Before watching this, I had my eyes set on a FourWheelCamper Hawk or a hard side Scout Yoho. Everything changes for me with this RoverKing. Thanks for sharing.
One of the more thought out units in its class. You pay a few bucks more but the few extra thousand dollars cdn is worth the hassle of doing it yourself or paying 5-6k for goosegear storage. The seats and table are a deal maker and not being a wedge style is also a deal maker. Be curious on strut capacity if for say snow accumulations. Windows with shades is excellent and the fact it fits the Gladiator without much issue is great. This is a serious contender as I look into a canopy camper to replace my overland trailer possibly next year. Well done Rover King! This would be a fantastic unit for our Dempster trip summer 2023
Hey BetweenThePines, This unit impressed me so much at the OverlandNTH Spring Gathering 2022, I had to do a special video on it. I'm glad you found the information in the video helpful. This Gladiator had air bags in the rear suspension, and that's it. The rest was stock. Cheers.
Hey Johnny, An awning on a pick up truck slide in bed camper would definitely be nice. This camper is still pretty new, I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with some type of bracket to mount an awning. Also, that being said, you might also have found the jack system for removal very interesting, as it could be implemented on other Jeep Gladiator bed enclosures. Cheers
Hey 4wardventures, Thinking of future upgrades, I thought the magnetic mount for the shower head was a great idea. It can work on your JK, but those of us with JLs have aluminum bodies. Cheers.
Hey scottthejeepguy7499, Yes, it really is pretty cool. I'd love to try and see what it's like camping in one of these. It seems to be very roomy. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Roverking just released the new Mid and Full size 5' & 6' campers. went to a wedge. Hopefully a full pop up will come soon! Looks like you have some new videos to make! :)
Yes, I’m aware of that. I’m looking forward to having a look at them, and possibly making a video or two about those ones. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers.
Hello Max, In a few weeks, we will be introducing our new model campers. Our Mid-Size Short Bed 5’+ truck campers fit perfectly in Colorado and Canyon. 😊👍
I believe it’s because most slide ins with cabinetry, larger holding tanks, etc weigh over 1200 lbs, even the pop top versions. With this weight 700 lbs this wouldn’t be a problem
If it can be lifted easily like that with the jacks... I didn't see anything in the video about it being bolted down?? that doesn't seem very safe ? I know it's heavy but still
Hey BMacW650, Thanks for providing the additional info. I believe the folks here in Canada may be the same people/company from the original Capra camper. Cheers.
Hey BMacW650, Thank you for the feedback on the channel. It is very much appreciated. You're getting one? That is so awesome!!! If you have time, please feel free to contact me at CheaperJeeperTV@gmail.com. Cheers Dino
Look nice, but the weights of the 3 versions are conveniently absent from the specs. Typically the slide in campers are quite a bit heavier than the other canopy campers on the market without the floor structure that rests on the pickup truck bed.
Hey Craig, I thought the weights were posted. I’m sure if you message them that they would let you know. I agree that the canopy campers are typically lighter than the slide in ones for sure. I believe the canopy type campers may be a little more work to remove however. But I’m sure there are work arounds to that. Thanks for watching. Cheers
@@CheaperJeeperTV I took another look at their site and found the weight in a graphic, not in the spec list table. It is 250-300lbs heavier than a canopy camper. Very true about the difficulty taking canopy campers on & off.
Hey Bob, From their website, it appears the central Canadian office is in Saskatchewan, but I also know they have a representative in Toronto. You can always reach out to them and ask for support for your area. Cheers
The gladiator bed is narrow enough, then they taper the front of the bed?!?!? Thats what nakes this one a no go for me. Great for a single person, I guess, but thats about it.
When people sleep in the bed, the feet go to where the tapered part is. It doesn’t seem to be that much of a constriction, and it helps with fuel efficiency. And when you’re doing long trips every bit counts. Cheers.

I'm pretty sure they've got wall-stiffener/canvas stretcher pieces that ensure it can handle a snow load on top.
Glad I found your channel. Fun, simple, unpretentious. Cheers.

Its an ok set up, but where do you hang up the awning? That would be the deal breaker for me.

@@CheaperJeeperTV I did love the jack system. I wonder if I could somehow incorporate that to my RSI cap.

what's the height floor to bottom with the camper in the gladiator?
i want to know if the freedom panels can still be removed? i hate the campers that eliminate this possibilty.
I didn’t actually do that when I reviewed it, but from the image at 1:08 into the video, it sure seems like the camper isn’t in the way.

So, they don’t tie down? They just sit in the box and that’s it? Doesn’t seem safe or legal
Of course it ties down. I didn’t explain that well enough. I’m afraid. Cheers.
That Roverking looks great!
Hey Randy,
Yes, I agree. I was dreaming of using it to go camping in that camper for sure.

Could a long awning bracket be used where the jacks mount?

Maybe a bracket could be used to make it higher if desired.

Not sure why right in your Jeep Gladiator (2023) it states no slide in campers.
It says that in the manual?
