    Head angles of enduro and DH bikes are slack not steep ;) Definitely slacker than those on trail bikes.

      Brands are brands. They will try to sell you an old bike with a new name. It's like gravel-bikes. I got a cyclocross and that is the same thing without the stupid frame gravels are coming with. But it is a better name for something that old. And it had impact. Same people who would never try getting on a cyclocross drive these gravel-bikes, because the name and the description is different. More "civilized".

    I'm new into MTB. Why not get the hardcore DH bike and ride it accordingly? I'm looking to get 1 eMTB and would like it to be my only. My area is more trails with no mountain regions whatsoever, but I would totally be interested in trying something like downhill coursing in travel.

    • @SummitMTB
      @SummitMTB  11 місяців тому +5

      If you get a downhill MTB you will not be able to climb well and your bike will be heavy... So you are better off getting a trail bike ( with more travel if you want) so that you have a good balance, especially if you don't have many mountains nearby. An Enduro bike might be a good idea if you want more travel... Enjoy your new bike anyway :)

      @@SummitMTBI prefer downhill bikes, I don't know why. I feel safe riding a heavy and beefy bike.

      Man, if you'r new to MTB, a DH bike is just the worst option of all in my opinion. These bikes are exclusively made for DOWNHILL, and bikers will most of the time use a chairlift, to avoid climbing at all costs. In addition, DH riders have usually been riding with the rest of the bikes for many years to get the experience needed to enjoy DH. If I were you, I would go for a Trail eMTB, and more if you just want one bike. Thank me later.

      You definitely don't need a bike that can send it over a 100 foot canyon gap.
      I've been riding 25 years and my most used bike and most capable bike is a hardtail "trail" bike. I think everyone should pretty much start there. My bike is a Orbea Laufey for example. And it's been amazing!

      its "jack of all trades" by the way. Not to be a grammar nazi or anything, but it looked a little silly to say traits

    • @FenrisEx

      A fully or even enduro gives you much more stabilization in the green. XC-Bikes are "faster" and more lightweight. I own a XC-Bike but I would not go on steep trails with it. Light trails are fine with a hardtail. Much more direct impact and better speed adjustment in my opinion. But a fully is way smoother to ride in steep situations. But I am over 40 now and would not even touch black-trails with my bike. I am fine with your "Jack of all trades". It's a cool bike in every normal situation. I ride it every day. I love it. Even more than my cyclocross although it would be the better choice in my area. It gives you the best of both worlds. A fast speedup and a smooth handling on more instatble grounds. I am a messy inthat way. I got a fully, a cyclocross, a XC (the one I ride most), and a completely overtuned travelbike that I don't even like to ride when I am not on travel - 9k(price) Titan frame with everything titan down to the last screw. It's a workhorse for sure. A travel bike, but nothing else. Too expensive to let it stand for an hour and too "slow" for a good fun ride on your free time. But a really good bike for traveling. I crossed peru with it. It was awesome - (Brand name: Falkenjagd)
