don’t want to be with old people. Have you told that to your grandparents. God I loved this channel until today. You need to make amends.
Rick - bit harsh about older folk really. Wasn't impressed by that at all to be honest, and more - the amount of grey in your beard, won't be long before you get called the same ...
@@Touringwiththekids Sure, you said good on them - but in context it didn't come across "nice" at all. I'm probably a decade or so older than you but I'd still have thought about what I was saying. To many, especially "older" people, you're living a pretty charmed life, travelling, earning money for videoing etc - an opportunity that didn't exist for a lot. And no doubt that your parents helped you on the journey towards. Don't get me wrong, I love your adventures, I just think with kids too, there's way too much anti everything in the world to be picking on old folk - kind of how it came across as you can see from some of the comments. Maybe check some of your viewer demographics....
Well, if you don't like camping resorts and you don't like old people, you should consider doing something different. Way to get comments by the way. Disparage a large category of other people. 😕
They normally _do_ do "something different" if you watch the other videos. He's not alone in this view, many retired people dislike these 'retirement camps' too.
I wish you and those wonderful children safe and exciting adventures. This old person follows other intrepid travelers, who like old farts. I will stick with them instead.

I'm keiras mum and I'm definitely not old thank you 😂 no harm meant by what Rick said, no different to older people saying they don't want to be around kids on a holiday
He phrased it badly but it seemed to be about the way the site is structured & run.
Another amazing adventure
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it 😀
We really enjoy watching your videos and your adventures. Do you do many videos on how you home school/educate the children? It would be really interesting to know as it is something we are seriously considing ourselves for our son.
Hi Emma, we haven't done any videos on that subject. But happy to answer any questions you may have?
@Touringwiththekids it would just be interesting to know what methods you use for teaching them, such as work books or, I don't want to say structured learning because you're on the road and the beauty of home/road educating is that it can be led by them and spontaneous I guess. Just interested to know really 😊
Old people!!!! How rude, I'm 69 my wife is 68, we never play "Old People" music. We're into edm/dance music etc, also recently had a holiday at Ushuaia in Ibiza...
If you heard the music that comes out of our Campervan you wouldn't think it had a couple of "OLD PEOPLE" in it....🚌🎶🎶
I'm also a Lorry Driver with 43 yrs experience, so I could teach you how to do a proper walk round check before you hit the road and also how to exit the cab properly, it frightens me when I see Keira exit forwards & the kids will copy, its not to bad for you as its only a low cab and you're tall, I'd hate to hear that Keira or any of the kids have exited the cab facing forwards & face planted the tarmac...Always exit the cab backwards holding both grab handles.
I've been subscriber for a while, I won't unsubscribe FOR NOW...😡😤
Hi guys
Could you share the second site please? Not the one with the old folk lol, yes we are semi retired 😊 however we will be heading to Morocco next month in our fifth wheel so like you we need a little more space to manoeuvre 👍😊
No worries, it called Grand Camping in Taroudant. Most campsite we've been to have room for large vehicles. We've only had 2 in Morocco which we couldn't 👍
@@Touringwiththekids
That’s awesome thank you, if you have a list of sites you’d recommend for larger units that are pretty accessible too I’d be very grateful, I understand it’s probably a lot to work out but even just a few recommendations would really help. Enjoy your videos too. 😊
@@Touringwiththekidscan you name the unsuitable ones please? Crossing them off to start with is much easier than finding out when you get there.
I am only 2 months behind on your videos and have been thinking the children's seat in the cab could be made more comfortable if they each had a cup holder console fitted with an usb port so they can listen to music or do homework
Pull the right hand stalk back in controlsyour exhaust
Pull your right hand stalk back to work your exhaust brake some have 2 stages then a orange light will come on dash to show its ON
Ours is a manual and doesn't have the right hand stalk. The right hand stalk is where it is on the automatics. This is why I'm getting confused 😕
@@Touringwiththekidsthere's other comments suggesting there's a switch on the dash with a hieroglyph of a down-facing lorry.
@@Touringwiththekidswhen you turn the key & all the lights come on is there one that looks likely?
I hope u gives some tips to that young girl for doing free henna
And pls can u let us know about the prices of the meals and the places named
Thank u we enjoying morocco ❤
Rick check your dashboard controls if you see a switch with an outline of a vehicle facing down a slope you need to turn the hill decent on then it will kick in when needed it will come as a bit of a jolt when not used to it.
One thing a bit offended by ricks comments about older people as a sixty two year old not impressed don't forget wisdom comes with age and one day you will reach old age
The "old people" comment seemed to be more about the site than about the people in it, "Butlitz" for kids is just as bad.
Really enjoyed again.
Glad to hear it!
Ok great video Lockwood Seymour
I am a bit disappointed in you Rick , we love your channel . As we are ‘Old people ‘ in your eyes , it didn’t come across as lighthearted and your response about ‘them enjoying themselves ‘ was a little bit patronising.
I love what your doing but your husband is ingredient to people who are older! Plus he can't drive a large vehicle because that parking space in the caravan park was easy for the truck! Im a 63 year old bus driver
"ingredient"??
Wilkom to Morocco
Rick please relax with the parking I’m a retired coach driver an oldie you can get that Tonga toy in with ease to all the places you’ve go by the way just a thought is the retarder on the floor meaning a button by the. Left of the Steering column just a guess
a floor button can also be right back by the seat but other comments are suggesting it's a switch on the dash or a stalk on the steering column
The exhaust brake doesnt come on automatically on the Mercedes, only the MAN lorries.
Thanks for manning up to your comment. It’s not likely to happen but if we had a beer together I think we’d get on.
There is no need for you to be young or old. We were old and we were young. The old are in the grave. You only have to❤❤❤ work hard. You will be among the winners, and be sure that everyone loves you without exaggeration. You are in one of the most generous countries on the planet.
Teddy..I live on Oahu, in Hawaii and grow my own apple bananas.
Don’t be worrying about it us oldies have sense of humour 😂 well most of us that is 😉
I’m 68 and I don’t like being on oldie only sites either. We went across the channel in June and September last year. There were some children in June on one site, but otherwise none. I didn’t like it at all, much prefer a good mix of ages.
@@Antmadmandaexactly! They're as bad as 'Butlitz' for kids!
The royal ‘We’ … it was you Rick who said it … Steady Alan 👅
2:26 you really do need to maximize your engine braking, cooked wheel brakes is no fun, they can actually shatter!
The comment was more about the site than about the people in it.
When are you going to put the windows in three cab for the kids?
Coming soon! We've had a big delay, so we'll get them back in the UK
I'm just watching your latest video I feel it is a shame that you didn't put the windows in the back for the children because the children behind the adults I'm missing an awful lot Wednesday could have seen are you going to put windows in enjoying your tour and videos
Windows are coming soon 😀 always been the plan. We have just had a delay
Plus he gets scared in uncomfortable places
Come on everyone, the old comments were not as bad as you are all making out really no different to older people saying they don't want to holiday around children 😂😂😂😂 🤷🏻♀️
I’d still like Rick to talk about the old folk comment. I saw your reply to the other comment. You sound like Rishi Sunak.
See the pinned comment at the top but don't forget he's really not skilled at expressing himself, he's actually talking about the site not the people in it.
Jack & Teddy need a haircut ❤.
Rude
Jack & Teddy look just fine
Would be great if on arriving at a campsite you took film on the signage so we don’t have to guess where it is! Also I am 61 and the ageist comment was not appreciated😊. We ex forces can drink & party like no others 😂
We do sometimes put the location names up. But please do feel free to ask if you want to know about a particular location. Always here to help 👍
How old is old?
Didnt you see big snakes in crocpark?
Retarder will only work when you have cruise control on, and press the minus button to reduce your speed. I meant that on the downward slope. How ever the retarder should work as normal . Awesome adage to the trip of a life time, for you as a family.
Ouch! Age 70 here. Message received loud & clear. Bye
The comment was more about the site than about the people in it, many retired people don't like these sites either.
Alan … 👅
I’m going to rant again. You don’t want to be with old people. Have you told that to your grandparents. God I loved this channel until today. You need to make amends.
Lighten up a bit, I'm sure old people say the same about not wanting to be around kids on holiday 😂
@@paulalawson6077please don’t generalise. I’m 68 and love being around children. My pet hate is people who say the prefer dogs to children.
I'm just saying that the comment was taken too seriously, really wasn't that bad,

❤😂
Wot is the strange s thing you have seen on your journey s, and have you seen eney scary place you have stopped.
You really are having an amazing time! What a journey and adventure for the kids x
Thankyou ❤️ Kids loved Croc Parc
@@Touringwiththekidsbetter than crock parck then?
Any room for Alan on the bus 👅
Rick - bit harsh about older folk really. Wasn't impressed by that at all to be honest, and more - the amount of grey in your beard, won't be long before you get called the same ...
🤣 yeah, you're right about the grey beard!
I did say good on them for enjoying themselves!
As a very old person I quite understand why they wouldn’t want to stay at a campground full of old people when they have small children
The comment about "enjoying themselves" was extremely patronising@@Touringwiththekids
@@Touringwiththekidswas the comment about the way the site is structured or the people in it?
@8:00 why stay there then, no need to stay in campsites. Stop complaining……..
did you notice 8:18?
Shame. I bet a lot of old used to watch your vlog.
I’m 61. Is that old. I live in a campervan most of the year. I won’t unsubscribe but I wasn’t impressed with Ricks comments about old folk.
😂😂😂😂 61 and offended by age jokes ... Sounds like you've already got one foot in the grave 😂
Fairly sure he wasn’t joking!!
I'm 71 soon, and I'd hate to be on a campsite full of old people 😃
@@CliffordDiveexactly! "Butlitz" for kids is equally dire.

63 year OLD person here. Not impresed with the comment. Age is just a state of mind. Time to bail for me.
People that announce there desire to leave are only asking for attention, just leave quietly
@12:17 why?
have you got the right timestamp?
Well, if you don't like camping resorts and you don't like old people, you should consider doing something different. Way to get comments by the way. Disparage a large category of other people. 😕
They normally _do_ do "something different" if you watch the other videos.
He's not alone in this view, many retired people dislike these 'retirement camps' too.
@@alanhat5252 come on Alan, take a breather 👅

Why do you feel you cant be around old folk thats so disrespectful people young and old need to get along and your comment was way way out of order i did look forward to sunday evening so we could catch up with you and your beautiful family. Not any more you are out of order bye bye
Rick wasn't talking about old people he was talking about the way the site has been set up. Badly phrased but no malice intended.
Bigoted opinion.
In YOUR opinion. Are we not all allowed our own opinion?
which opinion?
