It's so good to see farmers do these variety/breed comparisons in larger scale. We used to be a seed producer (oats and barley) and were fortunate enough to have local farmers to do comparisons. It's really limited what the research stations can do own their own fields so this really gives added value for both seed producers and farmers
Absolutely! Farmers doing these large-scale comparisons are like running real-world science experiments. Plus, it's a win-win: seed producers get great data, and farmers get to see what actually works in the field. Everyone’s a little bit of a scientist out there!
This video is amazing! The agricultural machinery operating in the field is incredibly professional and precise. The modern equipment optimizes all farming processes, ensuring high productivity and saving time. Truly impressive with the current agricultural technology!
Watching these machines work on the field is both fascinating and inspiring. The level of professionalism and the advanced technology used is simply incredible. It’s amazing to see how much progress has been made in agriculture!
Truly you Fellers are just an inspiration. Love the channel. To see someone of your caliber with the whole computer and gaming programming? Background investing in yourself with UA-cam making a great channel I absolutely love farming simulator been playing since 2014 or so and still playing absolutely love Giants Software. I've worked on the farm since I was 14 earning a living but I'm from an area of Northern Maine and pretty much surrounded by 🥔 Taters & Broccoli 🥦 acreage as well with some soy bean 🫘 and peas 🫛 also winter wheat 🌾 or oats for covering cropage
Its awesome to watch. Here in New Zealand we plant rye/clover straight after corn and then fatten livestock off the same ground. The animals put nutrients back into the soil and we double our income.
Absolutely love the John Deere 9560 STS! Its advanced STS technology and efficient grain separation make harvesting a breeze. Perfect for getting the job done with precision and speed. A reliable workhorse that every farmer can count on! 🌾🚜
Great video and super helpful! We ran into similar issues with our 9660’s corner post display. A word of advice-check for corrosion on the wiring harness pin connections in the compartment near the stairs. Pull out the large computer board, unplug the 30/40-pin connector, and inspect for white corrosion on the pins. Scrape it off with a razor blade or use a corrosion inhibitor. But it does make me wonder-why do manufacturers still use components that are prone to corrosion in such critical areas? You’d think there’d be more robust solutions by now. Anyway, fantastic job on the video, really appreciate the content!
Picking corn at 12.70% no lp bill this year. Dusty is an understatement. Very dry and dusty. Gravel roads are just powder and bumpy. For me it's a fun harvest so far, been driving truck in the boone ia area.
Corn prices to the farmer down. Prices to consumer up. Farmers are the only ones that pay retail prices for everything but has to sell his product for wholesale prices. Thank a farmer for every meal you eat. Nice video guys. Congrats on a good yield and good harvesting weather. Thank You!
Initiatives including waving (canceling) property taxes for farmers that own less than 1,000 acres should be put in place; this would decrease inputs and there fore help with their overhead. This must be instituted as small farmers (defined as anything less than 1,000 acres totals) will be struggling this year to turn a profit, most corn farmers are looking a $1.00 per acre loss this year, extremely tragic.
We’re at 14-15% here in Minnesota. If it’s going to town immediately we keep it at 16 or less. Great video Grant. Chasing that dream love to see it man.
We had similar issues on our 9660 with the corner post display, check for corrosion on the wiring harness pin connections in compartment by the stairs. Pull the large computer board out and unplug the large 30/40 pin connector, look in the connector at the pins for a white corrosion, scrape off with a razor blade/brush/corrosion inhibitor.

I just found your channel today for the first time. I've always wondered why people who basically youtube for a living dont invest in their setup and have multiple cameras, drones and just do a better job at it. Some of these big channels are soooooooo boring they turn a camera on to tell us what they are going to do and then turn it off and turn it back on once its done.... where's the action shot? It cant be that hard. Nothing more boring that watching a BFV. It looks like you put a ton of time into it and do a good job, I'm a subscriber now
114-99 is having a great year! I’m a local DeKalb/Asgrow FSR for Bayer so if you ever want to learn more about hybrids or need help with Climate don’t hesitate to reach out!
If you are breaking cobs in half. It is mostly your header auger needs to be adjusted. So the cobs can't seek under or behind the auger. We just did that to our combine because the cobs would break in half before they go in.
Love the video Grant! I really think you need another 4wd tractor on the farm. My personal favorite tractor of all time would be a John Deere 7810 4wd powershift. Such a handy tractor for everything in my opinion.
My uncle has a 9770 Bullet rotor, and it’s works great! We just got about a quarter of a field done today, and my Uncle says it’s his favorite combine, and he wouldn’t trade it for jack shit 😂 Love from Kentland, IN ❤️
I've been driving all over Newton County last week and again this coming week doing a pavement analysis for the county. May have seen it out in the field.
Yes, it’s pretty crazy. He looked back and all of a sudden his combine was engulfed in flames. Fortunately he knows what he’s looking for when buying equipment and he found one he liked pretty quick.
This is my dream job but here in Greece the prices for our crops are very low and the prices for seeds and fertilizer are high and we dont really do well every year (i am 18 years old and i love farming)
Hey grant. Are you and the crew with Spencer and Garret and the others going to do y'all's haunted and scary camp outs in farming simulator 22 this month?
Speaking of precision planting, you mentioned one of your previous videos that you were looking to upgrade to precision I just wanted to warn you that your frame is not a very good frame for Delta force. I worked for a guy that had a 1760 and when we got into some no-till ground the frame wasn’t heavy enough and we couldn’t put enough downforce down. Just a little tidbit. Keep up the good work.
I have Ops Center- I just don't have the Modem bought yet to upload to Ops Center wirelessly. So for now Fieldview is easier to use. Next year will most likely purchase the modem so I can upload wirelessly in 8110 & Combine.
@@granthilbert5632 they had a really cool package this spring on sale and when you bought a new GEN five screen, you got a free mode and the whole package with but yeah, it’s very expensive stuff it’s easier on the wallet when you buy it overtime.
Hey quick question for any farmers in the States. Did you all have issues with wild oats? there was a lot of wild oats and kosher weed that just would not die to any spray im just curious if that's down there too or not
There's a few ways to look at it. While at 16% you don't pay as much drying costs you usually don't yield as many bushels as you would harvesting it at 18-22% due to phantom loss (highly debated topic). In the video, I referenced a study last year that was done across 4 hybrids and 24% was the most economical moisture to harvest and take directly to the elevator and pay dry down costs. This year the economics aren't in the studies favor as much. Will never really know unless I conduct the study on farm! Should have done it this year.
@@granthilbert5632 I understand completely it’s the fact you don’t have storage is the reason for the comment.. I try and pick 18-24% to dry and store… yes there is a a cost to dry and there is shrink but I always say is I have more kernels to shrink at 18% then at 14%…. After 15.5 you lose money the other way in water… 14% is -1.5 points and on 200 bu. Corn that’s 3 bushels a acre
What I've gathered from all of the farming videos I've watched is that the farming community is a very tight knit community.
Nothing like a Saturday afternoon watching grant do corn ❤️
Haha, all you need now is some popcorn and a can of corn juice for the perfect afternoon! 🌽🍿
