Very nicely done intro to Sibelius - and you are very easy to listen to. Congrats on winning the competition - hopefully the performance will happen soon.
Thank you for refreshing me a little. I worked and composed with Sibelius 10 years ago and this run through has helped tremendously to get back into the groove, I'll be back after I start working with the program. I'm sure questions will come up at some point. Excellent job!!!!
Dude I got a keystation Midi but I am not able to make it work. First, I can‘t hear the metronome / click. Presumably because it might be on the wrong channel (it is set on channel 12 right now). But how do I switch the channel? Second, is it true that I can only record the notes that are pre set? So, let‘s say if I want to record quarters and eights in the same go, would not be possible? Thanks so much for your help… the internet couldn‘t help me.
Hello. Ok? So... One question, please. Which VST libraries does Sibelius support? Does Sibelius allow for more than one or several different VST libraries in a single score? E.g. Noteperformer or Vienna for Orchestra instruments, Kontakt for guitar with pedalboard effects, UVI world suite and JADE Ethnic Percussion for ethnic instruments. Is there a possibility to use them in the same edition at the same time? Awaiting return. Thank you very much for your attention. Success on the channel! tmj 👊👍👏🙂
Sorry for the late reply, but I don't use VSTs so I have no expertise in answering your question. Perhaps you could turn to the Avid Sibelius Power Users on Facebook since they are a community well-versed in all things Sibelius.
I'm pretty sure that was a default house style, but I now purchase all the new ones from Notation Central: www.notationcentral.com/product-category/fonts/music-fonts/ I just love the traditional publishing style from the past century and beyond and I want to replicate that old-fashioned feel to my scores.
Hi Carlos, I cannot unblock the Sibelius First. Could you tell me how to find the way to log in? I logged in on the Avid website, but I cannot install Avid Link in the Apple appstore, it's not there. What can I do?
I suggest reaching out to the Avid Sibelius Users Facebook Group. They can help you with just about anything related to things like this: facebook.com/groups/sibeliussoftwareforum
@@CarlosLalonde I download ed the free verion and i was not able to add notes. Is that the way it is? Meaning i have to buy it to be able to add notes ?
Drum notation is a different beast altogether so I didn't cover them in this beginner tutorial, but there are good tutorials on UA-cam, but I might make a follow up video explaining it too.
great video. Also love that you used Mahler 1 as the background music!!

Thank you for this! Finally I found a practical tutorial for what I am need to do. Looking forward to watching all of your videos!

Glad it was helpful!
Well done! Thanks!
Cool, thank you from far Chile.
Great video!!! keep working!!
Thanks this was really useful. Now that you have switched to dorico, could you do a similar in-depth tutorial for that?
Oooo good idea. I'm not as fluent as some pro-level Dorico users are, but I can sure try!
Note Performer is a giveaway for what it can do! 😎
Thank you for the tips. Do you know the Font Jazz score? Its a text used in a lot of Jazz lead sheets and scores. Thank you

Fantastic Tutorial, thanks a lot!!!! :)))

Thanks for the video...question...how to jump to a point in a long composition without having to zoom and search.
Many programs allow you to jump to a certain bar number which is very useful
Thank you, Legend!
Hey ! How do I add another page? Thanks
So clean! What "house style" did you use? Or did you purchase a template?

I love how both Sans and Papyrus have a font.
Papyrus is the best. 2nd Place, Comic Sans.

The amount of cybelius you used.?
How i can have just one line instead of 5. And add question mark on top of note? Thats for persian percussion. Tnx
Change the instrument to "Percussion with 1 Line". You can simply type control/command T to add text and drag it anywhere.
@@CarlosLalonde you are the best

Type "N" and click on the staff to properly input notes. The free version allows you to input them of course.
