    When having the oil changed on my Hellcat at a quick lube and oil change place they kept handing me 2 quarts of oil on my way out saying that the vehicle could only take 5 quarts. What I recently found from going to the dealership was that the oil was not being changed properly. Most quick oil change places want to get you in and out fast so they don't let the oil drain completely. I also learned that you can set an appointment at the dealership and have the car dropped off. It generally takes about 2 hours to have done, and depending on how many miles you put on your car the dealership could be the cheaper option. If you really want to save money you can go old school and do it yourself. Once the oil was changed properly and the oil filter was filled back up with oil the dipstick read halfway with 7 quarts of oil. The mechanic at the dealership advised that this is the proper reading on the dipstick.

      That's the thing. "If"...what if it's not tight, or too tight, and you squeeze a gasket, and it doesn't seal, now. What if a line from the oil cooler comes loose from the other side, when he's pulling the plug. It's simple enough to give things a once over while it's running. Cheap peace of mind.

      No problem, do a video on the crate if you can, I think it has a foam insert that goes in the trunk of the car so you could move everything safely to the track without it rattling but I'm not sure if I'm correct on that. Have a good week.

    Pennzoil .. hope they don't use parafin based lubricants and high sulfur oils anymore. Was mobile tech and racer last 25yrs. I seen nasty stuff out of people who swore by Quaker State, Pennzoil, Mobil 1 even on a guys Mitsubishi SUV with 3.0L v6 had sludge under valve covers. He swore by Mobil 1 and that's All we put in. I prefer Castrol or Valvoline for synthetics. Amsoil has done great as well with dual bypass filter kits on my diesels. Put a system on an 03 F350 6.0 4x4 . 2 wks later returned to service his minivan. Oil in F350 was crystal clear. Sorry I love protecting engines lol Nice Vid 😎👊🏼.... $189 for an oil change? And you only get one free? At my Dodge dealership for my Hellcat challenger and Trackhawk I get lifetime oil changes but if I were to buy them it cost $89. Meador is a price gouger.

    • @Eastsidegeorgiaboy
      @Eastsidegeorgiaboy 6 років тому

      Shannon Badeaux in the video she specifically says 3 full synthetic oil changes for $189.00. That equals to $63.33 a piece. Thats not too bad. She then went on to tell him about their $400.00 package that gets you 9 oil changes. Your $89.00 single oil change seems like the real ripoff.

    • @comdrgn8

      Ford ST cool. What's the name of your Dealership?

    • @autohelix
      @autohelix 6 років тому +1

      Demonology County Ford it's in North Carolina. What's cool about County Ford it's a small dealership out in the country, but they carry all the performance models ST,
      GT, RS and they even have the limited edition Richard Petty ford cars. My first new car I got at Green Ford and they sucked I was even dumb enough to buy an extended warranty from them when I had a few little issues they didn't care because I wasn't bringing my car up there for service I did the work myself. Got to the point where I had to write Ford letters and everything just to get a few little things done. So if you're in North Carolina don't buy a car from Green Ford.

    There's a spot for a wrench to fit on to the oiler cooler to prevent the twist on the cooler line when undoing the drain plug.

    I was just wondering why didn't they make that yellow piece black and you could leave it on there and you wouldn't be able to tell it then. Wonder why they made them yellow?

      A lot of owners painted them black and others colored them to match. Google it or UA-cam it my dude.

      Anthony Grider they made ut yellow because its easier for people to see and know how low the vehicle is.

      it's only for shipping purposes. Kinda like having the plastic on seats. Dealership is supposed to take them off During pdi. Many ask to keep on top protect and some because it looks cool. Many don't realize it will scratch and mark all around and leave a lone from dirt and sand scratching it

    I had a garage for more than 30 years. and you need to wash the engine with new oil after you drain the old oil. if not you will mix the bad oil with the new one and thats a disaster.

    Was it me or did the oil from the pan have a green look to it, and was that rust on the control arm? Other parts looked like there was oil/ grease on them.

      BradleyTheSapper water spots, not rust. I thought so too at first, but I looked closer and saw it was water spots.

    No one else worried about the fact that the "Technician" double gasketed the oil filter... Guess in few miles when it blows all the oil out, they'll not buy you a new engine. And way to dang near break off the cooler... Wouldn't trust that guy with my neighbors POS.

    $189 for an oil change GTFO! People are getting ripped off in my eyes, I am a mechanic of 18 years and have worked in a few dealerships. The guy working on the car in more than likely just an oil tech who gets paid hourly and not flat rate, wouldn't really call him a mechanic. The parts cost, 7 quarts of oil and filter is probably $70 for synthetic oil, half hour of work. I'm glad I do my own work.
