Im new to CS but instantly knew i wanted more interesting backgrounds and your method looks so straight forward... Dare i say "i will be dyeing tonight"
I just used your method and it worked perfectly. I have to ask why vinegar? I used salt. But certainly not opposed to vinegar. Mine worked perfectly. I also dunked it quickly into tea to take off the brightness.

This is such a good video. After your last dyeing step, in your washing machine do you then use soap? If you don’t use soap, is there a vinegar smell to the fabric? I did my first dye job yesterday following another you tuber who put the fabric in the oven. I’m uncomfortable with that process and am wondering why it’s done. Also, some folks use salt. My grandmother always said Vinegar sets the color. She was a quilter. So I’m wondering about the salt method….🤷🏻♀️

I do not use soap and I do not notice a vinegar smell. I have also used salt and it works very well too, however if you don’t get the salt to dissolve completely it can create a grainy look on your Aida. I have never heard the oven thing. That makes me just as uncomfortable as the microwave.

Good question. I do not as I am just going to wet them before adding them to the dye regardless.
Do you have to close the jar for the dying to work?
I haven’t tried it with the jar open. I think closing it keeps the heat in so you may get better results with a closed lid.

Hi, two hand-sewing methods you can use are blanket stitch and whipstitch. I like blanket stitch the best because it is easy and secure and it looks nice, lol. There are loads of tutorials for these on UA-cam. Just a note - the tutorials often assume you are sewing two edges together, but these stitches work just fine along a single edge of fabric (ie where you would serge). The blanket stitch tutorial I learned from is "Overlocking by hand" and the channel is called sewberry. Sorry I don't know how to post the link. 🌺
