@@Gort-Marvin0Martian- No he didn’t. I’ve been shooting competitions since 2010, and it’s a common method of forcefully ejecting a magazine from a gun.
So, a few things: The scene with the cop - The cops know who Wick is. They know what he did (or used to do), hence "Uhh...you workin' again?" They know that he's retired, so if there's dead bodies in his house wearing ski masks, they had it coming. And, most importantly, they know there isn't a damn thing they could do about it anyway, so unless he starts going after innocents, why put themselves in his crosshairs? The gold coins - You nailed it. Every coin represents a favor in the underworld, no matter how big or small. It's not about how much the gold is worth. The scene in the Red Circle - Notice how Wick, who is as you put it "SUCH a good shot", stared daggers at him while he casually executed one of his bodyguards, and then fired multiple shots at Iosef and missed? Yeah, that was DELIBERATE. He doesn't just want Iosef dead, he wants him terrified, he wants him running for his life, he wants to completely kill all of the hope he has inside him (just like Iosef did to John), and then once he's taken everything from him, he has no further use for him, not even to let him finish his last words. If he just wanted him dead, he had ample opportunities. It's personal. The fight with Vggo - The knife wound is 100% fatal. The subclavian artery runs through there. Severing that would cause someone to bleed out within seconds to minutes, depending on how badly it got hit. And unless you have immediate medical attention on site when it happens, there's not much you can do to prevent it. The dog at the end of the movie - Not only is that Keanu Reeves' actual dog, if you look very closely for the instant that it's visible, the paperwork indicates that the dog is scheduled for euthanasia. So in a movie all about John tearing a swath through everyone who wronged him, the movie ends with him SAVING a life.

Something that I did not realize until it was explained later is that when John asks Francis how much weight he had lost, it was a form of code where Francis was telling him in the number of kilos lost how may men he was facing inside Red Circle. Francis repaid John's kindness with valuable intel.

One of the things I missed was jimmy immediately let John know he wasn’t going to do anything by taking his hat off. It’s a sign as if he’s not a cop in that moment.
The whole dynamic between John, Vigo and his son was well played. Vigo, as the local boss was put in a very bad position when his son antagonized John. If Vigo had offered John restitution of any sort at the beginning, he would look weak and scared of John (which he was). As a matter of face, he had to protect his son and send a team after John. When John burned his stash he was sending the message that this was personal. If he had taken any of the money or gold, it would have muddled the message and made it seem that he could be bought off his vengeance. And when Vigo captured John, he couldn't just shoot him in the parking lot, because again, that would have made it look like he was scared of him. And that would weaken his image in front of his men, and those he is extorting. So he had to capture him, torture him and kill him in the manner of a prisoner. At the end, when John had the shotgun pointed at his face, he gave up his son, because it was Vigo or him. At this point, he had made a reasonable effort to protect his son and business and few would fault him for turning him over at that point. His protection of his son was far more about protecting his image and reputation than protecting his son. And his killing Marcus was another matter of face and pride. If he let Marcus get away with betraying him, he looks weak...not to mention Vigo is a vindictive bastard.
I'm not sure I agree. I think he realized the gravity of the situation, but I think he felt there would be a way to work it out, at least in the beginning.

it may not be bullet resistant. windshields are hard enough to deflect bullets. especially with a slower moving bullet like a 9mm. so he could have had good aim but when the bullets hit the windshield it may have deflected the bullet just enough to miss him
Not sure what version you guys watched but the version in movie theaters and the versions I've watched on the streaming services have the captions for the Russian lines. And not like closed captioning....they were graphics worked into the movie. And that shotgun is the Keltec KSG. In addition to being a bullpup design (allowing it to be fairly short with a full length barrel), it also has two magazine tubes allowing it to hold twice the number of shotgun shells as "regular" shotguns.
Came here to mention the captions. If they have a moment, they should try to find a proper version of it. The graphics in these movies for the subtitles were pretty important context.
Fun fact: Marcus (William Dafoe) asked Vigo if the contract is exclusive to know what he should do. When he found out it wasn't he decided to take it but to protect John
John guided the knife at the end into his already stitched wound. So technically (by movie logic), John doesn't get a new injury, he just reopened his old wound.

@@JessAndTess he also played Super Shredder in TMNT 2 Secret Of The Ooze and he played a Russian hitman in the movie the Punisher the one with John Travolta as a mob boss
When Jimmy took off his hat, he was basically telling John that he was standing down. I had a '69 mustang but it only has a 200 Cu In engine. The Bullet Proof vests work pretty good on handgun rounds, but sharp objects go through most of them. You need one which is rated for both. "What is that, Gun?", it is a 12 ga shotgun. As they say Heavy Penalties for breaking the rules. The handguns that John was using are over $2,000 a piece. Keanu went to one of the top tactical ranges to practice for the movie. There is a video of it.
The guns and gun training came from Taren Tachtical in California. Keanu trained in the 3 gun competition style. And did VERY well. Same with the driving. He trained with the driving stunt guys.
If you notice @ 12:37 when Vigo Toasts his son with a glass of vodka he did not drink his but instead set it down and poured himself a different vodka into a different glass. Russian tradition I'm told is that if you disagree or have a problem with that person, You still raise the glass but you don't drink it . A small detail but raises the Authenticity .
Me at 42 breaking bones every time I breathe it feels like. Then there's Keanu doing majority of his own stunts at 59 lol. He must've hurt bad after these movies.
The scene when Marcus say "No my good sir! FIGHTING......& FIGHTING especially the very last part so far I watched all parts but still first one is my personal favorite 🔥 Loved your reaction 👏
There are are a couple of major blood vessels in the shoulder, and being stabbed in that location has a decent probability of nicking at least one of them. Even if the knife stays in, you'll bleed out fast. Since Vigo's blood was probably already pretty thin from the copious amount of alcohol, and the fact that his heart was probably pumping like mad from the fight...in the rain...he'd have lost consciousness pretty quickly, and died shortly thereafter.
"That building" is the Beaver Building at 1 Wall Street Court. It is very similar in appearance to the Flatiron Building. So sometimes when you see "that building" it is the Beaver Building and sometimes it it the Flatiron. The easiest way to tell them apart is that the Flatiron has a much narrower front curve and has only one window on each floor on the curve whereas the Beaver Building has two side by side.
From my understanding Keanu trained stupidly hard in martial arts & firearms so he could do as many scenes as possible & still does competitive shooting!
Normally there are subtitles on screen for Russian, I think on streaming it's removed. (Not Ron Pearlman doorman). Shoulder wound into the artery, you bleed out in seconds.

The pitty at the end was scheduled to be euthanized because it's a dangerous breed. Jon said nope to that and gave it a second chance at life like he got.
hi gun nerd here, that gun you asked about is a Keltec KSG. a pump action 12 gage shotgun. most tube fed shotguns just have one magazine tube, the unique thing about the KSG is that it has 2 magazine tubes increasing the capacity to 14. it also uses a bullpup design witch basically means that the bullet goes off behind the trigger. this makes for a gun that is more compact that is easier to maneuver but with a full length barrel that keeps the velocity of the bullet higher making a rifle more accurate at further distances and shotguns will take more distance for the pellets to spread.
Need to check you CC(closed caption) settings because there are subtitles for the foreign language sections of the movie. You are supposed to know what theyre saying. I enjoyed wacthing your fun reactions
Keanu did weapon handling and hand to hand combat for over 4000 hours for this film.. that is dedication and one of the reasons why the john wick films are soo great. lol "so many bald dudes" when i worked nightclub security i used to shave my head.. no hair to pull.

On the captions.. you /are/ supposed to know. The original (and most other) releases have stylised in-scene captions for the other languages - Russian here, but others too later in the franchise. I think this is Peacock you're watching on? And that they've somehow managed to lose that style and context is a travesty.

@@JessAndTess he also played Super Shredder in TMNT 2 Secret Of The Ooze and he played a Russian hitman in the movie the Punisher the one with John Travolta as a mob boss
The amount of pink mist in this movie is just crazy! I never get used to it.
Yall should check out Keanus shooting training video
I've heard he's amazing.
I've always thought he might be covering up his body cam.
That shotgun he used is a Kel-tech KSG bullpup shotgun...absolutely awesome weapon esp for home defense.
Yeah, looks awesome!
I pissed off alot of people in Call of Duty with this shotgun lol. Those were the days 😂
@@E85BAITOh yeah...back in OG MW3 in 2011 and a very good alternative to the Spas.
The guns and gun training came from Taren Tachtical in California. Keanu trained in the 3 gun competition style. And did VERY well. Same with the driving. He trained with the driving stunt guys.
It shows!
So many small details in this movie!
Keanu trained with Taran Tactical, they have multiple videos of him tearing thru shooting drills. Great stuff
What a machine
Ok first time here, you two are adorbs, you chilled out around the three minute mark and got invested, good stuff so far.
Thanks!
They have a three part prequel show on peacock called the continental and it shows you how Winston got a hold of the hotel!
Can't wait to watch it!
The prequel is called The Continental on peacock
Me at 42 breaking bones every time I breathe it feels like. Then there's Keanu doing majority of his own stunts at 59 lol. He must've hurt bad after these movies.
fun fact - jim carey was interested in the role of john wick, what a movie that would have been
*Shoots like 10 dudes*
"SOMEBODY STOPPP ME"
He doesn't have the gumption nor the skillset. Would end up being a comedy which is...ridiculous
Hey, Bob Odenkirk was able to pull it off quite well, so that’s an idea I can entertain.
The scene when Marcus say "No my good sir! I'll go on my own" was just cold 🥶
I don't know whether you guys would give your reactions on other John Wick's parts but if you do I'm sure you would still say John Wick's first part was the best 🙌
Because in other parts it's just FIGHTING.... FIGHTING......& FIGHTING especially the very last part so far
I watched all parts but still first one is my personal favorite 🔥
Loved your reaction 👏
Appreciate it! We will be going through all of the John Wick's. We are uploading chapter 2 soon!
Looking forward to it ✨
There are are a couple of major blood vessels in the shoulder, and being stabbed in that location has a decent probability of nicking at least one of them.
Yeah, doesn't look like a fun time
All the questions you guys have mainly about the Continental/Hotel and the underground world yall can find these answers in the next 3 movies.
Awesome! That stuff was so intriguing
Wick's back tat translates to "fortune favors the bold*
From my understanding Keanu trained stupidly hard in martial arts & firearms so he could do as many scenes as possible & still does competitive shooting!
It paid off!
Normally there are subtitles on screen for Russian, I think on streaming it's removed. (Not Ron Pearlman doorman).
Shoulder wound into the artery, you bleed out in seconds.
That bit @ 45:44-45:49 ish
It’s just absolutely freaking brilliant and whoever thought of that little bit right there is a goddamn genius! Idk why but it never ceases to put a smile on my face every damn time I see it ffs!? 😅 just beautiful 😉👌
So good
As a career criminal, I love one line..."they'll run"
"Everyone on the bus looks like that." 🤣
😂
There is a show about the continental on peacock
Thanos: Where is the soul stone?!?
Strange: (holds up a dog) It's inside this dog.
Thanos: (kills dog) Ha! That was your plan?
Strange: Wait for it.....
John Wick: Hey, have you guys seen my new dog?
🤣
There's a mini series on peacock about the hotel. The continental
Yep! going to check it out once we get through the movies!
@jessandtess Make sure you guys watch THE CONTINENTAL after watching the 4 films. It's the prequel to the films.
The pitty at the end was scheduled to be euthanized because it's a dangerous breed. Jon said nope to that and gave it a second chance at life like he got.
Makes sense. John seems like he is always ready to help.
hi gun nerd here, that gun you asked about is a Keltec KSG. a pump action 12 gage shotgun. most tube fed shotguns just have one magazine tube, the unique thing about the KSG is that it has 2 magazine tubes increasing the capacity to 14. it also uses a bullpup design witch basically means that the bullet goes off behind the trigger. this makes for a gun that is more compact that is easier to maneuver but with a full length barrel that keeps the velocity of the bullet higher making a rifle more accurate at further distances and shotguns will take more distance for the pellets to spread.
Very cool! Thank you!
Good reaction! The lady has more energy and emotional reactions. God bless you both!
Appreciate that! Tess really enjoyed the movie!
John Wick 2
I love that she exclaims "Its a dog" while I'm thinking wouldn't it be great if it was a bunny or a ferret. A slightly different movie.
Fun Fact: The lead security guy that John kept fighting was the lead Agent fighting Morpheus and even Neo in MATRIX RELOADED. Another Agent who fought and shot Trinity in MATRIX RELOADED is in this film, too. And the doctor was the Keymaker in MATRIX RELOADED.
Probably smart to work with people you've already know you got chemistry with, especially when doing a fight scene
@@JessAndTess Agreed. I produce indie horror films and tend to work with the same actors.
There3 is a series called the The Continental to watch too.
Oh and you can drown in as little as 5ml (one teaspoon) of water.
The Triangle building is "The Continental Hotel". I believe it is a heritage building.
This is one of the few cases where the sequels are better.
Really!? Now we're even more excited. That's a high bar.
There actually is a limited mini series called ''The continental'' that is about the hotel, set in the 1970s that is in the john wick universe.
What is that gun? KEL-TEC KSG 12 gauge shotgun...
Looks awesome!
I love how john play by the books. He never kills an innocent man. Not even use his skills and legacy to advantage
I don't know if you noticed but the chart on the dog crate said "To Be Destroyed" so he saved the dogs life.
There are youtube vids of Keanu going through gun training - check them out.
I've heard he's amazing.
On the captions.. you /are/ supposed to know. The original (and most other) releases have stylised in-scene captions for the other languages - Russian here, but others too later in the franchise. I think this is Peacock you're watching on? And that they've somehow managed to lose that style and context is a travesty.
Yeah it was Peacock. And since they weren't there, we assumed that was how it was supposed to be.
@@JessAndTess yah that's fair. I don't know who Peacock upset, or why, but it's a very odd move to remove actual in-movie translations 😥
There's a series called The Continental about the guy that runs it. When he was younger.
New sub. Great movie/franchise. Love the react!
Also, Lance's role in The Wire is pretty epic.
Thanks for the sub! Tess is a huge fan of Lance from Fringe!
In case you didn't know: Avi a.k.a Tarasov thug #3. Is Ryan O'Reilly from Oz, 1997. And "The Vulture" from Brooklyn 99. A great character actor
Yeah! He cracks us up in whatever he does. Loved him in Brooklyn 99!
One of my first uni classes was on cemeteries. They are super peaceful and beautiful.
My fav. of John Wick's movie was all the of them and I'm looking forward for the next one cuz I love John Wick's Movies
Same!
That's wild that she called that Daisy was the dogs name
Oh shit she IMMEDIATELY called that the gold coins represent favors?? She's cracked
The Doorman Francis was played by Kevin Nash (the former WWE wrestler). Interesting fact he also played Super Shedder in the 90s movie TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze.
A renaissance man
"Knock off Ron Pearlman" was Kevin Nash. He's a pro wrestler and played The Russian in The Punisher movie.
That big doorman at the red circle with the beard that y’all call Ron Perlman is actually Kevin Nash, the WCW pro wrestler From back in the Day. he’s made a couple of appearances on WWE as well. He’s one of the rain leaders of the NWO with Hollywood hulk hogan.
Yeah, We just didn't recognize him. Haven't watched wrestling since the NWO days really. It's not the same without Scott Hall. Too Sweeeeeet!
Tess senses everything 😂
The shotgun is a uts-15 dual tubs and can hold 14 shells before reloading it.
@jessandness The doorman Francis is played by WWE Hall of Famer, Kevin Nash. When Francis was telling him about his weight, it was code for letting John know how many guards were inside of the club.
Yes, there are people like this in NYC. Downtown, where the streets have no numbers.
Also, what version of the movie were you watching? It's supposed to have translated subtitles for the Russian that's spoken.
It was from Peacock. Not sure why it didn't include the subtitles :(
@JessAndTess You need to watch the bluray or dvd versions. The subtitles are very important and very stylized. Prime might have the versions with the subtitlea
