The Agressive Hardtails fit more into the trail category. They feature larger suspension forks, slacker geometries, wider and knobbier tires, and many come with dropper posts. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the simple explanation! It might be surprising to most seasoned mtn bike riders, the various categories of mtn bikes can be confusing/intimidating for newbies so this is super helpful!
I got a hard tail mountain bike and I love it! With a squishy seat cover I don’t miss the back suspension at all and I feel like I can ride over anything and go uphill and down and around sharp corners, having a blast!
I never want a hard tail again after driving with a full suspension for a time! That’s really a night and day difference! Just alone because of the driving comfort!
After 5 years on a 26inch XC hardtail bike from 2017 to 2022 i upgraded to a 27.5inch XC full suspension bike i can say the difference its there you'll feel, i got used to it pretty quickly, i love the balance between speed and agility! I don't think i'll upgrade to a 29inch wheel anytime soon (the next 5-10 years) and i don't plan on selling my bikes even if i get bored of them 🫡 E-bikes ? Working on a Custom build delimited one, im safe from regulations regarding e-bikes for the next 25-50 years, God i love the Balkans 😂
Honestly, this could not have been structured any better. It is a phenomenal and concise introduction to a very perplexing subject, at least for a complete novice such as myself. Thanks a ton! A huge plus was the lack of a frustrating British accent which made it even clearer.
Ngl, was looking at yt videos comparing bikes, helping me understand what i need, and you sir, after so many videos, have finally help me decide. My first MTB will be.. a trail bike definitely
The canyon strive is the best enduro bike cause you can ride it anywhere because it has a shape shifter which allows you to change the rear shock between 130/160mm of travel which makes it the ultimate mountain bike.❤
This a great video. I bought a gen 3 marlin on a whim and fell in love with it. Decided I wanted more of a trail bike, didn’t know differences going into it. After some research, the old marlin frame is much more XC where as the gen 3 has the same slacker angle as a trail bike. Looks like I can just upgrade some parts and have a decent trail bike to learn on!
Remember when you were a kid it was called "A bike" and it was just as fun? Actually I remember two district categores of bike growing up: 1) with playing cards in the spokes 2) whisper mode aka stealth mode
Excellent video. Curious where a fat tire bike falls in this spectrum? Aware it's an outlier but I'm guessing more on the XC or trail areas. Is that accurate?
I would never want to race downhill on a hard tail. Some categories don’t include them in that case. I wouldn’t really want to race enduro with one either but plenty of people do recreationally.
"Full suspension" means that the rear wheel can move up and down relative to the rest of the bike, so seat post suspension does not make it a hardtail.
Can't be more agree with you with what you say from 2:30 to 3.00. my case and I think the least of the people do... Then they are experts are telling you have to have all the features and spend all your money and they don't know anything about MTB variety
My favorite category is enduro and because I can use it for all types of riding that I like to do. But I would say the most popular is the Trail category, and the most common bike you'll see is the cross country hardtail
Maybe I just suck, I don’t wanna die going up hills and live for the down hills… I don’t mind don’t technical stuff on trails…. What would I consider myself ? ( I don’t live to ride up hard stuff, I’m only going up to come back down )
how about aggressive hardtail?what category it is?by theway nice video

@@adventuresportu nice.thanks alot dude 💪
Simple and clear comparison of XC, Trail, Enduro, and DH bikes.

This was the best comparison I could find. I live in Monterey so it’s awesome you’re up in Santa Cruz. Thanks for the great video

Excellent presentation...clear and concise. 👍
Best explanation Iv found so far! Great video
Awesome, thank you!

Best explanation of the differences I have seen. Thanks!!!

2:36 dope racing fit. i go ucsc as well, and am joining the mtb club this coming fall. super pumped!!
I have a trek Rascoe 7. It’s a hard tail but it’s more of a trail bike. 140mm of air fork suspension, 2.8 inch tires, and a dropper post
Good vid man 👍. Simple, clean, and to the point. I found it very helpful!
My first explanation regarding these bikes. Thanks for making sense 👍
The canyon strive is the best enduro bike cause you can ride it anywhere because it has a shape shifter which allows you to change the rear shock between 130/160mm of travel which makes it the ultimate mountain bike.❤
Simple and direct explanation. Thanks.
Great intro.. thanks!
Excellent information, and excellent explanation.

Can you link the pdf?

Great explainer video. Very well done and clearly explained. Thank much.
Finally a video that lets me know what I want 😅very useful thx
I love my trail hardtail. 63.5° head tube with 150mm Fox 36. Its almost an Enduro hardtail. :)
Excellent video. Curious where a fat tire bike falls in this spectrum? Aware it's an outlier but I'm guessing more on the XC or trail areas. Is that accurate?
What if I put double crown forks on a xc bike
What about freeride bikes and slopestyle/dirtjumpers?
Wow thanks!
Just bought a specialised full sus DH bike man its so hard to ride up steep inclines 😂
Hi! I just got into MTB and got my own bike, just wondering, do all of the categories listed have their own hardtails, full sus, etc?
I would never want to race downhill on a hard tail. Some categories don’t include them in that case. I wouldn’t really want to race enduro with one either but plenty of people do recreationally.
Hey I got a question, I can't find an answer for it.
My bike has a SEATPOST suspension, does it make my bike FULL SUSPENSION or just normal Hardtail?
"Full suspension" means that the rear wheel can move up and down relative to the rest of the bike, so seat post suspension does not make it a hardtail.
Thank you very much dude
Where is the pdf file?
what about gravel and dirt jumpers?
Is it safe to put a suspension fork with a 120-130 mm travel in a hard tail xc bike?
depends on the bike. The brand should specify on their website
@kettlebell eddie said what I would say
what about 26inch hardtail im using a raleigh renegade pls reply
What if I turn my gravel bike to xc?
Nice video. What about all mountain bikes?
"all mountain" is another way of saying "trail" bike in my opinion. I could be wrong but thats what I've always assumed.
@@adventuresportu I have norco sight and it's 150/140. I like to call it all mountain because it's right in the middle between trail and enduro.
@@adventuresportu Btw your video is very detailed and helpfull (most importantly to new riders). Cheers. 🤙🏻
@@mislavjelinic5442 love it. Thank you and ride on brother!

In the Philippines we have this thing called XConcrete where XC mtbs are used for road racing along with road bikes 🤪🤪🤪🤪😂😂😂
So the gravel is also the MTB?
what is your favorite category and which is the most popular?
My favorite category is enduro and because I can use it for all types of riding that I like to do. But I would say the most popular is the Trail category, and the most common bike you'll see is the cross country hardtail
@@adventuresportu but depending on the terrain that is not too hard, a trail bike would be better because of the weight
MTB didnt start as a full suspension
