Do a reaction on Pentagram's song called Sign of the wolf or their song Dying World from the same album! Love that doom metal band, they should've gained more fame
This is so much the start of Doom and the Candlemass! Otherwise The Obsessed from The Church within... dont remember the titles but the music. Street... something was one... Wino is amazing!!! And a great black sabbath continuing of music.
To me, Black Sabbath is and will always be the best AND most influential band ever. The first 6 albums especially are virtually flawless as far as I'm concerned.. 👌 The voice of Ozzy and the mighty riffs of Iommi rightfully gets most of the spotlight, but to me, Butler/Ward is the finest rhythm group in all of rock.. 🤘🤘
Excellent reaction! Black Sabbath is the best, biggest, most influential band in the history of Heavy Metal!!! And the band's albums released in the 70s are sacred, immortal, masterpieces!!! I suggest the reaction, analysis of the song "Snowblind", another masterful masterpiece by Sabbath!!! Greetings from Brazil!!!
Tony Iommi is an extraterrestrial who was brought to Earth to give us a lot of pleasure with his countless masterful riffs, his musical genius, etc... And Black Sabbath is the biggest, best band in the history of Heavy Metal, and probably one of the bands, perhaps the band that most influenced people linked to music, especially those linked to rock and heavy metal...
A great song indeed That cough at the start of the song is actually a recording of Toni Iomi after hitting a bong in the studio Bill Ward's drumming is reaching Bonham levels of blugening ✌️🧐🤘
Black Sabbath just happens to be the greatest band of all time, no wonder Judson appreciates it! Please react to MY favorite Black Sabbath song of all time, Sabra Cadabra. Absolute Mastery at all levels. Judson won't know what to do with himself! 😂
According to Geezer Butler Sweet Leaf was actually a name brand of cigarettes he used to buy in Ireland. The song is named after Irish Cigarettes.🤷♂️🤘
Doom metal is addictive! There are several sacred bands like Candlemass ("Epicus Doomicus Metallicus" through "Tales of Creation"), Saint Vitus, Pentagram, Cathedral (mainly LP "Forest of Equilibrium" and EP "Soul Sacrifice"), Trouble, Electric Wizard, Cianide ("The Dying Truth" and "A Descent into Hell" albums), Asphyx ("The Rack" and "Last One on Earth" albums), Witchfinder General, Winter, Bethlehem ("Dark Metal" album), Samael ("Worship Him" album), Burzum ("Burzum" through "Filosofem"), Burning Witch, Goatsnake, Count Raven, Dawn of Winter ("The Peaceful Dead" album), Evoken ("Quietus" album), Esoteric, The Wounded Kings, Cirith Ungol, Nightstick, Paradise Lost ("Gothic" album), Solitude Aeturnus, The Obsessed, Crowbar, Kyuss, 5ive, Sons of Otis, Iron Man (the band), Black Sabbath, Spectral Voice, Rippikoulu, Cavurn, Disembowelment, Warhorse, Sleep, High on Fire ("The Art of Self Defense" album), Earthride, Acid King, Blood Farmers, Reverend Bizarre, etc...
jeah. some Dio always appreciated. (sidenote: "heaven and hell + "die young" would be my other faves from that album). - Not to take sth. away from that great Ozzy stuff right here :)
I was about 8 yrs old when I first heard this album, I had this little suitcase record player, and digging though my parents records I found this. Loved this song..even though I didn't understand what it was about😄 The whole album is fantastic .I think my mom said it was given to my dad. It certainly wasn't anything I ever heard them play. Created a true metalhead in me.
The title Sweetleaf came from a package of cigarettes that Geezer Butler was smoking from Italy called Sweet Anton and on the packet it it read " The sweetest leaf money can buy" so Geezer thought that was a great line , Sweetleaf. Please do more Sabbath and Ozzy
I’m going to now keep commenting this: Silverchair’s “Emotion Sickness” from their 1999 album called Neon Ballroom. I think Judson would really enjoy the intricacies of what’s happening throughout.
randy rhoads was a awesome guitar player at that time when he was with black sabbath before Zakk Wylde join in another great guitar player he also have a band called black label society i would recommend give them a listen
I would be interested to see both of you react to a Danish instrumental rock(ish) band called Papir. I've not seen anyone react to these yet. I would recommend VI.III (they save their creativity for the music and only number their albums and songs, after the first two albums) as it's one of their less experimental tunes as well as being fairly short for them (a bit over 9 minutes).
Some love to Chevelle, they've got a lot of great songs: I get it, The Red, The Clincher, Send the Pain Below, Take out the GunMan... Great Channel. Keep it up.
So when are we going to get Richard reacting to music that Judson recommends? EDIT: NEVERMIND... I just saw Royal Blood - Honeybrains (Metalhead reacts to pianist’s suggestion) ua-cam.com/video/09XeJkdRZXs/v-deo.html
Please do some Mars Volta! They have so many interesting songs and they sound heavier and denser than most metal bands! Tetragrammaton Roulette Dares Drunkship of Latterns Visceras Eyes Interactic ESP Televators
We didn't call it sweet leaf back in the seventies. It was weed or grass or ganja or some other words. Black Sabbath just tweaked the title so its not so obvious. That was done to keep people guessing. Some people would figure it out and some people would think about it not knowing what it's really about but to put their own spin on it plus.....what a creative title to a song
Please consider doing Liliac's (pronounced Lily - Ack) cover of Black Sabath's Heaven and Hell. Liliac is family band of 5 siblings age 16-24. the singer Melody has been nicknamed Melodia and has played with Vinny Appice and the band was asked by Wendy Dio to do The Last in Line for a Dio cancer tribute fund. Dio is Melody's idol. The band has 3 albums of covers and started as a cover band, but they also have 3 albums of originals. They are no longer a cover band, but occasionally do covers they enjoy playing. Heaven and Hell is a newer cover and they perform it extremely well, staying true to the original and also adding a bit of their own to it. My suggestion stays with your Black Sabbath journey, but as a cover when Dio was the singer. Thank you for considering this, if you do consider it. 😀 ua-cam.com/video/zIl26vqo9l4/v-deo.html Liliac does not block their videos on UA-cam.
Stoner/Doom? St Vitus - Born Too Late Candlemass - Black Stone Wielder Fister - Antitheist YOB - Prepare the Ground Play the man some better Sabbath too though! A little Sabra Cadabra wouldn't hurt him
i am steadfast in my belief that MASTERS OF REALITY is BLACK SABBATH at the absolute best they ever were...if u r looking for the definition of DOOM METAL..look no further
black Sabbathis my favorite band, but this song is kinda low energy...there are better songs on this album. unless you're really really stoned, then this song is great.
I bought the album, Master of Reality, when it came out in 1971, poster and all. Loved the album but hated “ Sweetleaf”-the first song on Side A, a simple boring riff endlessly repeated . Have never understood the appeal of this song when there are so many other truly great Sabbath songs.
Hi guys! Glory box is not Portishead. It is written by John Martyn, that came from Isaac Hayes “Ike‘s Rap“ You can also hear Sweet Leaf‘s riff at the end of RHCP “give it away“ ! They did it as a tribute to Black Sabbath.
Glory Box was originally Portishead. John Martyn did his version of Glory Box three years later. If you said what Judson is playing isn't Portishead, it's Isaac Hayes that would be more accurate. Juet a sayin.
This is literally why I love being a part of this channel so much! People sharing info and finding the fact of the matter with no ego getting in the way. Thank ya’ll for demonstrating how true and virtuous human interaction should be. PLUS, not only have I learned something I didnt previously know, I can now go to Hays and Martyn to hear music Ive not heard before. This is awesome. Thank yous humans for being some of the best examples of said species!
If you want to hear what a Billy Corgan / Tony Iommi mash-up would sound like, then I suggest you react to "Black Oblivion" from Tony's 2000 solo album, which was co-written by, and features the afore-mentioned Mr. Corgan on vocals.

"Symptoms of the Universe" is definitely another Sabbath song to check out.
This is so much the start of Doom and the Candlemass! Otherwise The Obsessed from The Church within... dont remember the titles but the music. Street... something was one... Wino is amazing!!! And a great black sabbath continuing of music.
An elegant smooth piano intro of Portishead's classic song and then reacting to a Black Sabbath's classic song.
That's why I like this channel.
What a great rendition of Glory Box. All that jazzy groove that underlies it really comes out on the piano.
Richard. You'll love em i feel!!
Portishead fucking rules Richard!

A great song indeed That cough at the start of the song is actually a recording of Toni Iomi after hitting a bong in the studio Bill Ward's drumming is reaching Bonham levels of blugening ✌️🧐🤘
Without Black Sabbath...there is no heavy metal.
More Sabbath!!
Love Portishead. They are awesome.
Black Sabbath just happens to be the greatest band of all time, no wonder Judson appreciates it! Please react to MY favorite Black Sabbath song of all time, Sabra Cadabra.
Absolute Mastery at all levels. Judson won't know what to do with himself! 😂

This is one of your best episodes. I loved it. Please react to more Sabbath songs. 🙏
Portishead is bloody great!
Oh boy oh boy. That's truly pioneer work for the rock and heavy metal. Plus it's true that this track is the milestone for the Stoner music.
Spiral Architect from the album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath might be right up your street. Regards from England.
Now we need a video of Richard reacting to Portishead!
Falling Of The Edge Of The World, Letters From Earth and After All (The Dead) are other great Black Sabbath songs. Dio on vocals
They don’t know nothing about that
Doom metal is addictive!

You should do Spiral Architect or National Acrobat by Sabbath
You should listen to Jazz Sabbath , a groupies doinh jazzversions of Black Sabbath sängs, including this one. Great stuff
Yes, or Brown Sabbath doing more of a Soul inspired take on Sabbath. Also good
The term was common in 1971. It smells sweet when smoked.

Alright, alright, alright 👌🏼
Thank you
Alright alright alright
Sweetleaf
Hey guys, oh the sweet leaf! Not for me anymore but great song and reaction guys!
zeppelin and tangerine, tangerine dream marijuana, it SMELLS DAMN NICE, definitely worth doing a song about.
I wonder if Judson is familiar with Beth Gibbons' performance of the vocals in Gorecki's Symphony No. 3?
Other doom classics: CATHEDRAL - "Hopkins (The Witchfinder General), TROUBLE - "At the End of My Daze" and WITCHFINDER GENERAL - "Free Country".
The late Jessie Stewart had a love song to beer called cold beer
Black Sabbath!! Nuff said. Y’all should check out the band Jazz Sabbath. They do jazz covers of sabbath songs.
ahha ahha haaaaaaaaa brilliant track
I’m going to now keep commenting this: Silverchair’s “Emotion Sickness” from their 1999 album called Neon Ballroom. I think Judson would really enjoy the intricacies of what’s happening throughout.

Would like to have your impression of King Crimson's Happy Family, off their Lizard album.
I thought that the piano intro was Beautiful by Cristina Aguilera 😂 I miss
My favorite BS song is Fairys Wear Boots 🤟
And you've gotta believe me
the piano reminded me of megadeth - This was my life.
You know what goes well with cheese? Archspire please! 😎
Solitude Aeturnus - Into the Depths of Sorrow
I recommend (if it matters) Fairies wear boots
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
What was your piano music at the beginning???
