After hearing about the Dodge Demon that broke its differential I decided to exercise some self defense for my Demon. I went and got a differential brace installed with my good friend Billy who installed the diff brace on my Dodge Hellcat. The differential brace was made by Per4mance Development, who make the best diff braces for modern mopars (Challengers and Chargers).

DONT FORGET TO CHANGE THE DIF FLUID THE METAL SHAVINGS CAN CAUSE FAILURE (internal failure and increased shaking etc)
The main reason for the diff brace is to prevent the aluminum casting from deflecting. When the ring & pinion are under a heavy load, they are trying to separate and the brace helps to prevent the aluminum housing from growing. I do a lot of work for ZF. (The company that makes those diffs.) I'm his reasoning plays a small part too.

The demon has a switch to open the exhaust when racing. It already straight pipes the exhaust.

He needs a set of crows feet for that torque wrench. He could have torqued all the bolts. All you need to remember is put the crows foot on at 90° and you won't need any correction factor.

Great video, but the bolts should have been put in downward, not upward. That is for just Incase the nut comes off, the bolt doesn’t fall out. Only reason it shouldn’t is due to fitment or lack of room, but it definitely looked like there was clearance. Also, you should always torque the nut and not the bolt, that is why crows feet are used.
He was sure talking about the how there nothing wrong with the placement or how it fit.... and he um’ed a lot.

That happened here in GA at the HEMI shootout event. I'm sure FCA will replace the part and take the failed dif in to investigate the problem.

The wheel hop on the challengers is brutal. From the Scatpack to the hellcat and Demon. I am upgrading tires to at least a 305 this spring. I am buying one of these axle braces for my scatpack for sure 👍 thanks for sharing. PS that 15” wheel conversion would sure be interesting on the Demon😉 or would it affect your warranty?

That seal do not look good brother, the gapping between the seal cause break and leakage in between the seal which would break it fast than reenforcing it.

Alex SJ hey Alex, I'm not sure if Ram still offers this but recently there was an option to order a RAM with All Wheel Drive if you were to go online or to the dealership and Build one. There was and may still be an option to get one in AWD. If that's the case then you have the room to put whatever engine configuration you'd like in there (Hellcat, Demon, etc.) and create a pretty intense vehicle! The reason i say all of that is because the base model RAM (like a city work truck) had the option, they are really cheap brand new and if you build it right or to your liking you can have a vehicle that costs MUCH less than a Hellcat or Demon and is a total sleeper making the same power if not more.... the jeep Trackhawk has the same engine as the Hellcat and when lined up next to a Hellcat you'd be surprised how the extra weight from the jeep and the AWD system actually outperforms the Hellcat cars... just my two cents. Build a ram, the price may surprise you. You may not have to upgrade the drivetrain as much and it's a total sleeper. I have a 2010 Jeep SRT8, if I knew l could've ordered an AWD RAM I would've done that and swapped a demon engine in that. Have good day man!

They give a car that much power...then they put an aluminum differential in it?
SRT did heat treat them...but it's just a matter off time with that much torque in a 4,200lbs car and sticky tires.
Even so, it's still a failure and an expensive one too. Buy a Demon, then change the rear end to a 9" Ford before the rear end in it fails I guess.
I Haven't seen anyone release a 9" replacement. Dynatrac has a Pro-60 IRS for 2005

I just said 9" Ford because that's the most common and I've helped change over several different brands of cars to the 9" Ford housings and center section. A cousin and I used to do them for a few hundred dollars per car/truck, evidently, we were not charging enough. ;)

What does diff do ? And why would it break if the car is made to run hard it's a muscle car ??????
A differential comes on all cars, and their purpose is to allow the wheels to rotate at different speeds. When you make a turn the inside wheel will turn faster than the outside wheel and without a differential the tires will slip.

I just wanted to say - that Dodge seems to be using some cheap ass differentials on all their cars. I just have a scat pack and I've already had my differential replaced once in just 2 years of use. In my car family - a LOT of people have had MULTIPLE differentials on their cars. Granted - you can say well its a warranty repair and wont cost you if you're under warranty... and they DO have recalls on some of them - but I'd say if you use your car and drive it the way it was intended to be driven.... you WILL eventually expect to replace your differential.
