  • Van Life in Morocco gets off to the BEST start! 🇲🇦
    We made it guys 😍🎉👏 we drove all the way from the UK to Africa in our lorry, Tori! And it's pretty clear that we are loving it so far! It might be a little different to what we expected, but in an absolutely, this is thrilling sort of way and we cannot wait to see what experiences Morocco is going to give us during our time here.
    We're going to be spending 3 months in Morocco, so this is going to be quite the trip of a lifetime and we hope you'll enjoy touring along with us 😆

    Just started following your Journey guys (I've done it a bit backwards as I first saw your returning back from Morocco first), its great that you've put together a great Vlog for everyone to follow, really good to hear your experiences travelling in your 7.5 ton van conversion. Really appreciate your vlog, keep up the great series and looking forward to seeing more for 2024

    I noticed the children sitting behind the driver and passenger seats are struggling to see the scenery as you travel. Have you considered installing windows so they can observe the scenery without having to twist around?. Really appreciate all your efforts in producing your videos. They keep you wanting more.

    Great videos. A couple thoughts from seeing the kids in the back bench seat of the cab.
    Could you put a couple windows on either side so the boy in the back doesn’t have to sit sideways to see anything?I’m assuming it’s happening on the other side but it’s hardly ever on video.
    Secondly, could you somehow pop the front of the bench seat up or the individual car seats propped up under the front so the kids are reclined just a bit I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t appreciate sitting that straight up like the troopers in the back do all the time.
    Just a grandma here looking out for the littles. 😉 ❤

      I feel sorry for the kids, all 3 look bored out of the minds sat in the back with 90 degree seat backs,& what looks to be no leg room (not surprising as that’s designed for a bed) and no windows.

    • @Touringwiththekids
      @Touringwiththekids  7 місяців тому +1

      They were actually engrossed in a movie in some of the clips. Please don't 'feel sorry' for them, they are comfortable and happy

      Hey! Aw not to worry, we have windows on order to be fitted when we get back to the UK. Unfortunately we had a delay getting them before we came out to Europe. The kids are usually kept busy with reading, or watching films, or colouring. They are quite happy 😊

    • @Nick-me7ql
      @Nick-me7ql 7 місяців тому +1

      I must agree that the kids look so uncomfortable. Their seats look like such an after thought just bolted to the cab wall at a 90deg angle. It can't be comfortable 😞

    I'd love to become a channel member, but like Ric I'm a cheepass! :-D
    Besides, when you mentioned 'exclusive content' my bad mind remembered Ric's attempt last year to wind Keira up with comments about only fans!
    Your videos are improving all the time (they've always been good) - so glad I found the time to watch your 30min video (just before you got to Gibraltar) and catch up finally (my mind won't let me watch them out of order and I hate skipping videos - seems wrong given the effort you put into them!) - are you more relaxed than when you were fitting out Tori / when you drove through a stormy northern France - you seem to have more of your sparkle back
    Thanks for taking us with you to these wonderful places - apart from not having the health to adventure, I'm too much of a cheepass!

Don't pay when they tell you always go down. Try to go to orika its nice mountains and you can have food on the river coming down from the mountains. That ferry looked amazing. Never been on one that put high vehicles anywhere other than on the lower deck. That ramp looked scary.
    I had forgotten about Morocco being mostly Muslim. The call to prayer always grates on my nerves, far more than I can possibly justify. I’d be on edge for ten minutes before it, waiting for it to start, near palpitations all through it and take some time to calm down afterwards. I have no idea why, or even how that started, but it means I won’t be visiting there. To be fair, I don’t like the Angelus bell at noon and 6, here either, but that’s much less obtrusive than the call to prayer.
    I can usually ignore it and carry on with what I’m doing.
    But then, I guess, that’s sort of the point. You’re not supposed to carry on with whatever you’re doing, are you? So maybe it’s like that for good reason. Doesn’t make me very prayerful, though. If anything, quite the opposite.
    I skipped ahead a couple of seconds, when I heard it start.
    There are water purification tablets that are a bit of a misnomer, but they do at least make the water safe. I’m having a senior moment and can’t remember what they’re called, but they are typically available in outdoorsy shops, caravan accessory outlets, marine chandlers and such places. Home brewers use something similar, so probably available through their outlets too, though obviously not in Morocco.
    If you do get bad water in your tank, a flush through with one or two of those will sort it out.
    I’m not brave enough to take the lorry on the continent, yet. I’m worried I might swipe a balcony off an ancient stone building that has no footpath outside and the balcony sticks out over the road. I’ve driven cars in such places and, as a hgv qualified driver, I’m constantly aware of overhead obstacles, even when they don’t actually affect me, so I’ve always wondered how they manage. I’ve never seen a sign warning that the street is narrower at a height than it is on the ground. In my nightmares, I’d successfully navigate half way up such a street, then discover I couldn’t get through and have to reverse back down, against the flow, with angry locals trying to get past. Shudder!

    We went to Marrakech, it was ok, remember they don't use bottled water to wash and cook food. Don't shake left hand. Keep yourself covered up. A LOT of kids begging. Avoid people with snakes, monkeys, teeth!!, tattoo henna woman. If you go to Marrakech main souk market be sure to see the meat market with live demonstrations of poultry preparation including lots of blood, flies and filth. It's a good experience and makes you appreciate coming back to civilisation. ❤😊
