I have a 2010 chevy equinox and have changed the compressor, changed the condenser, the expansion valve, the pressure switch and the blend door actuator had it flushed out and refilled and still no cold air, took it to get another opinion and was told that the brand new compressor was bad, so I just had another compressor put in. And still no cold air. Will my vehicle have one of these solenoids. Because I can't find one online for a 2010. I'm stuck atp after spending over 2000 and having 2 compressors put in, I can't see it being the compressor maybe the solenoid as you stated but would the solenoid be bad on a brand new compressor?
Im working on troubleshooting my customer Chevrolet Sonic 2014, the problem is the ac clutch is not engaging. I try replacing the pressure switch. Still not working. I test the compressor by jumping a wire on its relay socket and it works. I checked the relay and it's ok. I checked the supply voltage as well and it works fine too. One thing I noticed is...the negative of the AC clutch relay is present only of the relay is out of the socket. But once you plug in the relay it goes off. When I pressed the AC switch it doesn't give any signal to the relay. I checked by continuity where is the negative coming from. And I found out it was from the vehicle pcm or computer box located at the engine. So scanned the vehicle using the LAUNCH OBD 2 scanner. It didn't give any fault code, I also performed an actuation test to see if the AC climate controller is faulty. And it all responsive, the evaporator pressure switch is also fine. Even it's harness...I only didn't know is which single wire or pin from the socket at the back of the climate controller should give signal to the computer box to activate the clutch relay. Hoping that you could give me a hint regarding this problem. I'm now doing a continuity test from end to end to locate which wire is responsible passing it signal from ac climate controller to ecu after pressing the AC switch on climate controller assembly. I will wait for your reply. Or if you have any constructive diagram that fit to Chevrolet Sonic 2014. Kindly pls pass me a link to check it. GOD BLESS 🙏
Look at South Main Auto video diagnosing an old Subaru blowing A/C fuses and drawing excessive amps. Eric 0. checked the field coil resistance, which was too low (about 1.4 to 1.5 ohms), allowing it to draw too much current(resistance should be from 3 to 4 ohms, 4 is better) and pulling lots of amps instantly and blowing the 10 amp fuse which protects the current going from relay plug #30(battery voltage) to #87 (ECM ground) i.e. the control circuit. You can measure that resistance at the connector plug behind the compressor drive wheel) on the compressor. Good luck.
Not sure if you’ll see this BUT my AC stopped blowing out cold air it will not take anymore refrigerant we are trying to find where the AC clutch relay is in my Chevy trax are you able to help!???
What if the compressor clutch engages but takes a while before it starts to cool the vehicle on a cold start.. but when it runs for about 5-10 mins then it starts to blow cold air would that be the cause of it also?
Hi World Mechanics, My car AC system has warm air coming out at idle, and little cold when driving. At idle, It reads 48 at low side and 98 at high side, some knocking noise. When pressing gas paddle to 2000rpm, it reads 35-40 at low side and 100-120PSI at high side, no noise. Could it be electronic control valve? Or A/C compressor is wearing out? Thanks in advance.
Testing with a cooking thermometer should have given 5°C vent temperature at most. 0°C at vents mean a frozen evaporator and a frozen evaporator means no airflow in no time...
So if my compressor (2013 Malibu) runs fine,clutch kicks in but it stops sending cold gas randomly through the low pressure line ( you can feel it cold and not so cold randomly but clutch always working ( could this be the cause? By the way,those guys are the best✌️.

Intentional vs Unintentional is the key. I assume that you aren't intentionally destroying the front of your vehicle in a crash? But intentionally releasing freon into atmosphere is clearly a different thing.
I drive a 2013 Chevy Cruze, the compressor will not kick on so therefore my ac blows hot. I was wondering if you think the issue could possibly be the ac mini relay ? I’m asking because I don’t want to replace the relay and then the issue actually be what is described in this video. If you could help? Maybe shoot me in the right direction? that would be amazing! Could the relay be the issue?
No expert. My 08 Malibu AC runs hot at idle. But when I press the accelerator all the way to the floor it gets cold. Only codes coming up is an emissions code. The other was for a coolant sensor which I replaced. But I do recognize I'm getting horrible gas mileage, and a loss of power from the motor. I get a gurgling noise from the engine which suggests my water pump maybe the cause. But my car never overheats. So perhaps it's the solenoid valve on the compressor. 🤷🏿♂️ anyways. If you leave the compressor on the vehicle, do you still need to drain the coolant in order to replace the solenoid? Or can the solenoid be replaced without emptying the coolant?
I think that's whats making a chirping noise in my cruze, I might do some more research but hopefully that's what's the issue with mine, it makes a chirping noise when I use it and the car isn't moving like on a red light or driving in traffic
Try the A.C. Delco online catalog or one of the larger Genuine GM Parts houses online. Be sure to have your VIN, you will be entering it a lot, so put it in a place where you can copy it from, like a note (on iPad) or text document and paste it pretty easily.

On my radio screen, it shows -40F sometimes then the AC blows hot, so you think that is the same issue?
Here in California I have to purchase compressor which comes with solenoid valve. Sold separate, that sucks..
