I took the cable car when I visited Arvi. Looking down and seeing kids playing, dogs running, people stepping out of their homes as I glided above them towards the top felt like a dream. I will never forget the experience. When I did reach the top I got out of the cable car and watched it begin its return to the bottom and as I watched I realized I had left my cell phone on it. I notified security and after about 30 minutes the cable car returned wrapped in plastic! it was a $900 phone as most are these days and I did not expect to see it again. I tried to tip them $20 for helping me out but they refused to take it. Great folks out there in Colombia.
Very true about native medellinenses. I left my phone in a cab. I was devastated, gone were my pictures, etc. To my surprise the cab driver found it , he traced me and gave it to me and did not accept money from me
I'm happy to read that you had a great experience with my people in my city. Whenever you come back to Medellin, allow me to show you Parque Arvi from an insiders perspective via barrio Bello Oriente. We locals don't use the cable car or pay entrance, that's what the park want you to do so they're making good money. Via me you can make a real social impact and help the poorest people who live directly underneath Parque Arvi.
Been here. Such a beautiful place in the mountains above Medellin. The cable car ride and the scenery it affords you AND THEN the park above! Magnificent day trip!
Did you know there are free and paid walking tours from finca Amsterdam in barrio Bello Oriente in Comuna Manrique? No need to pay the cable car twice or pay entrance but join us locals for the local experience.
👏 I congratulate DAVID for being such a good host, he is to be applauded since he is not a native of the city and yet he loves and knows Medellin more than many locals.
David is really a fantastic "guide" to visit this wonderful park and the city of Medellin. He is truly a nice and protective boy. The place is just amazing. Thank you for sharing this great experience
Alina, This video was very thoughtful and not to mention beautiful😍. And to have found a fellow youtuber David to guide and explain what you're seeing takes the burden away from you having to do the research, video and security by yourself. Less stressful. Harriet and I enjoyed our time in Medellin as you have. Thank you so much for taking us along😍😍. As always, looking forward to your next adventures. Be Well. Stay Safe. Sending you lots of love.💖💖 Jim and Harriet. Richmond, Va.
Hi guys, Thanks David for showing Alina my city of Medellin, it was nice to see you both enjoying the food and everything else, greetings from USA 🇺🇲🙏🇨🇴
You look happy, confortable and so nice. That's what happened when people from other countries come to visit us. I'm glad you enjoy. Hugs from Medallo🌹
Very good video, very educational, with David's company the video became much more fun, these are the videos that everybody like to see quite different and cultural, congratulations Alina
That was very educational all about the area there. Enjoyed David's great pointers and the knowledge he has about safety and the guide was funny and entertaining. Thanks for sharing this, Alina! You had a nice time and we saw everything through your eyes and also learned about some great food. As you know and Alona knows that I am always attracted to try things I have never had before. Can't wait to see your next video, I know you will get everything out of that trip you can....Let the wonder continue. Keep safe and smiling, we always enjoy your video's. Cheers!! 💗☺🏆
Davis is not from Medellin. He's an US expat exploiting Medellin. David lives in a decent barrio called where are more expats in Floresta, that's near Laureles and that's not even close to where we live in barrio Bello Oriente in Comuna Manrique alta. It's a bit weird to hear David speak about the violent past while he wasn't there and he's just thinking from his own perspective, versus how we Paisas actually live. Why not hire a real local who can tell you real stories from a Paisa point of view?
Well the joy's hiking in tropical area's. There will be rain at some point just depends on whether or not it's a drizzle, a light rain, or a down pour. This of course ensures that there will be mud. It was a nice hike and the cable car ride gave a good view of the area. So this was a nice video and David helped to explain, and provide context to what you were seeing.
Thanks so much for sharing this video! Im currently in deep in the trenches of planning my first solo trip to Medellin, and I'm beyond excited. I can't wait to visit Arvi, hopefully the pooches are still there. 💚
What's up Diego, soy Diego de barrio Bello Oriente in Comuna Manrique Medellin. We are right underneath Parque Arvi and we take tourists on free and paid walking tours to Parque Arvi. Find me for real deal tours and real stories!

Hello Alina! I very much enjoyed the views from the cable car and the scenic tour of Park Arvi. Beautiful nature! For a non-native of Medellín, David is a very knowledgeable tour guide! Both of you work so well together. Thanks for sharing this delightful visit to Park Arvi! Be safe, Alina!
nice day alina you learned a lot of words and very well pronounced, it's always nice to see you, I really like to see you smile like that bye bye when you return to medellín maybe we'll see each other, take care of yourself.and good trip.👋
Lovely beautiful park. Arvi Park, hill station, definitely seems like a must go place And views from cable car is nice. still no running water, woo! so green, so cool
I'm from the barrio directly underneath Parque Arvi and we have for 2 years we have clean drinking water in barrio Bello Oriente, which means beautiful east, and we are the most isolated and poorest barrio in Comuna Manrique, Medellin.
You guys are two of my favorite vloggers. It was like getting double jackpot to see both together. Last weekend I went to Washington DC area to go to the Museum area, on the way back we went to Potomac Riverside, it was slippery like what you guys had experienced . Nice to see strong energetic inspirational guys like you. I have been thinking of going to Medellin or Rio in the summer.

The cable car is for ignorant tourists. We locals walk inside the park for free and we don't pay the cable car twice or pay a giude. That's paying three times just to get in the park, while we locals do it for free.
Алинчик, привет! Спасибо за экскурсию, виды очень красивые! С таким замечательным гидом можно отлично отдохнуть! Ничего не поняла из сказанного им, но видно что это позитивный человек! 👍🔥
FYI in Parque Arvi are 2 SUV's, three police motorcycles with each two officers and three horses with police@@AlinaMcleod We locals always help travelers and you should stop making people afraid. It doesn't serve anyone.
I've been to Arvi Park. Just one tip you have to rush when going in and out of the cable cars. I know David from Life with David. You gotta love walking with David .He walks everywhere.
I watched one of Davids' videos, so I could get another perspective on Medellin, and from fellow American. So what a surprise, to see him in this with you! I was thinking, you said upscale apts., go for about $1000. per month. And he said in his video, he said they went for only $570., tho in a different area. So I'm glad you cleared that up.
Medellin is big and has 16 city parts and 249 barrios. David and the girl only stay in the tourism areas and that's Laureles and Poblado. In these area's the prices are double or tripple and the crime is the highest because all the poor come and rob the rich in their own barrio. You can stay in Medellin already from 100 USD and up per month. Whoever is telling you different is filling up his/her pockets. Medellin is cheap and not expensive.
Amazing video, and a big thank you to David for his valuable insight! Definitely inspired me to visit Medellín someday and hop on a cable car to check out these picturesque views 🚠🇨🇴
Are you inspired to visit Medellin? Book a tour with a real local and make a social impact instead of letting foreigners show you around who know 0.01 about the real Medellin.

Awesome video. Came for David, stayed for the two of ya! Glad you're having an enjoyable time after what happened in, was it Barranquilla? Great energy.
Such a very calming video. What bag did you use for this trip? Have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane.
David said it himself at 12 min and 3 seconds. Always go with somebody from the area (like me), because I live in barrio Bello Oriente in Comuna Manrique in Medellin, and we are directly underneath Parque Arvi and we use 2 trials to go up and down the mountain in less than 60 minutes. I'm not only a reporter (blogger) and a guide, but I've been walking here since 5+ years and I know all the locals visiting Parque Arvi. No need to pay entrance to Parque Arvi, no need to pay the cable car twice and pay a guide one time at the end of the tour (based on tips). Sounds fair?
Premiro tiempo yo uso metrocable es 2017 a arvi. Muy bien dia. I bought a moto y got my soat y went to santa marta via many diferente pueblos. Llano de cuiba es a huge colombian guy and we are friends to this day. Ive ver 3 years in colombia out of 7. Im coming back again yet a little concerned about what some friends tell me lately
Нравится видеть красивую, жизнерадостную девушку и проплывающие внизу сказочные кварталы! Также нравится грязная лужа в лесу - так похоже на Россию! Привет Алина!😆🌳🌴🌲
Maybe I’m a little biased about the name “David”, but he seems like a good-hearted guy! Good protection as an escort, too - just look at those arms, a powerful punch if needed! Of course, the woman with the stick …. Yup, she could probably do some damage too! 😉 That park is a treasure! Without the mud it would be an easier time, but guess it comes with the season. Love the high elevations and lookouts! And that doggie welcoming party …. They always manage to find you, Alina. 😊 The contrast of cable cars and wireless access card readers against the hillside domiciles that may be without water - shows that they are making progress. Seems they need a water supply (tank) at the top of the mountain to gravity feed to the towns below - maybe that is there already. Disparity of technology across the world is a curious thing to me. In the end, sweet woman, I’m glad you are with us; you brighten the world with your video expose’s. Bless you daily!
I would never encourage people to play for a hero in Medellin, because your life can end in a matter of seconds. Medellin has a criminal culture and when you fight back against a robber, the chances of going to the ER just increased with 99.9%. We comply and live another day. Nowadays all houses in the lower estratos in Comuna Manrique have clean drinking water. There are just a handful of finca's that don't have it, because they have different water pipelines and it's possible water comes out yellow due to dirt. That's fine for taking a shower, when you have soap, but you can't use the water to drink, brush your teeth or to cook.
Yea. They knew you were Ukranian and prepared Vinagret. That Park is really astonishly beatiful. The tropical forest at higher mountains. And some trails look as Stanley Park in Vancouver. Don´t you think so? Medellin the most dangerous city in the world? I was in Washington DC in the 90´. At the Hilton Hotel. They told me at the reception not going out after 6 pm. !!
YT shut him down for poor content and ilegal hustle. It will be a long minute before he comes back on. Its very rare when YT shuts down a vlogger for any kind of infraction so you know David did something very bad.
David is full of sh*t and we locals know it, but we don't blame you for not knowing. That's why David doesn't have any local friends and that's why he's leaving Medellin. I have a serious problem with what David says about us poor locals and trying to make other people afraid of us. That's unacceptable. @@AlinaMcleod
GOOD POINT!!! That's so true. Rich Colombians say about the poor that we are dangerous, so expats and tourists don't spend money on us. I also heard David say that people get robbed and beat up by locals. That's pure propoganda. With other words, don't spend money on others, but on us and that is going to change. Mark my words.
I've been living outside my beautiful Medellin since 2 years here in Germany and this video make me cry, it reminds me how great are the mountains, the surrounding areas and also the people there. Thanks for charing and showing to the rest of the world the beautiness of my country.

That park is a treasure! Without the mud it would be an easier time, but guess it comes with the season. Love the high elevations and lookouts! And that doggie welcoming party …. They always manage to find you, Alina. 😊
The contrast of cable cars and wireless access card readers against the hillside domiciles that may be without water - shows that they are making progress.
Алина что по поводу безопасности в Колумбии?
Thanks " For " Sharing " Your " Videos " I " Like " it " David " is " Great " Man😇👍
Where did david's channel go? Did he just quit youtube?
YT shut him down for poor content and ilegal hustle. It will be a long minute before he comes back on. Its very rare when YT shuts down a vlogger for any kind of infraction so you know David did something very bad.
David’s channel got hacked but it will be back soon.
Just can't escape the rain, can you? 😆 Time to get some water resistant shoes, haha
I hope David can get his channel back. The tour lady was probably protecting her job by making people afraid of hiking alone lol
Naw people actually got jumped there. And yes hopefully David gets his channel back soon.
My pleasure!
I liked your vlog and I wish a great day
