I'm going to have to look at that PDF Max app. I have only ever stitched with printed schemes, but recently bought some patterns in PDF...and my printer is kaput. So, I plan to use a very old school android tablet with some good life left for viewing the schemes and work that way. Although, it'll help to be able to mark the PDF up in an easy way.
It can be very messy and it can be wasted thread if you choose to jump. Avoiding large jumping can help. I’m sure someone has a method for a clean back with parking.
Hey im new to cross stitch ive only been doing it for the last 2 and a half weeks ive only so far have done 2 small 3 inch projects then moved to a 6 inch but had to give to my mom to work on because i messed up because i lost count so after that mess up i decided to get a little notebook i put the name of the project and the date started at the top then as i switch colours i will count the boxes with that specific colour write down the colour name and the amount of boxes with that colour then as i stitch i will put tally marks by the name and the number of stitches so far its been working great

I have heard good things about pattern keeper too, but it’s not available for IOS yet.
I know this is an old post but I'm wondering about carrying all
Of those floats? Is it okay for the back to be a little messy?
Do you worry about a messy back?
how does the back look like with the parking method? is there a lot of wasted floss?

That sounds like a great way to keep track!
Doing this method, does it leave any lines?
Sorry for the delay in my response. No I have not noticed any lines. My stitches are pretty even and I think that helps avoid that.
I tried this I couldn’t do it
