the song is about that the guitarist had a overdose and was dead for some mnuts. One of the ambulance gyus gave him two insted of only one dose of adrenaline in his heart and that brought him back to live. thatss the reson for this song.
I saw these guys in concert with Poison about 10 years ago. What a great concert! Tommy Lee is up there as my 2nd favorite drummer! He was married to Pamela Anderson. They had a toxic relationship. You might recognize him from that. He is really an amazing, amazing drummer! Nikki Six, the bassist, is REALLY good! The lead guitarist is Mick Mars, he is amazing! The lead singer is Vince Neil. Great band if you like Glam Rock or Hair Band rock! This song isinspired by Nikki Six dying of a heroine overdose and they pumped him with adrenaline and his heart started back up. He died twice actually. So many hair bands were WILD, WILD, WILD in the 80's & early 90's. Lots of girls and partying! This is my teen years of music. It takes me back to high school.
Kickstart My Heart= Nikki Sixx pronounced dead after heroin OD...EMT recognized him (big fan) and brought him back with 2 shots of adrenalin. Throughout the song are references to things that pump adrenalin (in very Motley ways!) and how they've lived their past. Now check out their song/music video "Dr. Feelgood"~ an anti-drug song with references to the dealer who shot Nikki up w/heroin the first time he died a year or 2 prior. The dealer left him in a dumpster to die. I think that happened in London.
Love me some Nikki Sixx! I saw them perform before Uncle Mick retired... I really hope they don't end it on bad terms.. even Nikki Sixx can't live forever... despite having outlived his ex and both of her exes...
Crazy is an understatement! Saw them back in 87 with Guns N Roses. Check out Wild Side,Home Sweet Home,Primal Scream,Smokin in the boys Room,Live Wire,Same Ol Situation,Too Young to Fall in Love,Dr Feelgood,10 seconds to Love
The drummer's name is Tommy Lee. He is has been popular for more than just music. Yes, he is a good drummer.. but many people remember from these years that he was initally married to Heather Locklear and then to Pamela Anderson. He got into some legal trouble and is somewhat of a 'bad boy'.. Im not sure about his behavior these days.. but at least he's not in the news as frequently. xo
The drummer is Tommy Lee. You may know him from his brief marriage and the release of a s*x tape with Pam Anderson. The guitarist is Mick Mars. He is very overlooked in the guitar world but he was a wizard and my personal fav in the group. I was a teen when these guys were hot in the 80s and many people loved them, and still do. I saw them right before all the lock downs and they were great. I've never personally looked into this, but many people say it over and over, plus I believe it's possibly verified in a biography or documentary. Whatever the case, I'm confident the story is true but the song is about the bass player, his name is Nikki Sixx, and he over d*sed on heroin and in the ambulance the had to give him two shots of adrenaline straight to the heart to kick start it. I think the lyrics are possibly about all the fun and good times they could have as long as their hearts are beating. That's my interpretation, but hey - in the days before the internet, lyrics could be whatever you wanted them to be if you couldn't understand them. 😂Just rock out to the groove. And I would call them hard rock, yes. Peace and blessings, my brother in Christ.
Love THIS! I was reading comments when YOU picked up the bass and got it down. Song is about adrenaline rush from the perspective of guys who lived in a fast lane that mere mortals can't imagine. As you played bass I could almost hear a funk version of this coming down. You up for a cover? Funk this one up! And if you want a more complex tune Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper" would be fun for you.
CBR, I just found your channel. Based on your comments in this video regarding the music, I have a request. If you're not familiar, treat yourself to a true guitar anthem. You'll love the bass guitar as well! This song has everything you said you enjoy. Please check out Ted Nugent's audio only version of Stranglehold. I think you'll enjoy every moment. It's a longer song, but it seems to be over too soon! Enjoy! Peace!!
These guys all had fun toooo much fun
It's all about ADRENALINE.

I love guys and gals like you that actually have the musical knowledge to catch what you are listening to, instead of only having straight opinions.
Yes, the driver is Sam Kinison! He hung around with all the rockers in the 80s

Your guitar rif sounds like the beginning of a punk song. I am sure you will get to Punk soon enough.
Who are some good punk artists?
Sex Pistols punk band. Song: "God Save the Queen". Check the video so you can see them perform live. Its a start.
Crazy? Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll. They embraced and embodied it.
The song was inspired by an overdose suffered by the bassist.
Watch "The Dirt". Then tell us how crazy they are. Just saying.
The bassist, Nikki Sixx, died twice in one night of a heroine overdose and was brought back with adrenaline shots to his heart
Bass player overdosed. Was actually pronounced dead. Revived went home did another hit.
Serious? That’s wild!
Listen to Alter Bridge. You can start with any song, but 'Blackbird' is their most reacted to song.
I will check that out
