Dang I was just quoted $1263 to change a leaking condenser. Looked up the condenser part and it was less than $200. Now you got me thinking if I should take this on myself
Worth a shot! Not a crazy difficult job
Not me thinking I can do this myself until I hear “freeze your eyeballs”
Haha safety glasses exist too! 🥽
How much coolant is needed after it has leaked out? You said you personally charged it just wondering how that was done.
I used the machine at work to charge it with refrigerant. It says in the engine bay. It’s r134a refrigerant. Uses a vacuum pump and then uses the vacuum to draw in the refrigerant.
How do you know that it’s a leak and doesn’t just need a AC recharge ?
I’m having the same problem.
Ac systems don’t use refrigerant. If it’s low there is a leak always. If it needs a recharge there is a leak somewhere
how many hrs labor would be billed for this do you think.
Probably 3.5 maybe with all the evac and recharge. Not positive on that tho. Just got paid 4.4 for a similar job on a 2018 Buick encore. So it can get up there.
Never suggest that people vent the charge to the atmosphere. Bad start. Also, it needs to be vacuumed down to get all atmospheric contaminates out before going through all this work. Aftermarket parts have no QC, & YOU are the QC. Is it really worth it to save a few dollars if you have to the entire job again? Sure they will replace the part since the part would have failed QC, but all the labor, drawdown and refrigerant is on you. Also, these cars are VERY picky about the exact amount of oil and charge, which makes it easy to get wrong and screw more things up.
Fresh air temp sensor? Really, that was the air bag impact sensor.
Lol you’re funny guy
It’s the ambient temp sensor
I can no longer watch your videos due to freezing my eyeballs
Ill have you speak to my attorney ;)
