Hope Ric got Tori up the ferry steps again ... He's pretty skilled at that as most of us won't even try! There might have been no scammers at the port because of the heavy police presence Teddy did a great impression of a teenager - 'get up this early, nope' :-D Loved the 'mild concern' that Teddy was happy with a stranger's kiss after some sweets! Not sure if it was this video or the last, but watching Piper and Jack follow Ric through the crowds really shows how sensible they are ... Piper really does have an old sole, she's so unflappable! In 79 whilst touring Europe with our parents, my sister and I met a Dutch chap (early 20s) who, after befriending us and our parents, took us out for an ice cream in his 2CV ... it was many years later that my sister (who was 10 at the time) revealed that he'd proposed to her! Apparently our mum had said 'he means in a few years when you're old enough' ... the 70s were very different times (and our mother's always been very naive, she once got a lift from a chap because he had a tin of cat food on the parcel shelf!)
Also the silver edging rail could cause a leaking issue. Enjoy your travels. What a lovely man giving the children sweets. Hope you have a lovely trip! ❤xxx All that sugar has caused sleepless nights.
Good night everyone and the kids are you all enjoying your adventures in your new 😢ve I hope you had a good Christmas and a happy new year please keep it up with your videos
WOW! Thank goodness you didn’t get attacked by a monkey again! I hope your adventures in Morocco are fun. Since we only went there for one day we didn’t really discover much. From Beth
Enjoying your adventures guys and definitely sticking around for more Morocco fun still to come. Thanks for sharing! Question on your solar setup, would you install flexi panels again if you were to choose between rigid and flexi again? Are they not overheating/underperforming in hot weather? Any other issues to consider? I was looking in your previous videos but don't think you filmed having them installed?
The flexi panels are performing as well as they should. It's important that they are fixed down to the roof properly to allow air flow and water escape. People tend to have issues when they don't do this creating effectively a sealed greenhouse between the panel and roof. Our main reason was weight, flexi panel 5kg and rigid 15kg plus brackets. We can also heat our truma hot water off our setup 👍
@@Touringwiththekids thanks for responding. Same considerations here in favour of flexi. Can you recommend anyone on YT who shows how to fix them properly?
Roundabouts in Spain: I have no idea why they sometimes add an extra lane on the approach. However, one important thing to know, is that learners are trained to go around the outside lane of the roundabout even if going to the last exit. And if you cut accross them you are in the wrong.
🤦♀️🤷♀️🚢 now that’s just mean…. 😮 hurry back with the next instalment. Also check out the Roaming Radfords who did a fab Morocco trip last year! Safe travels.
Wow, exciting times. Does it feel like the first time you went travelling? Going to Africa must be similar to your first trips as there's the unknown aspect of it all. Plus nice to be continued....Will you fit on the boat haha.
Ric hit it on the head. Spain can cause a lot of issues for people crossing over from Gib, especially if you don't have the proof. Have heard of some people not being able to get back into Gib because of it.
Unfortunately, stamps in your passports are the big thing nowadays. When entering the EU you get a stamp and when leaving you get an Exit stamp. My son and I were in Germany 2021 and when coming back home the authorities in Hook of Holland didn't put an exit stamp in his passport. Last September we wanted to spend a long weekend in Belgium and the French gave us all sorts of trouble because they were saying that he overstayed in the EU. It took us a good three hours before we were allowed to continue. By the way, I'm German and, thank heaven, don't have that problem with those blimming entry and exit stamps. Have a great timne in Africa and make sure you don't lose the ticket.
All countries UK included can ask the questions you were asked, even Entering Spain or France, though they dont usually ask . Entering Spain France you could still be asked where you are going, do you have sufficient monies for your visit.
You were extremely lucky. Your experience is the consequence of the UKs stupidity in leaving the EU, it is nothing to do with Spains relationship with Gibraltar. Freedom of movement for third country (including the UK) nationals within all the EU follows very specific rules, and no amount of British exceptionism will change that.
What the Spanish seem to forget is Gibraltar companies employ a lot of people from la Linea and Algeciras where the Spanish unemployment rate is sky high.
If you don’t like the roundabouts In spain then good luck in Morocco 😂 you’re expected to give way to the left when entering the roundabout but give way to any main roads entering from the on the right, meaning you have to stop half way if your taking the 3rd or 4th exit. It’s madness!!
You should get a job with the bbc. That’s what they do. They make you wait for the next episode. I hope it is all going well for you with the crossing. Good luck x
Watcha - a bit random but wondered how you are all finding the compost loo? How are the kids managing it? We sre tempted to get one but not sure about thr kids coping? 🤔🤔
Kids are fine with it, not a problem at all. We are having a few niggly issues with this one, but overall we think a compost is so much better than a cassette
Maybe take into account that Spanish nationals who have long been settled in the UK have been denied re- entry to the UK after visiting relatives in Spain, and one lady was actually deported back there over Christmas. It wouldn't surprise me if the Spanish authorities are looking critically at UK nationals moving between Gibraltar and Spain when our Home Office is acting illegally.
It's really nothing against you. But Kip? in the form of fries? Is it the same as rectangular fish fingers? I've never seen that! A rectangular one? FISH? Greetings from the fishing village of Spakenburg, the Netherlands.
Well I’ve been travelling often on in and out of Gibraltar since the early 80s and the police and the customs and the authorities. I’ve always been a pain in the arse and they always will be a pain in the arse.
Things have changed since Brexit and you may get caught out the same way visiting France or Spain. Not sure how stongley they are applying this but on the UK Gov site for visiting France it says :- At French border control, you may need to: show proof of where you intend to stay, for example, a hotel booking or proof of address if visiting your own property show proof of insurance for your trip - check FCDO’s travel insurance guidance show a return or onward ticket prove that you have enough money for your whole stay
Yeah it's odd, we've crossed into France several times now since Brexit and have never once been asked for any of this. And it's interesting because if you are travelling by motorhome, which of course is 100% allowed, then you aren't going to have proof of where you are staying.
I think it may apply more to people flying but also depend on the person on duty. We have a french registered van and french residency card but the first two times after Brexit UK to France they just stamped our UK passports regardless no questions asked.@@Touringwiththekids
It’s happening all the time apparently. We watch other UA-cam campers and they we in exactly the same situation. The Spanish being twats 🤬. Enjoy your travels. Stay safe. X
Please please don’t let your kids out of sight , they are very blonde and will attract attention. Hold on to them at all times I know you will but I just panic. Stay safe x
Obviously the Spanish border staff failed to read your passport correctly and missed the immortal words " His Britannic Majesty's Secretary of State requests and requires in the name of Her Majesty all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary." :-(
unfortunately its not crap, since brexit you have to produce evidence you be leaving the EU. if you had booked the travel to Morocco 2:05 then you would have been, fine, or proof of departure from EU. work in travel and its been a nightmare since brexit
Some people are latent racists and expect to export their way of thinking and impose it on Africans. Thousands of people visit Morocco including campers. If you change your perspective, Morocco is better welcoming than the UK. Morocco is a kingdom with wonderful culture. Some young Brits do not know History. Morocco used to be an empire. The first university in the world is in Fes, Morocco. The Europeans used to learn from the Arabs. It is forgotten.
Your issue between gib and Spain as real nowadays and is actually a requirement that has come in within the last 12 months - the issue is more that some enforce it and some don’t - interestingly they do only seem to pick on the British We are British with Spanish residency and just get waived through - how frustrating for normal travellers tho !
Fairly standard for Gibraltar. I used to fly in there all the time and cross the border into Spain on foot each time - dragging my luggage behind me. :-). I know you will, but do take extra care with your lovely blonde-haired children in Morocco as they are fascinated by them. It's many years since I've been to North Africa but it was always an issue being a pale westerner where the local young men were concerned.

Not sure about YT videos on installation. We used a small company called Sunnyside Up Solar as they came to us to install 👍
Desserts if only choose one then Custard, but hey knows in Africa go with all three. Loving the blogs. ENJOY
Quite a few UA-camrs have had this problem at Gibraltar getting back to their motorhomes
Can you post more of just relaxed day in the Loorey

The Three Lanes. 5 meters is to get to the right side of the 2 lanes. Pre-sort?

We have our 90 days in the schengen area, so we are legally allowed to be in Spain. We are following the rules
third country now you know ! we moved to europe and got out in time before the madness, gutted its a 2 part'er take care all of you...
