I prefer the color/style of the PS1 version. I wish they had made new high res textures for that look. That being said, this doesn't read as a "remaster" to me at all? It appears to literally be the Dreamcast version, with a better lighting engine that isn't even utilized that well.
Something that no one mentions or makes a point of in the video is the fact that the ps1 actually had breakable objects as well, which could gain you extra score. Especially on the trade federation ship there are droid computers that can be destroyed with the lightsaber. Interactivity with the environment was better on ps1.
It's interesting. They clearly used the Dreamcast version while trying to simulate the lighting from the PS1. I'm not sure if it's worth a price tag of 20$, but at least it will open up some options to mod it via the PC version. On sale, I'd still call this a win.
The remaster looks worse than the Dreamcast version in an emulator. The new textures don't look like they fit the game engine or the art design. Visually this is a hack job. Also sucks that they didn't put anything from the PS1 version into the remaster, as it has better art direction and more faithful lightsaber effects to the movies.
In many ways Dreamcast version is a downgrade of PS1 version despite running at a better resolution. Especially on the Trade Federation Battleship, PS1 version has dark textures just like in the movie, while Dreamcast version is a mess. It's a shame that the remaster was based on Dreamcast version.
Remaster acertado, uma vez que a versão Dreamcast, possui melhor gráficos, pelo fato do console da Sega ser da Sexta Geração, e o Plastation 1 ser da Quinta Geração!
@NeoGamer oh thank you so much for that context! It's known Sam Jackson asked for the purple lightsaber when he got the part, so still odd Lucasfilm didn't correct. But maybe that conversation was when filming Episode 2.
Kind of useless remaster actually, imho. I understand, it is not a remake, but 20$ for UHD graphics looks strange. Tomb Raider remasters offer much more for the same price.
The PS1 version shows how artistic style could look better than technical advancements
Bruh have you played the PS1 version? It plays like wasabi water. Dreamcast is the best version by far
@@CropCirclePictureshe’s talking about the art direction
@@CropCirclePictures Did you read the comment? He said art direction, not gameplay.

Indeed is called a REMASTER, but in reality is a RE-Texture or a HD texture version of the game, nothing more.

It's odd seeing the comparison, the Dreamcast version is the only version I ever knew

I love this video well done

Wtf why is his lightsaber only purple in the remaster? That's such an odd thing for the original to do.
This game was released before episode 2, the first movie to show his lightsaber.

@@SideWalkWalking At some point there was a cannon explanation on why he had a blue one during ep 1, but it's probably not canon anymore so idk

Blame Disney... I'm just happy to be able to play these classics natively with how many have been left in the dirt over the decades.
I vote ps1
I definitely would not call that a remaster
??
I do not see much improvement either
Good thing i pirate
Lets not call it remaster. Lets say PC port
There is nothing new, just better graphics than PS1
