Lovely little video Andrew, with some great photos. Hope you got to visit the delightful Topsham whilst on the Exmouth branch.

Many thanks Jim, sadly not, we didn't get to Topsham, maybe next time. The day was spent around Exmouth and visiting the National Trust house A La Ronde

Amazing video Andrew, you've inspired me to take up railway photography. It's so relaxing and there's no other feeling where you feel so free except when with trains! 😊😊

Thanks Andrew, great video as always. Too bad about those cancelations, but better safe than sorry with infrastructure damage. There was one rail bridge strike here in the US, i think it was down south, where the bridge collapsed under a subsequent train.

Many thanks, safety first, I found out later is was a boat that hit the central Pilar of the Royal Albert Bridge in the early morning, but it wasn't reported until lunchtime. The UK does suffer many bridge strikes, usually trucks on low bridges.

Many thanks Stuart, with this one I genuinely didn’t know what to expect, or even if any shots were available, if honest I could’ve spent the evening at Exton, a smashing location.

Oh, I see, welcome to my patch Andrew! Very unexpected but I hope you’re enjoying your visit to the distant lands of the West Country. Interesting video as always and typical that you’ve shot trains on a line I rarely look at! Maybe I should look closer to home! Shame about the mainline being closed. Another time, the RA bridge really is spectacular. By the way, the River Clyst is pronounced “Klist”😉

Many thanks for the pronunciation Steve, I've no idea with these local pronunciations really. I would have loved to do more on the Exmouth branch but time was against us. It looked incredibly picturesque as the tide came in at sunset.

Real shame about the original video. Think it was a boat hitting a bridge if I remember seeing that tweet. Very interesting Bridge over the river Clyst. Great video

Cheers Simon, it was a boat, from what I’ve now seen it was actually a boat which hit the middle tower of the Royal Albert Bridge early in the morning, but wasn’t reported until lunchtime, there was a team of Network Rail people around the bottom of the bridge whilst I was there.

Many thanks Peter. Sadly, it was a strike day going into Cornwall and then no trains when returning, another day perhaps!

Clever idea Andrew to take shots from that line as the other line across the river is photographed/filmed regularly

Indeed Ben, I know the trains aren't as interesting as on the main line, but still it was worth an exploration.

Thank you, the local pronunciations are a nightmare, in my local Yorkshire there's some real gems of pronunciation.
