Hello and what a good video. I haven't camped out in a hammock yet but planning to do so very soon. Really enjoyed watching and subbed you. Thanks Steve.
Hi Steve, thanks so much mate. Really means a lot... especially saying so on this video! You really should try the hammocks, once you crack it you can have such a great nights sleep Thanks again mate Ash🏕
That looked like fun! Very peaceful. I bought that same pillow a couple of months ago, I used it once before lockdown. I forget if I liked it or not. I suspect it wasn’t quite high enough. Lots of thumbs down on this. Which is interesting. Seems there are still polarised opinions on camping, and as usual everyone thinks they know best. None of which will do this video any harm. Good for you 😉
Hi ya Dan, thanks mate. It’s a funny one this, lots of down thumbs yet all positive comments 🤔 My thoughts now are if it’s local, stealthy and I’m alone, it’s fine, if not I’ll find a little stream and take a fishing rod next time to keep people happy! 😂 The pillow seems great, more for ground dwelling I think as I always lose them in the hammock! 😂 Thanks so much for watching and commenting mate, All the best Ash

I enjoyed your video, thanks. I use a Frontline hammock (same length as the Travel) and would recommend threading a dogbone about 300mm long through the hammock at each end. You can then link them together with a ridge line which gives you a consistent hang and something to hang the net from. Everything fits under a 3 metre tarp and you don't have any bits of shock cord out in the rain, the only things getting wet are your whoopies. ATB
Cheers to sunrise. I've got that Thermarest pad. Never thought of putting it into a hammock. I'm scared my back will hurt the next day if I sleep in a hammock. Thanks for sharing, loved the adventure.

I've only been camping about 4 times so far this year. I just got a Warbonnet Ridgerunner and did a stealth hang to try it out. I'm going camping tomorrow to get everything sorted out and see if I can sleep better in it. I've been hammocking for about 5 years and got to feel like I was sleeping in a bag. I did sleep very well in my gathered end hammock last week though. Just wanted to see if the bridge hammock will be more comfortable than my gathered end hammocks.
@@AshOutdoorsUK Slept the warbonnet ridgerunner last night. There is a lot about the ridgerunner that I liked. The flat lay was great and the extra compartments was nice. It took me awhile to get used to it. It seemed like it was a little taught. Like sleeping on a regular cot. I couldn't get a very good sleep until about 2 am when I got up to pee. I got my inflatable pillow out and that made all the difference in the world. I fail to sleep an before I knew it, it was 5.30. lesson learned. I think I will get an air pad for next time. I really liked not having to use my body as a spreader bar like on the gathered end hammocks that I'm used to. My warbonnet is a single layer with 1.6 denier material. I think it would be more comfortable with an air mattress.

Ear plugs and eye covers are great items to bring :) You brits and your half-thetime, gets me every time! When we say half four, its 03:30 not 04:30. Thanks for taking us along!
Lol, we have some friends in Australia who always took the piss out of us for that! Half 4 😂 must be a Brit thing 😆 Yep, always have ear plugs, could still hear it, must have been pretty close to the setup. Thanks for watching, all the best Ash 🏕
My mrs is an Aussie and until now I didn’t realise this wasn’t a thing in the rest of the Anglo-sphere. I’ve just asked her about this and she says they would say “quarter past” but never “half past.” Weird.
Yaessmate! A proper, sensible, responsible overnight wild camp video at last. Trust Ash to do it properly - on foot, local, no driving to beauty spots, swift and low key. This chimes with the sort of camp I enjoy (and would have been doing myself but for a nasty badgered knee these last few weeks) for a few reasons. 1) I've just bought a DD Superlight setup, with the action pack too, although my bugnet doesn't have poles, it just sort of cocoons the hammock on a ridgeline. Which version is yours Ash? 2) The woodland looks uncannily like a permission I use, where there are nettles galore and the trees all seem to be chocked by creepers, to the extent where their branches are all stunted like in your vid. I don't know enough about trees to know what's going on there! But it's so uncanny I had to remind myself you didn't live up here too 😁. Anyway, the joy on your face is genuine, as was mine at watching. Welcome back my friend! Rich.
Mate what a fantastic comment! I really appreciate your kind words 😊 the joy I felt was unreal mate, literally does feel like a lifetime since I last got out! The hammock is the new superlight frontline from dd, I also have the one you’re talking about with the separate bug net, that’s a great little hammock! And yes, loads of stingers but also a load of jack by the hedge so not too many stings😅 I really enjoyed this one, and glad you enjoyed watching it! Hope you manage to get the knee healed up so you can get out! All the best Rich, catch up soon 😊 Ash🏕
I'm pretty stunned that 7 people have disliked the vid already actually mate - what possible beef can they have? Some people are so odd... I wonder if they give a thumbs down to all the vids of day hikes in the busy Peaks and Lakes and Shropshire Hills that have been cropping up - in my opinion a much riskier and less responsible choice than yours. Anyway, the way bigger thumbs up count shows that most folk can put things in context!
Excellent video mate and a lovely spot too 😉 Glad you enjoyed it and the beers. I've had the nitro stout before and it's lovely. We'll have to do a collaboration soon 🙂
Thanks buddy, and thanks for letting me share your spot! 🙌🏻 It was really nice that stout, don’t think I’d want more than two mind you 😅 For sure a collab to come! Thanks again Ed, have a great week mate 😀
No probs at all pal, would really appreciate it if you gave my channel a look, unfortunately I launched just as cv19 hit and we got locked down, so used this time to get used to making videos, some reviews on there and some hammock hangs by my local river, got big plans and some cool places to show everyone once I can get out propper ⛺⛺⛺👌
Awesome vid bud, I'm so glad to see you out again. I've had a couple of those brewy D's but not the stout. Where did you find her? The just for men is on the post! All the best fuzzy felt. 😘 RBO

Great vid 👌 just bought a hammock for camping, but haven’t got an under quilt as they are more spenny than the hammock! Do you think I need one? I’m in the UK.
Scott hi mate, thanks so much. This time of year and up to I’d say August you’d probably be ok with just a mat like I’m using here, any other time of the year I’d 100% recommend an under blanket! Your back can get really cold if it’s windy! Hope this helps mate Thanks again for watching Ash 🏕
Nice one! Glad you're able to get out n about again. The frontline hammock goes alright huh 👍🏻, same as we use. We're off for a long awaited week long beach camp next week, tenting, can't wait.
Hey Kristie! Thanks so much for watching! Yes, the frontlines are wicked hammocks, this is my 2nd now as my old one seems to be a popular feature now in the garden with the wife and kids 😁 Enjoy your trip! Look forward to seeing some photos on Instagram 😁 Ash 🏕
Love these camps man. Just makes me more eager to get out next week. Screw the thumbs down, its probs cause of everything going on eh. Lets get a date in the diary!
Lol, for sure mate! Apparently it got shared on some camping forum (not by myself) and it all kicked off because of it 😂😂 then the link got pulled! Little trouble maker aren’t I!!?? 😬 Yes for sure mate! This year will be over before we know it! 😂😂

Lol, not often mate... I can only think of around 4/5 good nights sleep camping 😂 and agreed, all food tastes better cooked on a fire! Thanks for watching, really appreciate it 😊 Ash 🏕
Pretty perfect I'd say Ash - not to warm and when the woodland is wet it can be magical. Now, I didn't know we could wild camp. What's the deal on it right now? I'm not sure. Any way, good of your mate to let you in. Needs respect that. I'll check him out. Mark
Thanks so much mark, the conditions were perfect for a wild camp, like you say not too warm and that with the rain kept most of the bugs away for the evening! It’s still a sketchy area, in my eyes it not legal anyway, if fishermen are allowed to sit next to a lake and camp over night why can’t us responsible campers do the same? Thanks again mark, much appreciated Stay safe Ash 🏕
Lol I forgot by the morning... it was ok... kept slipping as they all seem to in a hammock! Thanks for watching mate... I’ll try get the pillow review sorted in the next one Ash 🏕

To be perfectly honest I don’t know! 😆 I suppose it’s just laziness as I know it will be better for the longevity of the tarp that way... maybe I’ll start using them from now on! 👍🏼
Thanks for watching
Stay safe
Ash
Great video ash 👍
Thank you mate, much appreciated! Hope all is well with you

Great video mate .it's good to be back out .I did a summit camp last Friday and definitely got the head showered . nothing beats listening to the rain when you camp .well done 👍
Thank you mate, I love the sound of rain on a tarp or tent... only when I’m dry mind you 😂thanks for watching mate, stay safe
Ash
@@AshOutdoorsUK definitely mate even better if the tents dry in the morning haha
What did you think of the pillow? I have the older version and am in the market for one. Cheers
To be honest I’m not sure why I use a pillow in the hammock, they always slip out from under me 😂 I’ll be testing it properly this weekend so I’ll let you know then! 😁
Ash 🏕
Great location mate I'm gunna have to get a bushbox lol
Thanks buddy! You should get one for sure... I love it!
Thanks for watching Simon

Who gets up at half 4 in the morning. Crazy man! Great vid bud, awesome to see people starting to get back out again. See you next time.
😂 I do, and it seems deer do to! 😆 I’m usually up early camping anyway, once I’m awake that’s usually it for me!
Thanks so much for watching mate, stay safe,
Ash 🏕
Ear plugs and eye covers are great items to bring :) You brits and your half-thetime, gets me every time! When we say half four, its 03:30 not 04:30. Thanks for taking us along!
Lol, we have some friends in Australia who always took the piss out of us for that! Half 4 😂 must be a Brit thing 😆
Yep, always have ear plugs, could still hear it, must have been pretty close to the setup.
Thanks for watching, all the best
Ash 🏕
My mrs is an Aussie and until now I didn’t realise this wasn’t a thing in the rest of the Anglo-sphere. I’ve just asked her about this and she says they would say “quarter past” but never “half past.” Weird.
The Prepared Norseman, when you realise “half four” is a shortening of “half past four” it makes a bit more sense.
And yes, loads of stingers but also a load of jack by the hedge so not too many stings😅
I really enjoyed this one, and glad you enjoyed watching it! Hope you manage to get the knee healed up so you can get out!
All the best Rich, catch up soon 😊
Ash🏕
I'm pretty stunned that 7 people have disliked the vid already actually mate - what possible beef can they have? Some people are so odd... I wonder if they give a thumbs down to all the vids of day hikes in the busy Peaks and Lakes and Shropshire Hills that have been cropping up - in my opinion a much riskier and less responsible choice than yours. Anyway, the way bigger thumbs up count shows that most folk can put things in context!
Lol, thanks Rich, up to 12 now 😂 however have gained another 30 subs all good! 😊 have a great week buddy
Ash
Excellent video mate and a lovely spot too 😉
Glad you enjoyed it and the beers. I've had the nitro stout before and it's lovely.
We'll have to do a collaboration soon 🙂
Thanks buddy, and thanks for letting me share your spot! 🙌🏻
It was really nice that stout, don’t think I’d want more than two mind you 😅
For sure a collab to come! Thanks again Ed, have a great week mate 😀
Where and what make is your folding saw, looks good one !
Hi Ian, it’s a silky saw, fantastic bits of kit! This one is the Acel 21 model, they have a lot of verity
Hope this helps
Ash
Great vid pal, just gave you a sub 👌
Thanks so much mate, really appreciate it buddy 🙌🏻🙏🏼🏕
Ash
No probs at all pal, would really appreciate it if you gave my channel a look, unfortunately I launched just as cv19 hit and we got locked down, so used this time to get used to making videos, some reviews on there and some hammock hangs by my local river, got big plans and some cool places to show everyone once I can get out propper ⛺⛺⛺👌
Awesome buddy, I’ll head on over shortly. Just at work at the moment 👍🏼🏕
Awesome vid bud, I'm so glad to see you out again. I've had a couple of those brewy D's but not the stout. Where did you find her? The just for men is on the post! All the best fuzzy felt. 😘 RBO
😂😂 it was the light making it look greyer 😉 got the beers from Tesco mate, had a right little selection 🙌🏻
Thanks for watching mate, catch up soon

I found these in my local Tescos the other day: the Evil Twin one! Can't beat a Brew Dog!
Love those sausage panini, sounds like muntjac deer - been woken by those before went on for about an hour😬. Cheers for sharing
Yeah noisy little buggers aren’t they! 😂😂 I do love a bacon and sausage panini,
Thanks so much for watching mate
Ash🏕
Good one Ash. Nice to see you back camping mate.
Thanks buddy! Felt amazing being out... long overdue 😁🏕🙌🏻
I love the sound of rain on a tarp / tent. Another good video Ash. Really keen to know what that plate is you use?
Hey mate! It’s such a soothing sound isn’t it! The plate is just a cheap plastic camping one, I think from go outdoors?
Thanks for watching Paul
Ash
Great vid 👌 just bought a hammock for camping, but haven’t got an under quilt as they are more spenny than the hammock! Do you think I need one? I’m in the UK.
Scott hi mate, thanks so much. This time of year and up to I’d say August you’d probably be ok with just a mat like I’m using here, any other time of the year I’d 100% recommend an under blanket! Your back can get really cold if it’s windy! Hope this helps mate
Thanks again for watching
Ash 🏕
Nice one! Glad you're able to get out n about again. The frontline hammock goes alright huh 👍🏻, same as we use. We're off for a long awaited week long beach camp next week, tenting, can't wait.
Hey Kristie! Thanks so much for watching! Yes, the frontlines are wicked hammocks, this is my 2nd now as my old one seems to be a popular feature now in the garden with the wife and kids 😁
Enjoy your trip! Look forward to seeing some photos on Instagram 😁
Ash 🏕
Love these camps man. Just makes me more eager to get out next week. Screw the thumbs down, its probs cause of everything going on eh. Lets get a date in the diary!
Lol, for sure mate! Apparently it got shared on some camping forum (not by myself) and it all kicked off because of it 😂😂 then the link got pulled! Little trouble maker aren’t I!!?? 😬
Yes for sure mate! This year will be over before we know it! 😂😂
@@AshOutdoorsUK Gonna call you Dom Cummings from now on :P

Thanks pal, great to be back out!
Hope all is well with you.
Ash 🏕
where did you get the vocation pint tins?!?!?!?
Hey mate, they were from Tesco’s, always a bit hit and miss as to what they have!
Thanks for watching mate
Ash
Jesus you got some popular feedback on this. Should've took a fishing rod bud. Lol. I'm trying the helium pillow hopefully that will work well.
Lol, cheers mate. Yep, actually going on an over night fishing trip next week, let’s see if I get as many thumbs down for that one 😂 thanks for watching mate!
Ash
@@AshOutdoorsUK and there is no way you got straight up at 4.30 and it was that light. Let me know when you go fishing wouldn't mind coming to see.
Sure did, I’m always up at 5 in the week anyway so it wasn’t that bad! I’m going to meet a mate on the Jurassic coast next week! Can’t wait! Haven’t sea fished in bloody ages!! 👍🏼
What camera do you use mate? Thinking of getting one for hiking.
Hi mate, I use the cannon G7X mark 2
Hope this helps mate
Ash
Wasn’t time to dig out the bushcraft shorts yet then😂👍🏼 great to see you back out

It’s well sweet that beer, don’t want many of them! 😂 yeah, you should mate!

Ash
Did you put the net on the tarp separately or does it come like that? Thanks for taking us with you. I for one cant wait till I can get out camping again but we are still in lockdown in Scotland. Peace and Love brother.
Thank you so much for watching, yes it comes attached to the hammock! Really good hammocks made by DD hammocks
Stay safe

Is this England Ash?
Yes it is 😊
Anyone tell me what hammock this is please
Its a DD frontline hammock mate
Well made and inspiring video Ash. Love the camera work in this one. Nice setup, location and cook system too. Rain on the shelter too - bonus!! A q u a l i t y vid! ATB sir - Ben

@@AshOutdoorsUK 😁
I dont understand. What is so controversial about this upload?. Its a man camping. Whats the issue?.
Thanks for the support buddy! 🙌🏻 would it have made a difference if I was next to a lake with a rod I wonder??
Thanks for watching

Nice one Ash , sausage butties always taste better on a camp . Does anyone sleep well whilst camping lol atb Dave
Lol, not often mate... I can only think of around 4/5 good nights sleep camping 😂 and agreed, all food tastes better cooked on a fire!
Thanks for watching, really appreciate it 😊
Ash 🏕
Thanks again mark, much appreciated
Stay safe
Ash 🏕
@@AshOutdoorsUK A real pleasure Ash. I think I may just say f..k it. I need the cool of the forest like you here. Take care.
My thoughts exactly mate, if you’re a responsible wild camper like we, are I don’t see the problem 😁
Have a good weekend mark ✌🏼🙏🏼
@@AshOutdoorsUK Without doubt the best social distancing their is Ash. Better than the bloody beaches right now. A mellow weekend.
@@WyeExplorer If anyone can do it responsibly Mark, it's you. Do it Sir!.
Take it the pillow was shite then! No Mornin review.
Lol I forgot by the morning... it was ok... kept slipping as they all seem to in a hammock! Thanks for watching mate... I’ll try get the pillow review sorted in the next one
Ash 🏕
Ash
I have a Decathlon Helium Inflatable Pillow. That’s good but not as big as your Vango.
Michael I’ve seen a lot of people use those, is love to take a couple of pillows from home but think they’d be a little bulky 😂👍🏼
Way too many vines killing trees
Sure is, needs some management for sure
Thanks for watching mate

You havent read the papers lately?😂
